MiG-29A Fulcrum Pre-order

I've been waiting over a decade for this. I really want the S version. Hopefully with enough purchases of MiG29A, ED will develop that as well. Definite buy for me. Now it's time to build a new PC

Looks amazing - I really don't fly A2A very much anymore, but I might make an exception for this.

Last time I didnt do any skin for F-5 so the problem is present still? Model viewer 2 wasnt updated yet for encrypted skins?

FC2024 migs are better equipped for MP servers (where im 85% flying) and you'll get 3 versions of the same plane. Yes, they are simplified, but for me, this module is not worth it. I'll pass this one

Thats interesting, the MP thing.

As far as i know real MIg-29A doesnt have the T/ET, and only the ER was retrofitted years after entering service. So it could be possible some people will use FC3 Mig-29A on MP instead of the FF, because the expanded misiles options. Or maybe ED will "degraded" FC3 Mig-29A to the same weapon choices of the FF one. XDDD

Steam does pre-order all the time. Sometimes with 1-2 years advance before the release. It's ED/DCS that somehow can't get it to work on steam. They could before. But now they can't.

Steam requires a CERTAIN DATE release for pre-orders. So without a date for Early Access release, no pre-order on Steam.

This is great news, and the plane looks terrific. Since I own each and every module on offer (a >>1K investment) I can't help noticing that a *lot* of the planes that you sold me as Early Access still haven't reached "Final Release" state after 5-6 years (F-16, WW2 Asset Pack). To encourage us often-burned-and-not-learning-the-lesson: do you have a tentative timeline when you envision the Final Release for this plane to occur?

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I assume this will be higher on their priority list than, say, Yak-52, but how high with all the other top-tier ED modules still in the development, that's the question.

That said, I'm glad there are many people who like and buy the module. For me, it's a pass, at least for now. Maybe I'll add it later, but right now it would just be a hangar queen - and I've got quite a lot of those already.

But the module looks impressive, at least from the video.

I’m glad you mentioned the Yak-52 Virgo, I’ve been asking for this module to be made to fly straight for ages, a key bind for the knee board too.

“A” doesn’t exist really, other than an obscure pre-production prototype. But it tends to refer to the initial production version (called “Fulcrum-A”) by NATO and in this case it’s a “Project 9.12A” which is the slightly downgraded version for Warsaw-pact.

As such there is no such thing as “MiG-29A”, there is only “MiG-29” with subversions (not using the NATO A-B-C version numbers). The correct name for the one we get in DCS should thus be “MiG-29 9.12A”.

”S” is the first upgrade since that initial production version, or 9.13 with the enlarged dorsal spine for extra internal fuel. These are aircraft produced since 1986. Then there is a 9.13S with further upgrades such as internal ECM, better radar, refinements to flight control, +2 degrees extra max AoA, and provision for 2 external wing tanks. but very few of those exist apparently.

So when people talk about “MiG-29S” they tend to refer to “MiG-29 9.13S” since that’s the one we have in FC3.

I am a kid of the 80s and the MiG-29 was always my favorite Soviet airframe.  I'm going to finally start the Kursant campaign in the L-39 to prepare.
