Main menu mouse "stutter" when ecores disabled
miguelaco replied to samtheeagle's topic in General Bugs
I have the same issue in the menu and I'm not disabling e-cores at all. I'm trying to pinpoint the cause and noticed that disabling Hyperthreading kind of fixes the issue in the main menu. Sadly, it seems that fps are less stable once in the cockpit, so it is a dead end for me. I keep reading that lowering the polling rate of the mouse seems to help, but I don't know how to do that in my Logitech MX Master 3. I have to say it is really annoying, even if it seems fine once in-sim. -
OH-6A by Tobsen and Eightball
Raffi75 replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Check your internet settings; you might have a limit set. I downloaded OH-6 and the rest two days ago without any problems. -

I don't think you will see the F-35 alot (I assume your speaking of multiplayer) unless both sides are using this same jet. Nobody likes to be deleted in midair with no warning and that would not attract many people. EF coming to DCS is not equipped with an AESA radar and therefore will most likely compare with DCS F-15C FF. It's not going to be invincible. That being said, yes redfor needs a more modern jet. Otherwise I only see Eurocanards VS teen F-X's servers in the future.

May I ask you BN in this regard what about the fix for the Winwing panels in case of the Dimm export problem?

Changes to the behaviour of net.dostring_in()
Actium replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
assert() is used for benign error handling. It is not a security measure against malicious code. The reverted changes attempted to address the latter. -
The meteor missiles are not yet delivered to India (as part of the Rafale deal with France). So they were not really prepared to face off F-16's and J-10C's. India is facing a problem of reliable BVR missiles not just for the Rafale but for the entire India AF jets (they have old unreliable R-77's which made scandals in India in the past). They have alot in the pipeline coming for years but not yet materialized (astra MKI & II, R-37, Meteor and others). Providing that each jet is decently equipped with proper missiles, then the JF-17 does not compare with Rafale but may be more comparable with Tejas.

I noticed there's no feedback when the plane stalls. No buffeting, no sound change, nothing at all. I have the Moza force feedback controller.

DCS: F-16C Viper Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)
Gunfreak replied to wilbur81's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
This was supposed to be my 800th subscriber special. I had it made some time ago. Waiting for the sniper pod. It came and also came with a bug. Causing GBUs not hitting moving targets. So I had to make a new video for that. Now that the sniper pod can guide moving targets. I can finally do this mission. Truck broken down, Taliban out in force to take advantage. Some bombing. Finding a moving column. Some gun guns guns. I had not paid attention, and was not aware that AI can't use sniper pod. So my useless wingman didn't do much. Except a single gun run at the very end. -

Just seen this thread. But people here are talking about inside the cockpit which yeah I get especially in VR. But does anyone else notice that the canopies look too opaque with external views? Spitfire Mustang and Hornet spring to mind more than any others. If flying with cloud it’s very apparent in VR and in my opinion really spoils the external views

Unable to complete the upgrade download since the last upgrade
silverdevil replied to chn6's topic in General Bugs
did you by chance make a manual edit to your HOST file located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc? probably not since the hostname is resolving to the correct IP address. not sure how easy it would be but you could try to get your ISP involved. -

i personally upgraded recently and had no issues. i think there was a tad better performance. -
welcome back. rename the DCS folder within Saved Games to DCS.BAK. Restart DCS and see if DCS will start. a new DCS folder will be created. if DCS runs, great. then you can grab your INPUTS folder from the backup DCS folder.

I seem to be having a problem downloading the DCS OH6A Zip file from Github, there seems to be a 1Gb limit on file downloads as I get the following error every time that I try and download the ZIP file ( The download stops and I get "Check Internet Connection" message) This happend for both the OH-6a as well as the A4 zip files both of which are over 1Gb in size. Does anyone know of any other sites that these files can be downloaded from?

As an airplane increases or decreases speed, the amount of lift generated will also change. This requires that you move *and hold * the control stick forward (nose down) or backwards (nose up) to maintain any give altitude. This is true of any airplane where the control stick is physically connected to the elevator surfaces. For example, if you increase speed by adding power, your airplane naturally wants to climb from the additional lift. That means you must push forward/move control surfaces downward, *and hold* to counteract the lift of the wings if you want to maintain your current altitude. With sufficient speed, this will mean the elevator surface will be visibly deflected in order to cause the nose to lower. The stick in the cockpit will also be in a new position because it’s directly connected to the elevator. If you are continually accelerating, the force needed to move the elevator further nose down to maintain altitude continues to increase greatly, to a point that the pilot would not have enough strength to continue pushing any further forward. At that point, the plane would simply continue to climb, until you reduce your power. Trim is necessary because it relieves the heavy forces necessary to hold the control surfaces at that new position. This means that after you trim the airplane for a new airspeed, the control stick no longer requires force to stay in that new position necessary to maintain altitude. But critically, as a natural consequence of the stick being physically linked to the control surface, the stick *MUST* be in a new position if you go “hands off”. So, in other words, the stick will be in a new position after trimming. There is simply no way around this for planes that use cables, push-pull rods, and bell cranks to connect the stick to the control surfaces. My apologies for being so wordy. The way trimming works is harder to understand when it’s being explained in words. Once you fly an airplane and viscerally feel the control pressures and movements needed to maintain level flight as airspeed changes, it becomes much easier to understand how it works, and what it looks like when it’s used. Force feedback joysticks were created solely to simulate these forces. Edit to add: these forces are obviously not present when the airplane is sitting still on the ground. While it's true that you can cause the elevator and stick to move without touching the control stick solely by using trim, this is cannot occur when the plane is still. The trim tab affects the elevator surface only through aerodynamic forces. And by the way, to all budding pilots out there, it's is very bad practice to "fly the plane" using trim only. Best practice is to manipulate the stick to where it needs to be to maintain altitude, then use the trim to relieve the forces on the control stick. Then you can remove your hand from the stick and see that the plane now roughly maintains altitude all by itself.

The issue is back for us too despite the alleged fix by removing the sa-11 and sa-10. The servers are crashing every 2-3h now and pisses off alot of players. Our servers hit 30-50 players almost daily and we have no clue why it keeps crashing. Sometimes its the wSimCalendar Event and sometimes the log just ends suggesting the DCS_Server.exe just crashed. It would be great if we could get an update on this issue or atleast help you find the cause.
