That's the definition of Off Topic, keep this about concerns over the changes and not anything else. Thanks

This has nothing to do with Nick, please do not confuse this change with anything else.

I’ve got to disagree with you there I downloaded an update from Eagle Dynamics reviewed and approved by Eagle Dynamics not OnReTech that removed content I paid for from my game and everyone else that unfortunately purchased this map and couldn’t even mention it in the patch notes.

The map is by a 3rd Party, we do not review or control their changes. The patch notes are supplied by the 3rd Party. This was a surprise to us as well, hence we are asking for info as well.

Guys, I asked you to come here to ask and express your concerns, but please do it maturely and constructively even if you are upset. Also, realize it's Friday, and they are most likely not currently awake, so don't expect an answer this second.

Thanks

You know, we keep telling you guys to stop releasing things on Friday because it deletes people's weekends whenever anything goes wrong.

Once again, there are a series of very good reasons why "Patch Tuesday" is an industry standard.

I get they make it / control the source code but wouldn’t this have been noticed during the QA process or is that outside their scope?

You said it was to not step on toes...how is this a surprise & that you don't have info on this decision?

We are waiting on the reason for the change from the 3rd Party, we don't know for sure what happened.

This was a guess, this is why we are waiting for an answer here.

This particular update had been tested by ED for several weeks, and no one noticed that something is missing until the proverbial substance hit the fan?

Didn't appear so, but if you're walking the original statement back, then ok.

No, we were focused on our own products with a big release, 3rd parties are responsible for their products.

I was giving my best opinion based on the area compared to Syria, but ORT has to tell us the reason, until we hear I don't know for sure, either way.

Ah, so you're not feature-reviewing a 3rd party product, but making sure it doesn't break your own stuff and DCS in general? Well, it kinda makes sense, thanks for clarifying.

Correct, when we receive the initial product we check it much closer, after that it's much more limited and the 3rd Parties are required to do their own testing. They supply change logs and decide on developments, progress and features.

We have a test automation script which could catch this before release. We usually run it after release since we dont have beta access.

While I understand that you're saying this particular issue isn't something ED had prior knowledge/control over, I hope you can still appreciate the general sentiment and feelings that this stirs up regardless. Whether or not ED feels responsible, ultimately DCS is still ED's product, and it reflects poorly to have major content removals or issues as has happened over the past few months. I appreciate that you've asked for an update from the devs, and I hope we'll all get an answer soon.

To OnReTech - This major change without prior communication or open justification is inexcusable. I've recommended your map to people in my group a number of times in hopes of getting a persistent campaign running on it. I cannot in good faith continue to do so when features that were promised/part of the map were removed after money changed hands.

Absolutely disgusting behavior, one of the few maps I put back on when I reinstalled and you have already added a bad taste to my mouth @OnReTechthis is a disappointment and I hope yall resolve this with communication soon

I'm really glad I decided to wait and see what the update would be before buying this map...it's a hard no now.

This is really disappointing.

First RB, now this.  ED get your house in order please.

We trust you when we buy these modules , and that trust is at an all time low.

If "stepping on toes" (other map has this area) is considered a valid excuse, then Normandy 2.0 and Channel would have sections deleted as well.

@OnReTech profile says last online time was 4 hours ago, this thread was opened 8 hours ago. Guess they decided not to reply.

Can we get a refund on this map?

I must say, I've never seen a company allow a 3rd party developer to treat it's customers like this before. With everything OnReTech has done with the development of this map post launch, I sure hope ED changes how they handle 3rd party products.

Actually there were discussions and agreements made about that during the development of Normandy 2.0 SO let's not get into guessing and taking this off-topic, let the dev comment and we will go from there.

I own Syria already and I was looking to get Sinai at some point, but what happened last patch certainly makes me reconsider those plans 🫠

Honestly... both of these maps should have full Israel territory, and because Syria would go farther north and Sinai farther south they would still serve different purposes.

Please review your post.

ED is selling to the public. That implies you are responsible.

It is about time you take quality more serious.
