May an intrepid modder include it from old LOMAC files when map tools are released. Even may it be joined together with actual Georgia in a bigger map enhancing naval operations possibilities in the black sea. Lets dream :) .

My thoughts are that the best scenario is a theater created with a specific module (or multiple modules) that are then ideally tailored to the era and circumstances (so the AI units, etc match).

If that is done, then just about any major conflict would be interesting and enjoyable. Major conflicts offer more opportunities for different campaigns and a variety of different engagements (multi-aircraft vs 2-v-2).

As an American, Vietnam and Korea have big potential. But the Suez crisis of the 1950s could be interesting, as could the several different conflicts in Israel.

For me, having an integrated package is the priority and I'm a fan of many different eras and scenarios.

Guys i think the middle east Map (Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Israel and maybe iraq is well needed) especially with the developing situation in the region.

Falklands/Malvinas war

Just wanted to say... I would love to see that conflict recreated using DCS. Maybe with some tweeks to reduce the adventage of the Harrier (just giving them only AIM9J, or better versions of Matra and Magic to the argentines?).

Lots of ships, aircrafts (Harriers, Skyhawks, Mirages 3 and 5, Etendards, turboprop Pucara, Canberra bomber, Macchi 303), and helicopters (Huey UH1, Seaking, Linx) etc, etc.

Just a thought

I'd love to see Israel and it's historical conflicts in DCS. (6 day, Yom Kippur) It's such an incredible conflict and really was a great historical example of what a good air force can do in a tight situation. Israel wouldn't even exist anymore if their air force didn't do as well as they had, 'specially in the six day war.

Afganistan for me (soviet and US era) or Balkan the 90´s. The whole Europe will be also fine - shooting the civil planes flying from central Europe states with old Migs or L-39/29...

When I was on active duty, in US Army, I explored scenarious of Russian, Chinese invasion scenarios of Alaska and Aleutian Islands. Alaska is a strategic US territory, center of North American Ballistic Missile Defense, and energy extraction.

Would be interesting to see an Alaska, Aleutian Islands, North Pacific scenario map.

Possibly also Arctic scenario.

Definatly an Eastern European scenario around Eastern European NATO members.

Baltic and Scandanavian Theater.

Second Falklands scenario would be interesting once Mirage2000 and Typhoon modules are out. Since Argentina is likely to receive second hand Russian SU-24s and second hand Brazilian Mirage2000 airframes. UK currently bases flights of Typhoons on Falklands for air sovereignty missions.

The Alpes are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe, stretching approximately 1,200 kilometres (750 mi) across eight Alpine countries: Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia, and Switzerland. So as a western Europe map it would be nice to do this part of Europe.

Search on youtube for "Axalp" ;-)

PS.: Aegean Sea would be nice too.

I'd personally liked to see an adriatic sea map.

240px-Adriatic_Sea_map.png

A lot of the units we have available as modules served in the wars that occured there in the 90's. things like the Mi-8 and the MiG21BiS and MiG29 where serving the yugoslavian forces. Amongst NATO forces the F15 and A10, and upcoming F/A18 and F14.

I think the terrain suits itself for fictious conflicts as well. Taking off from Italy and perfoming a first flight of a campaign, a FAM flight, a relocation or even an amphibious attack across the adriatic sea would seem enjoyable to me. For players not opposing somewhat more lengthy ops, you could take off from Italy, perform an aerial refuel above the adriatic sea, do your missions in the balkans, head back for a refuel and continue on home.

At the widest point, it's about 200km across the sea, at it's narrowest, at the straight of otranto, it's about 70km across. so all aircraft should be able to handle the crossover, in a reasonable amount of time.

Check my F-15C guide

sorry I disagree! Another "Sahrani ", "Poopootistan" or similar "fictional five vegetation zones in a 100 square miles area" is simply another war game! That is why most Sims try to accurately model a "real" environment.

I prefer any Afghanistan, Iraq or Balkans map with accurate cities and street grids over that.

I'd like a modern day Afghanistan, Iraq map or maps with surrounding countries.

Thanks,

Oh, I know exactly what you mean (first "clickable" cockpit back then) and I'd love the old Scandinavia map, but with modern scenarios for real Typhoons... Hmmm, Morroco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt comes to mind? I have this vision of a Caucasus map growing south to engulf the middle east and then spread west until it covers the whole Mediterranean and adding east until it reaches Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India... A man can have dreams, right?

I would preferably like to see Angola or the DRC myself. (but preferably Angola as it has a coastline) And I'll tell you why...

Firstly, the terrain is mostly very rural, which would not only avoid large, time consuming cities to be created, but would also aid in game performance. As well as providing an excellent landscape for ground wars with a good mixture of bush, open savanna and small rural towns. Thirdly, although the previous mentioned alternatives have all had their fair share of conflicts, Central African wars offer a far more realistic solution due to the fact that DCS can not handle the amount of units that would realistically take place for instance, in a European conflict. African style battles take place on a far smaller scale, and lend themselves to the performance capabilities of DCS far more... And due to the fact that the region is also very unstable, it offers great possibilities for missions and campaigns. Lastly there are already a lot of modules available for aircraft that have taken part in Central African wars such as the Mig 15, Mig 21, Mi-8, Uh-1, Su-25, F-86, P-51 and Mirage, with more on the way. Not to mention that a large amount of existing AI Air and ground units have also served in the African theater.

Another terrain I would love to see that hasn't been mentioned is the Falklands. I think it would be a perfect fit for Razbam's up and coming Harrier Mod (be it the later models) and would also offer performance advantages due to it's small size in comparison to other maps as well as realistic amphibious and naval scenarios. Plus it would hopefully lead to the continuation of the A-4 Skyhawk and the development of an Invincible class carrier mod.

I don't know if anyone else has thought of this, but what about a map of Switzerland for BST's F-5 Tiger II.Since Leatherneck Sims is planning on making a Swedish map for it's Saab 37 Viggen jet.It would be great to see another neutral country defend it's airspace against NATO and Russian/Warsaw Pact aircraft in certain mission scenarios.

Switzerland would, IMO, be an strange choice.

making a Swedish map makes some sense, as it would have probably been a very hot spot if the cold war had turned hot. Switzerland, AFAIK, would probably have been spared in such a scenario.

I think the Indo Pak war map would be perfect for the Mirage 2000, Mig-21 and the F-86! Plus the Hawker Hunter is on it's way from VEAO so that makes it even more perfect! :D
