The unofficial "2025 and Beyond" video hype / speculation & discussion thread

It's nearly that time of year again, what do we expect to see?  Any predictions for the final reveal?  What do we have rumoured but not officially announced?  Central Germany map?  Any new fixed wing modules in the ED pipeline?

It would be nice to see some progress on the dynamic campaign, though I'm not sure how well that will work in a cinematic context.  Some of the legacy 3D models being updated would be appreciated too.

Mig-29A surely appears and other future module, Germany map will be plausible. WW2 modules and maps has not been release yet, that Will be appaears, and new weather effects and some new funtionality, about 3rd parties modules (La7, C-130, Efa?), some new as stub.

Perhaps some updates to the super carrier. We might see the release of the eurofighter and the a-6. Possible map enhancements. The top of Australia map could appear. RZ likely to not be discussed.

In addition to WW2 Marianas map, F4U and Hellcat, I would like to see a K4 refresh.

If a Balkans map is coming I would love a WW2 version too. 

More wishful thinking would be a WW2 Sicily map covering Southern Italy and coastal Tunisia. A similar size to Syria or Sinai with about 70% sea.

Usually my absolute favorite part of DCS each year but this time...Last trailer said Iraq coming in 2024...welp

No sight of the Mig29, RB situation...and another map (germany) which is amazing but then again useless...we need more core features, fixes and airplane variants, 90% of MP is on Cauc anyway.( yes syria too)

I anticipate there will be some tease of the spherical earth map. I'm sure its still early in development but a zoomed out shot showing the curvature or something similar.

Anything for our WWII set would be great. Aircraft and or a map or expansion of a map (Britain to Germany). We need Aircraft.

I expect there to be a starting credit acknowledging the video was made with the Vulkan version of DCS.

It’s been two years since they did that with DLSS and multithreading.

Yes. East Anglia, Netherlands, Belgium and Western Germany. The US planes are ready there for that. I would like to see a P-38 though. Good for WW2 PTO too.

I'm sure I'll like whatever they show. But I got the F4, Kola and Kiowa this year. 

And the other stuff I'm waiting for, I doubt will be released next year, FU4, A7, Tornado, WW2 PTO.

So I guess vulkan would be cool, mabye other weather effects to go with the new fog.

That would be great but I think it's wishful thinking.

My guess lots of Iraq, some North East Afghanistan, C-130J, another year the Heatblur A-6 AI asset is shown, some WWII stuff (which doesn't interest me personally) and maybe something on the Germany or Balkan map.

Teasers on the new earth fog, everything in fog, carrier in fog, helo's in fog, aircraft in fog, grunts in fog, trains coming out of fog, buildings rising out of the fog, you get the picture.

 

 

Oh and a UH-1 refresh with new N model with twins.

My expectations are for various terrain, and images of in-dev aircraft, such as the Corsair, C130, etc. 

My hope is to see things like thunderstorms, and other weather systems, and maybe animated ground crew. (They've done/doing the carrier plane directors - so maybe they'll give a sneak peak of something happening at ground bases). I'd also like to see new animation with ground vehicles and personel such as suppression of infantry units running and diving for cover for greater immersion in things like the TEDAC on the AH64. Also napalm in preparation for Vietnam.

My unrealistic dream would be to see greater animation such as special forces repelling from helo's, infantry embarking/disembarking into Chinook, infantry doing idle things in the back of helo's while flying, and more of that 'battlefield' type experience. Bow spray coming over ships bows in rough weather, and large swells in calm environments would be sweet too. (As we know that the swells are currently directly related to the immediate wind conditions, but IRL swells can be quite separate to immediate weather patterns as they can form thousands of kilometers away and take longer to travel). 

All in all though -I hope for one thing that will surprise me and get me excited about a new feature. Really, the most of what we see in 2025 will be things that can't be visualized. (Many more bug fixes, better AI, more API options for mission designers, etc).

My hopes for the video:

- New and much improved ATC radio
- New weather effects we still haven‘t seen
- Ground crew for airfields (as the Carrier Deck Crew for taxiing finally arrived)
- New map (maybe Balkan)
And a surprise we didn‘t expect :)
