It should be really big, if Iron Mike says its big interestingly enough, in the A-1 skyraider announcement we saw something that looked like a Vietnam map. The terrain did not match with the Mariana map to my knowledge along with some boats that are not in game at this point so it seems to me that a Vietnam map is in the works. When it comes to the DCS engine development that is ED's table but it seems that development of modules at this point is being more and more outsourced to third parties so hopefully ED can use all of their resources on game engine development witch is desperately needed

It would make no sense having all these aircraft and not having a proper map to use them in.... 1

LanceCriminal86 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 1 hour ago, IronMike said: Talk about getting carried away, literally. Pffff, getting carried away is buying piles of flight gear because you started looking close at the F-14 pilots while doing skins, and then deciding why not have a setup for each favorite module, because reasons. At this rate I'll be needing enough mannequins to crew a C-130 I was tempted to lay down the gauntlet on whether I was going to be able to piece together a set of F-4E pilot's gear from the 70s-80s before the Phantom drops, but at this point with the parachute harnesses being so hard to find it could end up being 2024 before I could get everything I'd need. So I think instead I'll just make sure my Christmas stocking has room for a Virpil WARBRD stick as it's the closest to the B-8 used in the Phantom, Intruder, and Corsair II. F-4E (Hellenic): A-6: A-7E: Apparently the B-8 family was also used in the F-5, 100, 104, 105, 15, A-10A, and a bunch of other older jets we are pretty unlikely to see in DCS. The Virpil has some differences but it's the same general body and layout, and should work great like my VFX grip and curved extension have. Here's to hoping I'll be able to use it by Christmas or New Years! 2 Heatblur Rivet Counting Squad™ VF-11 and VF-31 1988 [WIP] VF-201 & VF-202 [WIP]
Dragon1-1 Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 The B-8 was the standard US stick for a long time, and its heritage is very obvious in the sticks in Boeing military aircraft. Many, many helos also use the B-8, or its derivatives. Sometimes, you get a hat on the thumbrest instead of a button, but that's pretty much it until you get to 4th generation designs. 2
_BringTheReign_ Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 (edited) I have been working on something special for my fellow Phantom Phans for about a year Still ironing out the last of the kinks before releasing the files for free Will include a BOM and video build guide I 3D modelled this myself off of an actual B-8/MC-2 grip laser scan I hope to release before HB releases their phantom so that fellow Phantom Phans and all century series lovers can fly their jet/heli with a 1:1 scale grip! MemphisBelle Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Hey there, how´s the Phantom Development coming along? I´m just curious about how well you guys proceed. Are you guys still on track for a full unveiling later this year? Absolutely can't wait anymore. This is my Childhood dream Aircraft and I´m so happy that you guys are developing the Phantom. The wait for the Tomcat so much paid out with a Top Notch and super beautiful Module, so I´m so much confident that the Phantom will get what she deserves and nothing less. 3 BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection

Czechnology Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Fellas, just be patient and good things will come. Know we're all excited, but they've said it's still on track for this year, lets just keep our fingers crossed and prayers focused on making that happen. If it's really destined to be, they'll be telling us something soon, only have two months left after all. 2

Being on constant high alert for every bit of infomation doesn't help the cause okaaaay.... joking about torture seems, at the very least inappropriate, possibly even considered harassment in some cases. If I'd posted that I'd have reconsidered and deleted that part of the post, but that's just me. As for the rest, sure, as we get older, we have less time left to enjoy things. But what would you like done differently to get the Phantom Phaster? Do you feel that HB isn't working fast enough?! ED now has a newer policy about announcements and releases... I think it's goal is to not whip up too much hype and frenzy long before a product release is arriving. If that's the purpose, then I agree and support!! Don't dote all your time on a project that's in heavy development long before it arrives... use the modules you have, go outside, talk with people you don't know at the mall food court. If you have a good idea to suggest to the dev team about said module project, by all means post it and discuss, and drop in once a week to see if there's any new news... but when you find yourself so wound up that joking about torture, step away from the device and go for a walk outside and get some sun, talk to other humans using mouth and ears!! Develop your sense of perspective. 1

Dr.Cure Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 That feeling when you're about to lose a lot of money from Heatblur F4 and Razbam F15E at the end of the year......... 1 Phantom Phorever
Manhorne Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 LOL....Ever since they said there was going to be a Phantom I slowly loss interest in all the other modules I have to the point I have not played anything in DCS for about 5 months now. I currently have ZERO interest right now in any other aircraft I have in DCS . I tried to jump into the F-14 a month ago and I flew for about ten minutes and just exited the program . As I have stated before in all my years of flight-sim flying I have wanted to see a detailed F-4 . So Until it is released or there is a fixed date shared when it is going to be released I am just going to wait until then before I start up DCS to play again...I know it sounds crazy but that is how I feel about it.... 1
