Sharing my work on a Google Earth overlay for Iranian Military Sites. I was unhappy with what was publically available so I decided to make my own bases on open source research and some serious map searching. The KMZ contains almost all Air Defence and IRIAF locations and many more locations for IRIA, IRIN, IRGC, storage, production and underground facilites in Iran. I have been building this overlay for some time, I guess many sites have been destroyed by now but it is usefull for creating realistic missions and placing units in their correct locations in the southern region that lines up with the Persian Gulf Map. I'm still slowly working on this overlay as my research continues so If you add the link as a network link in Googel Earth you will get the updates as they occur. I don't understand why the special option to chose our cockpit was removed... What's the point ? @aerges It is really annoying for many of us using cockpit mods for skin or languages change.

If variants F, M and P weigh 16% less than they should in cases where (for whatever reason) the proper value is not available, it's not ok. I mean, if the missile has mass of 231, it should have it at all times (before the rocket motor starts depleting some fuel), right?

Hello How can I manage labels in campaigns generated with Mbot DCE? I am trying 'Hot War In The Cold' but cannot turn on the labels and thus cant identify enemy positions

The handle should technically be in the up (pulled) position for cold starts. I've already mentioned this to our programmers.

While I am sure Mike has done his research and provided a great answer. I found an interesting real world video (https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8roShyY/). In this video it sort of shows that the lock is not “on” as he starts the unfold process. Another interesting fact is that while the flap closes, the red visual indicator stay up until the locking mechanism is engaged. Don’t recall the DCS version doing the same with the visual indicator. I also found that when folded, they used jury struts (red braces) to “lock” the wings folded. These are put on by the ground crew. Anyway, maybe locking the wing lock mechanism when the wings were folded helped with hydraulic pressure. It is certainly interesting learning about this iconic bird.

From the Corsair manual , info about WEP. Engine is R2800-8W, and states Auto Lean for WEP indeed.

Yes hard break instantly after release, 500-600ft release altitude. I've also tried going full burner and pulling up hard but still get damaged. Delayed fuze is a good idea, unrealistic and a problem with moving targets but it might be the only way.

While I don't necessarily disagree that ED can exhibit priorities that appear strange to us users, in the last 2 patches they fixed 2 things that prevented many people including myself from even taking a look at the module, let alone starting to dive into it: the pedal trim and VRAM issues. Those two should never have made it past the pre-release build and took a year to fix, so here we are

Let's recap what I said: The -8W engine didn't use Auto Rich for MIL or WEP power settings, but the -8 (without injection) DID. And the F4U-1D used the -8W engine. So if you're having to turn on Auto Rich to get the documented performance the engine is modeled wrong for the plane we have. Period.

I was beta testing these missions. In fact bought Afghanistan only for that purpose. I lack SSD space, so I only have maps I use atm, installed. This campaign will make me reinstall the map again. I just got to let another map go. I spent some time on them. Because I learned a lot about this chopper, I did believe I had all the knowledge about before starting. Many thx. Excellent campaign

Been installing them all weekend! Check this out and the link below. HIGHLY recommend going to the discord in Hawkeye60's forum below. TONS of Pacific stuff in there. All the mods in the video below were downloaded from the links in his thread. However, I started finding updated ones on his discord after I shot the video. More videos to come. Even saw WW2 deck crew in there.

Former P-3C EWO here, well DCS is far far away from being able to be worked realistically in EW, the D & F can still work. There are a lot of factors at play here. I'll get more into it when I get home. I'm at work for 2 more hours.

There’s also Revo Uninstaller you can use to uninstall everything you don’t need, even Windows components. Jayz2Cents made a good video about it a while back. It will help, but not make a massive difference as to suddenly close the gap between 2D and VR. It’s impressive what ED has done with DX11 to make DCS VR run so well as it does, but in the end there’s only so much one can do until we get the updated engine.

hi, I'm following your build and I printed all 3 sets of parts, this brown part (last photo, gear) is missing from your files, please update it. Also, your bearings are incorrect, what bearings did you use for the cross section? (the one where you put the tube in) you indicated 25x37x7 bearings but these are way too small.

I would be careful using the quaggles dataminer because a lot of the formatting, comments, and some of the tables are not included in the files because the dataminer is pulling the data from memory when the game is started. It makes it hard to read and there could be stuff missing. Aim-7 is one of the few lua files we have acces to in the root install under coremods/aircraft/aircraft weapon pack. That mass value under the "AIM_7_FM" table in the aim7family lua file i don't believe gets used. Because it's inside of a function that gets copied across all of the aim-7 variants.
