  2. The number you put in the option is personal?, ok I respect it.
  3. @BIGNEWY@NineLine Im sorry to tag you guys, but i really want you to be aware of current issue with one and only weapon for MiG-29. As we have no answers yet.
  4. LOL - When I first read that I thought you meant "IRL" & I thought to myself "Should you be telling us you were flying in an Apache 38km inside Afghan territory a few weeks ago ?"
  5. I really like this mod, but a couple things are very annoying. constant roll - there is no way to trim out in roll axis, either left or right. not a payload or fuel issue as far as i can tell... No comm in the air. Comms only work on ground. Anyone else seeing these?
  6. I understand why people are using curves, but personally I don't use them as they give me bad habits. What kind of hardware controls do you have? An extention is way better than curves. And as already been suggested. Learn formation flying with a very light grip on the stick, and work that throttle ALL the time. Look at the tanker at 45°, and you will have a better perception of if you advance or retreat. Don't focus on the basket, (at least until you have mastered the art). If you have the Super Carrier, forget the Hornet for now. Jump in the Su-33. It's one of the simplest modules to AAR in. Lock up the tanker in IRST, and the HUD will tell you if you advance or retreat. Same with the tanker POD. The lights will tell you. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  7. @Rapti looks good i am assuming this is via helios? I do have a montior in my setup a 24 inch which has the left and right DDI and the fuel gauge exported via lua scripts plus the ufc is exported in the corner so my ufc will work in hud mode i did think of using helios but didnt want to add another element to the thing as in helios. Also i have made the gauges and something about having mechanical styles guages looks cool. With the RWR and SARI i will have to get a small led screen and export via a lua script well hoping anyway.
  8. Thanks, i have had a look and not much in the way of software i have found some sketches just need to undertand them original i did have the velocity vector working with a standard 270deg servo as servos are easy to get to work with DCS bios just wish you could control the 360 deg ones.
  9. Wild thought! Apologies if this is personal, I mean no harm. You say you can't use pedals due to your legs. The real pedals in the F-16, barely moves, as they're also force sensing like the stick. Can you move your toes? Maybe you could DIY force sensing toe pedals or something? Cheers! 10. I've been looking into how AI units detect aircraft at night, and the results are actually really interesting. After checking through the detection.lua file and running a bunch of tests, I found that sky_bodies_illumination_factor is set to true, which means the moon phase directly affects how visible you are to AI. The game uses four moon stages quarter, half, three quarter, and full, with each one adding more light that helps AI spot you more easily against the night sky. sky_bodies_illumination_factor = true, other_light_sources_illumination_factor = true, --no effect if sun_illumination factor disabled darkness_threshold = 0.0, --no effect if sun_illumination factor disabled What stood out the most in testing was how external lights change your visibility. The parameter light_source_detection_distance is set to 10,000 meters when light power is at full, and my tests showed that position lights make you a lot easier to see and far more likely to be engaged by AI. Strobe lights also increased detection, but not as quickly as the position lights, while formation lights barely made a difference. as_light_source = { light_source_detection_distance = 10000.0 --for light power = 1.0f }, The file also shows that other_light_sources_illumination_factor is set to true, which means your own aircraft lights actually light up your airframe and make you glow against the dark background. In other words, you are basically making yourself a visible target when your lights are on. Another important part is the darkness_threshold value, which is set to 0.0. That suggests AI detection does not completely disappear at night. It is just greatly reduced unless you are illuminated by your own lights or the moon. max_detection_distance = 50000.0, --m, absolute limit But detection times increase significantly at longer ranges average_det_time_max_dist_0 = 1.0, --s, average detection time of target ahead at the maximal distance average_det_time_max_dist_180 = 10.0, --s, average detection time of target behind at the maximal distance Overall, both the code and testing show that flying with lights on at night, especially under a bright moon, makes you far easier to detect and engage. What should be the cover of darkness actually turns into a disadvantage if you are not careful with your lighting. Contributer: @mach_point_yuh, @lightningw0lf, @zenki1419

    HOTAS Decision.

You might want to read the OP again, where the Moza base is literally mentioned. I do know however what HOTAS means, Hands On Throttle And Stick, as I got my first Thrustmaster set in the early 90s. I'm not talking about an FFB stick. I'm talking about FFB bases, you can get without the stick, (extension in my world), and grips. According the reviews I would stay clear of Moza grips. I am just giving advice, so people won't have regrets and waste their money. The reason why I recommend FFB, is that you will get a better experience from how the stick/base whatever gives feedback in the game. I'm not talking about "rumble" effects, (which I personally turn off anyway). I'm talking about being able to trim like in a real helicopter. Having the stick move when you trim in the F-5E/F-14/F-4E. Feel the roll limiter in the F-5E, and having the stick displaced forward. Also in FC modules and A-10s+. Having the stick being limp when there's no airflow over the surfaces, like in the WWII, MB-339, C-101 modules. It's not perfect, but please do enlighten me to which DCS modules that do not have FFB support. And I emphasise, I'm NOT talking about shooting guns, dropping bombs etc. You're absolutely entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine. Even if your attitude discourage people from getting FFB, which eventually will lead to slower support. OP has made a decision. Good on him. This thread is probably done for. Cheers!
  12. В проэкте ФФБеаст это реализовано. При изменении скорости надо перетриммироваться.
  13. yeah, want a decent dopamine spike? learn that CPG spot.
  14. I enjoy playing this mission pack. However, I cannot get to work any CCRP attacks in an F16. The steerpoints in the F16 somehow do not correspond to the steerpoints indicated on the F10-map. I cannot get the TGP targeting cue on anything.
  15. Hi Baltic, someone reported a similar problem in August and it was reported fixed but I just experienced the same problem. I successfully hit the building and I successfully hit the west technical by the river and then I hit the APC east of the Utah FOB, and I was careful to ensure I was coming in the from north and egressing west. I hit the target and Darkstar (I think) says great F'king hit, and then nothing happened. I flew around the area for about 10 minutes with no communication and then decided to fly back to base with no further comm's, and when I ended the mission it said I had killed friendlies and my score was wiped out. It looks like from the debrief that the APC is around some friendlies (wall and some other assets). Thoughts? Really enjoying the campaign by the way!!
  16. What are the numbers? 5,0,0,2 then 4,0,2,2 like what is that?? not being mean just so confused by that. I get 2xext is two external tanks (I assume), but what are the other numbers???? Not really telling me exactly what your loadout is.
  17. AAR is formation flying. Once you understand that, it's much easier to do. Curves are unnecessary, or even harmful. Find yourself a visual reference that isn't the basket (aiming with the gun cross usually works OK) and use it to judge where you are in the envelope. Also, start with the KC-130. If you try to do it with the S-3D, you're in for a frustrating time, that's the hardest tanker to refuel from. Once you can do it with the Herc, move on to the S-3D.

  19. Ok I just tryed the new AI ATC 1.05 with no changes from my side and its not working anymore. I didnt know that. Buttons are no longer pressable and you cant even start up the engines. I think an DCS update broke the scripts, right? It seems that the problems are only in the viper. No comms on the channels and frequency. Buttons are not pressable anymore. Closing the canopy but in game the canopy stayes open. But sound and button movement are right. Many many problems with the viper. F18 no problems at all... UPDATE: After a flight with the F18 with no problems the second try from cold and dark also was faulty. Canopy get stuck in the middle and also no comms with AI ATC.
  20. Only comment is quadviews from Pimax Play is not the most efficient or customizable. I would use mbuccia's quadviews 1.1.3 and switch it off in PiPlay. You just have to install it after pimax play (and anytime after you intall a new version of Pimax Play). Then create a config file following the instructions on the github page where mbuccia's quadviews is. Some people use tally mouse's quadviews companion but it is not meant for HMD without eye tracking, the settings for ''horizontal_fixed_section'' and ''vertical_fixed_section'' is not accessible in the companion. Heres is a simple example of ''settings.cfg'' file: # These settings are for all headsets and applications smoothen_focus_view_edges=0.3 sharpen_focus_view=0.2 [app:DCS] # The settings are specific to the app "DCS World". turbo_mode=0 peripheral_multiplier=0.3 focus_multiplier=1.5 horizontal_fixed_section=0.45 vertical_fixed_section=0.35
  21. Seems that this script error issue persists. I encountered it today when flying Mission 3 for the first time. I confirm all 4 Cobweb blue members were present and accounted for throughout including at the time of the issue. I bombed the bridge with Blue 1 and bombs hit and the error occurs accompanied by screen freeze. I hit escape on keyboard...stayed frozen. Keyboard, mouse all unresponsive. Had to bring up task manager and quit DCS. No mods on my system. Note also that Blue 1 buzzed the target but no munitions were released...no guns, no bombs. Blue 3 and Blue 4 were engaged in some screwy airshow display...all over the place. I will do the DCS repair process but will move onto the next mission.
  22. Relax your grip on the stick, use light pressure to make adjustments. Consider adding a curve to your pitch and roll axes, or add more if you already have some. Don't chase the basket, else you risk pilot-induced oscillations. Formation flying in general is always a bonus for AAR.
  23. guess it has been already asked somewher and forgive me if i ask here again refueling the hornet in vr i connect with the drogue but i cannot stay connected more than a few seconds although i work stick and throttle .....any suggestion to stay connected in vr till i her refuel complete? (apart practice and practice of course )
  24. +1 Seems like the best option since ED didn't seem to care a lot about the contradicting documentation and information about the function of the SPO-15
  25. nullThese contrails look stunning.
