If it stops working then it's real. Until then it's just assumption, unfounded.

Assumption, yes. Unfounded, no. Your assumption that it's going to somehow be different from the last time it happened is the unfounded one. In absence of evidence as to why it should be different, it's perfectly reasonable to fall back on historical precedent. Especially since apparently, the measures enacted to prevent a repeat of the Hawk debacle were not applied in this case. So unless you have a very good reason why it should not be so, "Hawk 2.0" is indeed the realistic expectation.

All modules will eventually stop working. Some modules will stop working sooner than others, the Mudhen likely amongst them. And we have precedence: the Hawk. So it's an educated prediction of future fact. Believing otherwise is wishful thinking, bordering on denial.

@cfrag @Gorn_GER You forget that companies get punished for such behavior so they'd put their sales at risk. Also it's unfounded assumption that only first year is good for new module's sales. Don't forget that players come and go and potentially find and buy DCS modules every day, no matter when they where released.

On my case, the Mirage 2000, the Harrier, and the MiG-19 all do work (I refunded the F-15E) ... but I prefer to devote my ME time to aircraft that are still available for purchase, I feel a bit less at risk that way.

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar

Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

@Hammer1-1 I think Beirut's point was in agreement with yours above.

No module is really "finished".

Yeah, and the people who buy early access modules, rather than wait for the module to be finished, are encouraging this behavior.

Really bad take, considering what "Early Access" really means in DCS.

Say ‚I Don’t know how software sales work‘ without those words. And we were talking about the *majority* of sales. We all can read business cases (I do so since 1995) and we all acknowledge ‚the long tail‘ for non-tangible products; otherwise a 6-year veteran of EA wouldn’t sell, and the false promise of ‘Early Access’ may indeed lure the unwary neophyte to purchase an old module like the Viper. Does ED really think that they need to resort to this level of deceptive sales because in most software markets “early access” implies “fresh”? I think that they should be above that, it’s a bit pathetic.

At this point in time, the RB modules are as dead as the Hawk. They may still mostly function (and I fly them) and linger for a while, but without a revenue stream they are dead to ED. And without ED performing maintenance, their viability shrinks fast. But indeed, let’s all hope for a miracle.

finished means feature complete. serviced is what you are alluding to to keep it functional past its life expectancy. you know, much like maintaining your vehicle at the dealers.

nobody stopping you...I bought every single module expecting them to be completed eventually; bought every single razbam module knowing what kind of person ron is. I expected the shoe to drop eventually with Ron, and I was proven right. took a LOOONG while, but here we are. didnt stop me because I support this industry and all who try regardless of past sins. you can love or hate razbam, but youll eventually have to understand that this is how it works now, else we wouldnt have much in DCS. with that said, you do you. no more support for razbam from me until they 100% modules on release from here on out.

I'm uncertain if I would ever give RB any money again. Depends what transpires in the unknown future.

Regardless of the sim platform, I have enough history with these RB guys now that I’d really think twice before buying anything from them. Wherever they go, a circus seems to follow. I know that is probably an unpopular view, but this deal with ED/DCS, while definitely the worst in their history, is hardly out of character for RB.

My cousin's neighbour's uncle's wife's college roommate's brother says that this entire drama is just a marketing ploy to build hype for Razbam and ED building a full fidelity Avro Vulcan based on 607 and slated for full release in Q2 2026.
