Hey Guys! I'm going out on a Limb hereby releasing my LPD Foundre Mod which has 3 liveries for Brazil, France, and Chile. This is a basic mod but works very well. Once I get the Anti Air weapons working again I will release an update. She does have countermeasures to avoid missile attacks. She also has 4-5 landing positions for helicopters. I've only been able to land to CH-53s onboard her. Please let me know if you have any major technical issues! Enjoy! What a riot of an airplane. I tried it once or twice on the free trials but never really got into it. This time I have it on the free trial and actually put some effort into it and it's a blast. So I picked it up. I always thought the Viggen people were an odd bunch - they are - and now I understand the appeal. This thing is just fun, and surprisingly simple to figure out. A wonderfully weird and enjoyable plane. Just been flying around and trying things out, haven't run a real mission yet, but that's sure to be good fun as well. In any case, what an exceptional module.4 points

RAF 605 "Count of Warwick" Sqn pack, containing a generic livery (with fixed squadron code, UP, but dynamic airplane code and serial number), UP-O/HJ808, and UP-J/NS838, better known as Wag's "War Wagon". The latter is currently operated by the Flying Heritage Museum, and reference images of that aircraft were the primary source for this project. Features include: - Custom stencils, based off reference images (surprisingly, the IRL UP-J seems to have no markings for either fuel OR oil). - Intentional minor misalignment of the camo scheme, based off reference images. - Use of common folders, so despite being three liveries, it takes up only 50% more space than the generic livery by itself would. - Full custom roughmets. - Brush stroke effects on all four roundels, the fin flash, and the radio codes of UP-O and UP-J. - Not sure exactly how to describe it, but the effect you see on most airbrushed aircraft (including the War Wagon) where the very edge of the camo is a lot duller than the rest of it. It's not very visible from most angles, but it really pops when the lighting is right, and that's been recreated here. Available at https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329763/ If there are issues with either the swastika kill markings and German law regarding those, or Popeye (presumably) being a copyrighted figure, I've also made a version that replaces the swastikas with Iron Crosses, and removes the Popeye nose art. If needed, I'm more than happy to make another version with either swastika kill markings but no Popeye, or Popeye but Iron Crosses, but it seemed excessive to make four separate uploads for a single competition. Мы с коллегами посмотрели, у нас не воспроизводится ни в ST, ни в MT. Возможно, проблема на вашей стороне. Из личного опыта - одно время у меня тоже были сильные фризы и я тоже начал задумываться о смене SSD, т.к. уже просто не знал в какую сторону копать. В итоге, причиной фризов оказался старый/битый sata шлейф. Из-за него один из дисков уходил в 100% активность, завешивая вообще весь комп. Но происходило это только под нагрузкой. Шлейф я этот выкинул, заменив его на нормальный и проблема исчезла..3 points

Updated 3/22/23 Makes canopy glass clear. Should apply to all modules but only tested on A10C-II, Hornet, A4E-C, Black Shark 3, and Viper. Adjustments: Last value of line 101 adjusts opacity. Default is 1 and 0 will be completely clear. Mod is preset to 0.2. Shadow on the glass is removed by default for better frame rate. If you want to restore the shadow, remove the comments (//) at beginning of line 88 and 89. Notes: This mod may also affect MFD and HUD glass if the module uses same material. Does not pass IC as of DCS 2.8.5 on 5/18/23 Install: Extract to DCS Main install path or use Mod manager. DOWNLOAD2 points

With the extra detailed and animated RAZBAM's Strike Eagle driver and upcoming Eagle Dynamics Hornet and Viper pilots, it would be really really nice game dynamic if: 1/ in case of AI downing / AI ejecting a SAR mission tasking was generated for human (or AI helo) + if a utility helo lands near downed aircrew they board the helo and trigger is generated so we can further action this. 'trigger action 'unit x boards rescue unit y' 2/ in case pilot ejected and landed in water, it uses floating device to stay afloat and wait for SAR. If the above is not feasible then perhaps we can get these pilots as personnel static object as with the deck crew. That way we could spawn / despawn them using Lua code.2 points

One last time, cussing, laughter and tears, and then it is all over. One more time to cuss about Paco's (actually the stupid AI) formation skills, one more time of hard laughter with Chig, and a secret little tear about the warm welcome a true naval hero receives, and then it is over. This is by far the best SP Campaign I ever played. Usually it is hard for me to do all missions, because I lose interest very quick, but not here. Man, will I miss all these characters and the unsat grading due to over-g. But rest assure, I will keep on returning to the RAG Missions to get gut. Thank you Reflected for this marvel.2 points

Setting up an airfield attack/escort mission for the Ka-50 with a TOT HARM attack with F-16s. SA-10 site with supporting SA-15 & 19s will require a saturation attack but I can't seem to be able to get the AI to fire more than one HARM at an emission source before picking and firing on another target. AI F-16 with 4 HARMs. So far I have tried Attack Group and set the release quantity to: ALL - Does not work 4 - Does not work Split task between two advanced waypoint actions and set release quantity to: Half & ALL - Does not work 2 & 2 - Does not work Finally, I made 4 waypoints and set the release quantity to 1 for each and that didn't work. I have repeated all this testing with Attack Unit as well. Making a Group attack does nothing and the only workaround is to add more flights that are not part of the same group. The only thing I can think of is that the AI will not fire on an emitter that it has already fired a missile at (if that missile is still in that air). Unless I'm missing something?2 points

I have come to believe that HB 100% knew back at the beginning of 2022 that this thing was at least 2 to 3 years away from being released. It was all a marketing gimmick and done to create hype and nothing more to lead people on believing it was further along than the reality was. even with the misfortune of world events that did throw a wrench in things. It is what it is but I personally believe it was a poor choice and still is to continue with total silence on it after creating all this hype and division. I think we deserve better than just "When its ready we will let you know." I know many others feel differently and mindlessly defend HB for some unknown reason . They are without a doubt the premiere developer for DCS but their public relations sure does not reflect that and needs improvement...2 points

Well they are planing to add boom and basket psychics so I guess it wont be easier. It is beneficial for users to adjust or tune pitch and roll axis so they can fly formation easy, and lots of practice and patience. But in my opinion if you make some easy basket mode how can it help you master AAR? It will just keep you on that lvl and you wont ever turn that easy mode off. Cause as soon as you turn it off you'll see that you cant keep up with it cause you haven't ever tried it the normal way. You can simulate easy mode AAR by not hooking up, and just flying under the tanker, keeping formation. Then when you feel ready try to hook up. Hope this helps.2 points

Please ensure you do not have my old Aquitaine D650 mod in your savegames/tech folder because that will cause a conflict and possibly crash your DCS and the Normandie mod will not appear in DCS. 2nd. I have attached my mod which I'm currently playing within DCS right now. The only change is I have disabled the Submarine Scripting in the D651_Normandie.lua file. 3rd. Upzip the Please Open Me file below and D651_Normandie DCS mod will be located inside the tech folder. I will also place the updated Normandie File on page #1 as well. Hi @GazAce So here is the thing how LSO works in DCS: Personally I think you are being affected by: Two or more of the above conditions are true at the same time for a 2 second or more duration or excessive glidepath and localizer deviation for more than 4 seconds. However, if you want to prove my theory wrong, and you want ED to accept as bug, please provide the track - you know that already anyway.2 points

To answer: 250 lbs HE is plenty to absolutely ruin an MBT on a direct hit, or even a very near miss. For comparison, the total charge of a 155 HE shell (also enough to break the crap out of a tank, and mission-kill/actually kill a tank on a direct hit, is only 14.6 lbs of HE filler. an SDB has 50 lbs of filler. That's equivalent HE to about three 155mms... or about the same explosive payload of a 12" (304mm) US WWI era battleship HE shell give or take a few lbs. For an idea of how very dead an MBT or any AFV will be being hit by about 50 lbs of HE filler... see below: Notice the largest crater is for a mere 152 Russian field gun with an HE charge of about 8 kg or 18 lbs of HE filler... less than half of the payload of the SDB. Meaning you can expect the tank to be quite shattered by a direct, or even near miss of an SDB. For indirect comparison on the -smaller- side... attached you will find an M1 Abrams MBT after a direct hit on the front right side of the tank by a slightly more modern 152mm HE artillery shell round. You will notice the tank is... not in working order. This is again, LESS THAN HALF THE HE PAYLOAD of an SDB. There is a 0% chance of a tank surviving an SDB hit anywhere on the tank itself, nor is it likely to survive a near miss. The CEP of an SDB 1 is between 3 and 8 meters. The length/width of an MBT is about 8x3m. Conveniently, assuming a static tank target... the SDB is effectively guaranteed to land close enough to either directly hit, or land within a few feet of a given part of the tank. The result will be catastrophic for the tank and crew regardless of if it is on the front, side, or rear. You will have the turret likely removed, turret ring shattered, tracks and suspension broken, power pack busted, fuel tanks and lines ruptured, and possibly ammunition cooked off. The crew, if buttoned up, have a very small chance of survival if the tank is struck by a frontal near miss. The SDB also has a hardened penetrator tip... enough to get through 5-8 feet of reinforced concrete. This is perhaps unlikely to penetrate the Tank itself on major armored faces, however, a top strike certainly will... and even if it detonated on contact, would buckle the tank top, hatches, and spall the crew inside to death easily. The reason 250 lbs bombs were unpopular in the past was that it required essentially a direct hit, or near miss to kill a tank, and 250 lbs bombs were a bit wimpy in area of effect for armored targets if you miss by a few dozen meters. Hence 500 lbs bombs (Mk82) series is the most popular dumb bomb type in NATO inventory. Good balance of payload numbers and effect against most anything you want to bomb. As a 500 lbs bomb can shatter an MBT from even a 20-30m distance, where a 250 lbs bomb cannot. But as was found in gulf War 1 and later, 500 lbs bombs with laser guidance and a CEP under 10m was massive overkill for a tank target. Hence the reduction in bomb size with the SDB series: Less weight and drag was beneficial when 50 lbs of HE filler puts your weapon on the order of power of small Battleship cannons. No tank is surviving any kind of hit from a naval-grade shell. Nor will it survive an SDB hit or near miss. No penetration necessary. Keep in mind DCS ground units that aren't infantry/trucks are EXTREMELY resistant to HE blast effects, much more so than real life vehicles/crews are. While many vehicles in DCS can survive near/moderate misses in real life, the "survive" means the crew isn't instantly killed/dead. The tracks come off, sensors/optics shatter, and mounted equipment is broken/ruined by such near misses... while in DCS, HP bars either move a bit or they don't, and more often than not, they don't move when they should and the damage model of Combined Arms ground forces is so simplistic that they suffer none of the major impacts near misses put on vehicles. I'd LOVE to see ED take a pass at improving blast-damage modeling for all ground vehicles in DCS, but especially armored vehicles of the IFV/Tank variety. I get asking for realistic fragmentation simulation would melt a big scale sim like DCS in multiplayer, but the blast radius could be improved/made realistic enough to apply things like mobility/firepower kills.2 points

I really miss the SAR servers.. will they ever come back.....? (DogOne) It really is a shame that these servers are down for so long.. you have a faithful and loyal fan base.. are you still interested in running the servers? Is there anything that can be done to help you keep these servers reliable and on line? Your servers provide a unique environment within DCS and it is a real shame not to be able to use them. You're likely having the same problem as all of us since the FLIR was broken many updates ago and still hasn't been fixed AFAIK. Objects are basically invisible in most circumstances no matter the brightness/contrast settings, BHOT/WHOT selection, time of day, terrain, etc. They just say that's how it's supposed to be or that we're doing something wrong, but it's not. I've flown IRL with the Litening pod (and Sniper pod) and the DCS image is not even close in most cases.1 point

In my opinion if it were all female models in DCS I wouldn't even notice, I'm not here for that, I'm here for aircraft simulation. To me all the human models don't even have a gender, I don't even look at them that way, to be honest until I saw some of these threads I didn't even notice that. F-16 and F-18 that I fly in are aircraft and they are always referred to as "she", same goes for ships, ships and aircraft gender is female. Did you notice people asking ED to make a male F-16 aircraft? Ofc you didn't, cause we don't care about that. Therefore I'm happy we can fly these beauties and enjoy the scenery, as for ED keep up the good work and bring us more toys in the future.1 point
