  2. Good Afternoon everyone. I hope you all are doing well. I just wanted to say thank you all for your interest in the DCS AI Ship mods. Your interest keeps me motivated to create more and more mods. With that said I would like to thank the person who contributed to my work. It means a lot. It tells me you appreciate the effort I'm putting in to create the mods. Hours and hours of trial and more errors but it's worth it. Thanks!!! I've updated the UK Pilot Boat livery Flag. The update is located under Small Vessels/Pilot Boat On another note, I will be MIA for a bit concentrating on creating more mods. If you need to reach me. Just send me a PM. Thanks.

  3. What are you a petulant child? The Sinai map isn't even made by ED so why are you punishing them for your childish point of view? It's like saying you won't buy a new GPS for your car because the post office hasn't delivered your new seat cushions yet. I thought DCS was a place for mature people but it would seem that I was wrong. Nothing but a lot of children in this thread.

  4. Not on my list until now. Thanks! I hope someone with more in depth knowledge of the F-16 and its system can answer your question. Yep, it would be a nice addition. Yeah, that's an issue with all the modern stuff, it's a lot harder to survive them. Lone wolf gung-ho attacks just won't cut it any more. Thanks! There is only so much I can implement without detailed insight in DCS core and the possibility to influence change of it. I have to implement modern features using the few tools that DCS core offers for land and sea assets. It takes a lot of creativity and workarounds. As an example, the fact that rockets and bombs aren't detected because they lack RCS makes these kind of implementations hard to achieve well. So, it's not because of the "free mod" issue. Even if I would fully charge for it, the exact limitations would be there. I mean, you won't find APS on any DCS core assets. In general, I wouldn't be ashamed to describe my assets as more realistic and full-featured than core DCS.

  6. Thanks a lot! I am worried that there are negative reviews, I rested a bit and will solve these problems. But believe me, we did a lot in a small team in 1.5 years to get users to start flying. And now we have the next stage - to make a map as we originally intended! This is the first product for our team, and in 1.5 years it was necessary not only to do something on the map, but also to work out the work of the team for further development. I, as a leader, will say that this is a very good experience. Even communication with users helps a lot and I learned a lot of new things about dcs. Thanks for the support, thanks for the tips!

  7. The Sinai Tourist Map Project Tourist Map V3.0 - 20240811 (some 100 new attractions!) The Sinai Map is chock full of beautiful sights (and sites) that I enjoy to explore at leisure. I have put together a map that maps out some of the many attractions that I found and want to see, and this map is exactly that: a map of tourist attractions, things that you, too, may want to see. CONSULT YOUR TOUR GUIDE! There's an interactive tour guide available that you can engage over Communications-->Other. The Tour Guide will list the five closest attractions to your current location (the labelled locations on the F-10 Map view) more importantly, guide you to the closest attraction by constantly giving you bearing, "clock directions" and distance. if you still can't find the attraction (some are difficult to find), the tour guide can even mark the location with blue smoke for you. Use the tour guide to make sure that you don't miss any of the great attractions that the great people over at OnReTech have put into this map. (Remember that attractions that are listed on the map in "Quotes" are at this point in time the real-world location of important land marks that do not (yet) have a representation on this map - but may at a later date.) For those of you who aren't afraid to curtail this mission in Mission Editor: You can easily place and position your favorite aircraft on the map Put them close to an attractions if you don't like the pre-selected slots that I'm providing with this map. Tour Guides won't mind, they work with any player aircraft at any location. You can change also time of day to get some better impressions. Sun up is around 05:50, sundown around 17:50 (5:50pm) Oh, and yes, there's civilian traffic on the Suez Canal, and in the air Change Log V3.0: some 120 new attractions all over the map (my thanks to ORT for providing me with the locations) V2.0: Civilian air traffic Tour Director (yeah) Sinai Tourist uses DML IMPORTANT: If you find an interesting or beautiful detail in this map, please post its location and perhaps name/description below, and I will try to include it into the tourist map as soon as possible. The current map has labels for the attractions that I have found. Some locations are in Quotes ("), like "Massada". This is for locations that I hope to find something there, when the talented people from @OnReTech get around to populate it with the appropriate models. The miz's time of day it 05:50, sunrise. You may want to change that for better local 'atmosphere' for the particular spot that you are interested in. Also, most aircraft across the map are the Gazelle (which since the release of the new flight model that coincided with Sinai's release has become a really nice model). You may want to add your own preferred aircraft close to the sight that you want to visit. Some examples that this map has marked: Some strangely triangular buildings More mirrors than you can shake a brush at: Someone suspiciously looking like Ahsoka playing in the sand at sundown Download: And here's the Tourist Map: (please click here) -- ED's User Files

  8. The pilot is the same, you can see it here: As for the animation of external gauges, I think it will work. And on the cornering speed issue, it's early days yet, but the manual describes everything, so I'll do something about it. I'm also slowly working on both the external model improvements, and the cockpit animations are also in progress. And finally, let me give you one small (but of great importance to me) surprise. I have joined team AviaStorm! Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for news!

  10. Looking at F-15E loadout, you made that all CFT pylons are grouped as single slot. That limits loadout options very much and requires adding all possible combinations of loadouts. And it strikes at pilots who fly BlueFlag-like missions where bomb count is limited. Please at least separate those to 2 levels so 2 weapon types can be combined on CFT hardpoints.

  13. So I took the new Gazelle out for about an hour last night and wanted to say thank you for updating the FM. I honestly did not expect it to happen before the Kiowa and I'm thrilled that you decided to do it. Previously my biggest issues were the control hypersensitivity and the way it held bank like a fixed wing aircraft. Both of those have been dealt with; It now flies like a helicopter should, and that's so awesome. For the first time I'm able to fly around the streets of Beirut and keep it between all the light posts without any trouble. I also found myself in VRS by surprise a couple times Nice work on the update, seriously. With that said, there are a couple things I noticed that don't seem quite right to me that you might already be aware of... 1. The Gazelle should require some aft and right cyclic in a hover with calm winds, right? Well, right now it requires aft and left cyclic, but wants to roll right so hard that it still hangs right skid low. Something is generating a lot of right roll that probably shouldn't be. **Edit** Apparently this is correct. It just struck me as unusual for a clockwise rotating helicopter. 2. The engine still seems to be able to spool up and meet any demand I place on it instantaneously. Like, if I'm sitting on the ground and go from 0 to 100% collective in a split second, it should cause a significant drop in rotor RPM while the engine spools up and tries to deal with the increased demand, but instead the rotor RPM is maintained and it just launches straight up. Oh, and unrelated to the FM, but the rotor disc sound seems to have a Flanging Effect that is really clearly audible, at least to my ears. Dunno if there's anything you can do about it but I don't hear it in the other helis. Overall I think it's a really nice update and makes the Gazelle so much more enjoyable to fly, but there are some smaller issues that would be nice to get ironed out in future patches.

But when I looked at it there are a lot of modern buildings, water pools, red and yellow trucks and a lot of colored containers...wtf? I want historical map for more immersion. But I`ve bought Sinai to dogfight on MiG-19/21/17 through modern era? Really?

  18. The flickering in the video below shows up very frequently while flying. Many times in the same mission. It makes this map annoying and unplayable. I shortened the video to one such encounter to fit it here. But it will go and come many, many times while flying a mission. I have all the other maps and I have never encountered this problem before. SinaiFlicker.mp4 Cairo.miz dcs_sinai_flicker.log SinaiFlashing.trk

  19. That is a very different issue than the speedgate settling time. The speedgate settling includes the 2 seconds for the radar to settle, and 2 more seconds for the missiles speedgate to settle. This is all before you commit the launch. once you commit the launch there will still be a delay from trigger squeeze to missile launch as the missile goes through its launch process. You cannot make the commit time happen any faster without hardware changes. you can shoot the missile before the speedgate settles if you don't wait for the four seconds, which has a high probability of a ballistic launch that does not guide. Again the speedgate issue in particular only applies to AIM-7E, E-2, and E-3. F's M's and better all do not have that particular delay or issue. If you have a good lock you can shoot 7F, M, MH, or P immediately. There will still be a commit time and a launch process that will result in the missile taking a second or so after you squeeze the trigger to come off the rail, but you do not have to wait any more time.

  22. See https://forum.dcs.world/topic/299598-trying-to-connect-the-individuals-that-made-the-performance-enhancement-in-vr-to-the-dcs-devs/ for getting MSFS-like DFR. That was ignored for over a year. Anyway even with that, you wouldn't be getting anywhere near the gains we are getting on Aero (where I used a completely different technique than the one I used for MSFS, which yields much much better gains). The set of features supported on Quest Pro is just very poor when it comes to implementing this stuff, and their prerequisites for enable eye tracking are super bogus. Quest Pro is obviously in my opinion not a platform that Meta wants to succeed for PCVR. Do yourself a favor and swap it for an Aero if you want to enjoy good DFR in DCS and great PCVR in all games!

  23. Yes, they have removed the auto-hover feature "for consideration". I noticed this too. You just can't use the air-to-ground missiles right now unless you have a human crew member, it seems. Still - the reworked flight model feels like a huge improvement to me - after I tinkered with the axis settings. This is a beautiful update and I am enjoying the flight model and flitting around the pyramids in new Sinai map. It is now possible to do really controlled delicate landings. I notice the chopper has become very weight sensitive - and this is a good thing. I do hope they bring back the auto-hover feature to allow single players to use the air to ground missiles again, though...I know that it is a compromise to allow a single player to do both crew tasks, but - that was an important 'compromise' and it really raised the fun-factor for me.

  24. @daemon1808 You may have to review your testing conditions. In the video i see the M variant with the big Viviane system mounted on top and 100% fuel? The Viviane sight alone comes with extra 800 pounds. In this configuration you are already operating at the borderline (over 4000 lbs) and no wonder the engine is under so much stress. In this config i need ~60% collective to get the skids of the ground which totally makes sense. Please try something totally different, select the L variant and 50% fuel and check for "Civil Version" in the mission editor. This brings her down to ~ 3000 lbs and that is much more how she likes it. Don't forget that the module was a overpowered, weightless abomination for 7 years, basically everything was completely wrong the whole time. In this configuration i need ~ 45% collective to get her off the ground. This looks very good for me, the more i test it the more i like the new Gazelle... General tip for all DCS helicopters: always take the amount of fuel you really need - weight is the enemy of every helicopter. 50% fuel is enough for almost everything unless you need to keep it in the air for hours or have to travel huge distances. After looking into the weight thing more deeply i saw that removing the doors has no effect on weight, would be cool if this could make her loose some extra pounds...

  34. Hello! First, I have to say Thanks a lot to the new developer on DCS!! Without you we don't have enjoyment. I am a developer for another simulator, making planes and have been working as a 3D artist for several years already for the game industry. So Thanks a lot and I understand how hard it is to make something. Second. Thanks for the great price. I think it is the best quality map for the price for sure. Apart from the Normandy2 that only cost me 10$ (but of course previously I had to pay 2 maps to have that one). So... First I have to say that I was not very impressed with the announcement, some years ago, of the map. But following the news I was convinced, and after the youtube pre release reviews, I wanted to buy it. BUT one thing I was expecting as HELO VIRTUAL PILOT in VR is the new tessellation of the terrain polygons. I saw this picture in the development process and I was convinced that I would play with my Apache hiding in any little hole in the map. null BUT the day of having the map I was flying and then I saw this: And that is the old spike polygons that we see in all the DCS maps. So maybe I was not lucky to find the new tessellation, or maybe it is still not present and it will be in future updates? (I ask this without any sarcasm, for sure!!!) Please, tell me that it will be included in the future. The product says this: Implementation of new procedural generation technology of land textures and normal map textures for mountains. This provides a new level of detail to DCS maps. Use of new technologies to create improved height maps that result in an accurate surface mesh. and while I clearly see as a 3D artist the normal maps in all the high altitude flights, near them I just see the old polygons tessellation. And believe me I have all graphics full. In a map, where there is a lot of desert, any dune that can be represented in 3D is a must for hiding behind to attack enemy lines. I hope this can be improved in future. And of course. THANKS again for giving us the map with more conflicts per KM2 of the full world four our joy.

  38. Как всегда, никакой конкретики - только субъективные ощущения в стиле "летающий компьютер так летать не должен" А что там может смутить? FFB?

  41. 1. In wartime all lights are out. Runways, taxiways, airfield facilities, even the surrounding cities in order to hinder visual navigation/targeting. Which is still moot in the modern era. Even with all lights out an adversary will be able to find the airfields with GPS coordinates and a FLIR pod. 2. The region is not currently in wartime. If wartime light discipline is to be simulated, have it triggered by a certain date range in the ME like Normandy 2.0 does with its runway and city lighting. 3. DCS ATC only lights up one runway even when there are parallell or multiple runways. DCS ATC has known issues with windspeed/direction, sometimes giving you the wrong runway. DCS ATC does not know individual airfield procedures. DCS ATC does not know multiplayer group procedures. If a multiplayer group wants to do parallel landings, they can't because the DCS ATC only lights up one of the two runways. 4. Marianas, Syria, PG, Falklands, Normandy 2.0 (1946 or later date) maps do not require the user to call ATC for runway lighting. 5. I am unable to find any photographic, video, or English-language evidence that runway lights are turned off in the region.

The Apache was delayed about 6 months and didn't even come out till March of 2022 when they said it was going to be out in December 2021, and the pre-orders launched even earlier than that. 44. Agreed: the new height map was one of the main attractions for me as a helo pilot but I don't see it anywhere. Seems to be a regular 50m mesh or more? Disappointing as we were specifically told this would be there. @OnReTech any thoughts please? All these shots were taken on the actual Sinai peninsula so I'd assume high detail there in the centre of the map.

The only reason I can keep the up the busy release schedule is by doing stuff I find fun and without the pressure of roadmaps and other external factors. I always have several projects going on in parallel and will switch around a lot. The order of release is completely up to my brain to decide at a given moment.

  47. The OP is right, this behavior is described in the A1-F18AC-742-100, section 011 03, page 8, paragraph 64. To be precise, changing Bar setting should select the largest azimuth scan option, unless the pilot has previously selected a smaller azimuth setting manually. In that case, the manually selected setting is maintained, if it's possible to do so. Example: 4B scan starts with 40 degrees, pilot selects 20 degrees. Pilot switches to 2B, the 20 degree setting is maintained. If the pilot had not manually selected the 20 degree setting, then upon selecting 2B, the azimuth setting should automatically go to 80 degrees.
