Shrike88 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Greetings. More of a feature request and sort of a missing / required feature. There is no turbulence associated with clouds currently, Hopefully in the future we will see depending on cloud type and thickness. This should hopefully be easy to produce as we can use the current Wake turbulence model and implement it into the corresponding positions of the clouds. Very very rarely clouds that I have flown in are smooth. At least a little light bump or two is associated with the smoother ones, and increasing in severity. Just a request hope to see soon. Thanks Shrike 17

Mizzy Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Lightning, thunderstorms, turbulence, dynamic cloud cover associated are all features coming later as ED has stated with the rollout of 2.7 3
Toumal Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 +1. Can't wait for the bumpy ride when you fly into the soup. 2
Lurker Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Yup, this would add a lot to the realism\immersion of the sim. +1 Specs: Win10, i5-13600KF, 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200XMP, 1 TB M2 NVMe SSD, KFA2 RTX3090, VR G2 Headset, Warthog Throttle+Saitek Pedals+MSFFB2 Joystick.

The ED has just opened the door so we can peek inside what the new clouds looks like. When they open the doors completely, there are so many things that they can do with the new weather system. We still need to be patient about it, but we got now amazing improvement that will add so much to combat simulations. If the 2.7 clouds blew someone's mind, wait when that kind things as You mention starts to appear.... 3 i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Spartan111sqn Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 +1 Also more vortex when inside the clouds or the humidity is high on rainy maps.
Pikey Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 +1 I already asked for this and I have mentioned it to key people, for some basic bumps and counter to the smooth homogenous and creamy cloud would give good sensations of movement. It is important, if you think the sim needs this, to add your comment to the thread. Popular threads get attention, don't pass this by. 6 ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

Aarnoman Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Absolutely, MSFS illustrated how much more 'character' flying has as a result of turbulence modelling in clouds. 3

There's only the basic turbulence setting that we've had for ages, though I'm pretty sure it's more or less completely random buffeting. 2 Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.
