No. Thank you.

There are way to many "EA" projects for ED. Hornet, Viper, Super Carrier, Apache, Chinook, Afghanistan... I own all of them. But I don´t see that ED can handle all this in a proper way. And because of this, despite being a fanboy for years I will have to pass on this one and see what the future brings.

Before you call everything a "bug": RTFM & try again! Thank you. :music_whistling:

Snowball effect. Nothing will ever get done at this pace.

Glass half full approach would be:

"Everything is available and will only improve even further" 😉

I wonder how much complaining there would be about lack of content, if ED waited with all new goodies and focussed all their recourses on one module (which would basically compare to having like 50 people trying to cook simultaneously on one small kitchen stove)

Because I've been with DCS since its origin (and actually before that)

All modules ED launched, got better over time

Correct, for all of our early access projects there is a wait for completion, but all of them improve over time, we listen to lots of feedback, get lots of bug reports from you all and it all helps the development and final product.

In theory.

In practice, things can move at a glacial pace. Some come to a standstill. At times I think too many balls are being juggled at once and focus gets lost. It’s an organic type of development, ever evolving so it can be tricky.

Think I’ll give this map a pass for now. Given I have all but one of the maps already I’ll let this lot develop and have another look in time. Never know, someone might wanna give us the Northern and Eastern sections of the Channel Map? That, I’d buy yesterday.

In the last decades glacial stuff keeps moving faster and faster so we're good then?
However, it moves so fast that it disappears...

It is very easy to make quick remarks and ignore all of the work we have done already, DCS is growing and improving constantly, it may not be at a pace you want, but it is.

With that said please keep this thread for discussion of Iraq, off topic posts will be hidden.

thank you

Global warming?!

Personally - I'm very excited about this map & sectional release.

I like the flexibility of these options.

Would be a pity to waste missing the Iran / Iraq war potential, by not including the Iranian bases?

Using the sectional release principle, would ED entertain adding the Southern detail (Basra to Qatar) to the Persian Gulf map, once its released for the Iraq map?

This could be done as a paid (or free?) add on, as ED owns both maps & porting the detail across, should be relatively easy, as will have already been made for Iraq map?

Having said that, could we have the Sectional Release as an option on other maps - i.e. Channel Map / Normandy 2 map? Where each could get the others detailed area as a nominal paid add on (as each map is covered by a different company) This could help relive the current frustrations of users and compensate the different companies involved?

Ugra & OnReTech, kindly did this on their Syria & Sinai maps for Northern Israel (win /win for everyone)

ED will you be doing any Iraq ground type units to go with the map, this would also apply to Afghanistan.

With the latest maps I believe that ground unit/assets should also come with each map rather than having to use the same units DCS has had for the last 15 years which are all Caucus based.

I know you released a few new technicals and new US hummer type thing but we really need regional based assets to go with these maps.

I and a lot of others got burned with nice videos of Afghanistan map, only to be let down by "it's EA and WIP".

This one will have to wait until enough feedback about how it really looks.

Nope, if you buy Irak Map, the complete one, you have access to both parts, North and South.

First North will be High detail. South comes later in High detail, and you will get the South updated like any other update.

If yo buy only North or only South, you will have access to the detailed map ONLY for that part, and the rest of the map will be low detail

Don't count on it. If the sections were not part of the development process making them work for already released maps is not feasible.

There should be more substance, I'm a bit fed up with sandbox DCS with no life

If the map is new and still in development you have to give mission creators more time to create either user made missions or paid DLC campaigns.

The Iraq-North pre-purchase option is not available yet. Any reason why I can’t order this part now?

When will this option be available?

I presume you're likely on STEAM?  There is no pre-purchase possible on Steam currently.  You'll have to wait and see if ED comes up with a workaround like Afghanistan (a short sale either at or shortly after release to give equivalent discount).
