What modules are you currently flying? [2025]

Hello everyone!

I am very curious to know what aircraft you are flying at this moment. 😀 With so many modules in DCS and more to be released, I thought it would be fun know!

Feel free to post pictures 😀

I am currently flying the F-4E Phantom and AJS-37 Viggen because of the intresting cold war design philosophy & technology going on. I love deploying those AGM 62- Walleye, GBU-8 Hobos, RB-04E and RB-15F!

On my case, I’m dedicated to learning the Corsair at Marianas ww2, and afterwards I’d like to return to the Viggen to fly this campaign:

I am making a Campaign for my Squadron and in it I will fly the A-10C2 Tank Killer for the first time. I have played around with it on Pretense and it has always been that bird I wanted to learn but when I did, I got out of practice.

Its going to be a lot of fun.

Not enough time :pilotfly:

That's why I mostly fly a single type at a time, for several months until the urge to fly something else kicks in 🙂

Mostly OH-58 and Mi-24, but some F-4 too once in a while, and I can never leave F-15E alone for long 🥳

For the past three years, the F/A-18 has been my main module for most scenarios, Viggen for Cold War. I started on the F-16 and also own the M-2000, but fly both very little.

Apache overall; learning the combat tactics and how to better deploy it as a non experienced person in this kind of aircraft.
Fixed wings: Warthog, Viper and the Hornet has been my go to in Retribution campaigns (weekly).

Today I did a strike with the Phantom and I want to fly it much more. Walleyes/HOBOs and Mavs with it are my most favorite. Mk-82s/83s are right after.🙂 So fun and such a good module.

I mean there is not enough time in the day to fly em all 😀. I’ve got plenty of ‘time’ on type now though. Those that I fly frequently. If I don’t mess about and rush in I can bring most of em in nice and smoothly now (he says, oof) :pilotfly:

Feel sorry for my Jets really, prolly the most neglected of all modules and OH, I just remembered, how could I not mention it? THE OH! OH-6A, THE LOACH!, I fly the Loach and the Loach flies me 🤪. The most fun to be had in a flight sim.

Steike eagle is such a fun bird. What bombs and how many you want sir? Yes please.

I fly mostly short bits between obligations. So a quick dogfight in. MiG-15, a rescue in a huey, things like that. Sadly haven't got the time to truly get to grips with some of the more intricate birds like phantom, viggen or apache.

I’m part way through my semi regular walkthrough where I fly all of my modules.

Helps me not forget, I like the variety and along the way I get to refine my kneeboards for my HOTAS layout and guidance.

I'd say my focus as of late lies with the F-4E, even though I don't really do all that much with it, and - even if that seems to be rare so far - the Mi-8.

True words.

I´m currently switching in our squadron missions as suited between Hornet, Viper, Phantom. In my single player campaigns I´m actually focused on Huey, P51, Viper and Phantom. And I´m prepairing for my RAG in the Tomcat. In my Hanger there are several other Birds waiting, like Viggen, Corsair (can´t play it atm) and the Apache. I want it all!

Strike Eagle is another thing, I bought it not long before it went out of shop. I´ve flown it sometimes and had great fun, but I´m struggling to waste my time in a dead module. I hope the tide turns on this one soon, would love to go deep into it.

To get this trainwreck back on track...

I very much fly a module for a period, then I fly another for a while.. Often due to playing multiplayer campaigns with my friends in "37:e stridsflygdivisionen". Earlier this year I flew the Viggen. An aircraft that is very dear to me. I love that module.
Now I fly the Hornet in the current campaign we're running. I haven't flown it for a long time, but the Hornet is nice too.
I also plan to learn the Phantom more in depth soon, because I have an idea for a multiplayer campaign for it.
In addition to the fixed wing modules enjoy flying helicopters a lot in DCS. Especially in VR. Currently I am flying the old Huey a lot, part because it still works fine in VR, part because I am working on a multiplayer campaign for it.
Before some update from ED or Meta messed up VR for me, my fav helicopter was the Kiowa, it´s so fun and easy to fly!

The Kiowa is such an amazing airframe, one of my favourite things to do is play on Contention server and doing recon for the team.

On Contention the Kiowa can report recon targets without having to return to base, that makes the Kiowa an incredible powerful information source for the team, able to spot numerous targets in one-go (if you can survive sneaking out from the FARP without being hunted down).

In order of decreasing frequency: Mi-24, Ka-50, Su-25A, Mi-8,

Very rarely the Mozzy.

Hardly ever - the F/A-18, Su-27, A-10C, Dora, Mustang, Sabre

Used to fly the 18 quite a lot then got into the helicopters

Cheers.
