I'm going to make this short and sweet. For those out of the know. There is a guy who created OpenXR Toolkit, Quad-layer support for various headsets and much more. Some of these tools are developed for DCS specifically in mind. Not only that, but those applications were created in spare time out of the goodness of this man's heart. His name is Matthieu Bucchianeri known as mbucchia on the forum One thing that struck me is that he always declined any contributions for his work. Has never asked for anything in return and actively continued donating his time for the benefit of our niche [within a niche within a niche] I feel he is far too humble to mention it, but I thought it would be of interest to some within our small community that this page now exists: https://github.com/sponsors/mbucchia15 points

With due respect I think you're taking the wrong message here. With regards to preorder/EA vs waiting for a full release, you're never going to make everybody happy, that's nothing new. Personally I have no issue with preorders and early access, I fully understand that there will be a wait when I hit that buy button and that the EA release will have limitations (I'm looking at you Viper!) and/or bugs. That's fine. The issue with regards to this module is not so much that though. There were statements directly from you, ("you" being ED in general,) saying things like "Release imminent," and "Coming in hot!" Then a sudden flood of YouTube content creator videos, especially from some pretty small channels. All indications that a release is very near. Then all of the sudden there is a 2 second bit at the end of an RB video that states another two month wait. For the longest time EDs only statement was basically "We never gave a release date, we'll tell you when we're ready," and RB saying "It wasn't us." Meanwhile there was, and still is, a flood of content creator videos being posted daily on YouTube. Then a statement of "We found an issue." Ok, fine, that happens in a testing phase, nothing wrong with that. But again, even with this issue that was found, YouTube videos are being posted daily, mission runs, tutorials etc., not from RB until recently, but relatively small content creators showing the module in what looks like a pretty EA releasable state. I love DCS but frankly EDs responses can leave a lot to be desired. With this issue it took a couple of weeks to get a one sentence statement, and others that TBH felt like throwing a victim flag. You guys need to work on your communication when it comes to issues, simply saying "We never gave you a release date," after you, RB and the YouTube CCs gave every indication that it was ready for release isn't going to cut it. If something came up, fine, say that, get in front of it and make an actual statement. It's not so much that there was an issue, its been your response, or lack of one to said issue that has, quite frankly understandably, frustrated a lot of people.12 points

We’re constantly evaluating and looking for areas to improve. I checked the high alpha handling again last night and it’s correct. The rudders do blank and reduce roll rate at the extreme alpha values that sim pilots use, far beyond what was typical in real life. For example, the only time I ever accepted a flat scissors was when on cruise with tanks and ordnance, restricted to a short mil power 1v1 due to fuel considerations. Pegged AOA below 100 knots is a great way to die. I have papers in work for a host of subjects, including wing rock and realistic buffet cues and employment; trim, inflight refueling, general handling, spin entry and recovery, vertical recovery, CASE I landings, etc. It’s going to be awhile before they are added to Fat Creason’s performance page, where they will be easy to find, because the gang is thrashing like mad men on the F4, and I am somewhat wounded at the moment. Until then, read, and reread the FM performance paper that has already been posted. The F14B is already complete, but for the reasons above, hasn’t been added. If you think that the F14 is a handful due to wing rock and rudder inputs and handling at high alpha, wait ‘till you see the F4… Good luck, Fly pretty.10 points

That is something DCS is really lacking at the moment. I've been messing around trying to find a way to make this happen. But the only examples of this I can find in game is within paid modules where the aircraft is guiding the missile. Haven't seen this done with AI yet, unfortunately. 2S38 SPAAG 1.3.0 released! Changelog Version 1.3.0 Changed engine sound Fixed avoidance to attack ground based targets with APFSDS Fixed track dust and dirt positioning Fixed tracks clipping through ground7 points

Couldn’t have said it better. The line of “we never gave a release date” is a bit disingenuous given that just a few weeks prior ED was posting on their twitter that it was “coming in hot” and that “soon you’ll be flying…” Havent checked in a while but last I did, that twitter post was still there. If you found a mistake, it is what it is, but say so, and maybe provide a more clear timeline. I’ve long said the problem isn’t early access, it’s the communications and marketing practices around the early access that frustrates people. Anyway, thanks for the continued efforts to make a successful launch, and thanks to the moderators for dealing with our gripes.6 points

Did you fire more than one missile? If you don't configure separate fire missions for each missile DCS will bug out. Use missile count = 1 for each line. It's been on my list for a while, but it bugs me that I haven't figured out a way to get the prop spinning.5 points

Advanced inverse kinematics/pilot body animations, tail buffeting, wing fatigue damage, elements of radar modeling, it's just a few things i've noticed - all of that sets the highest standard. Good job. If RAZBAM would make a Cold War fighter variant F-15A or C as well in the future I would hardly ever leave my basement. Overall RAZBAM progress over the last few years is fantastic. It's a top notch developer.4 points

I've incorporated the F-15E Strike Eagle to my two Red Flag missions. #1 is an air to ground focused mission, while #2 is focused on air to air. You can download them at the links below: RED FLAG MISSION 1 - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331604/ RED FLAG MISSION 2 - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331605/ Hope you enjoy them!4 points

Hey guys! Last weekend at Pratica di Mare Air Base there was a big airshow to celebrate a hundred years of Aeronautica Militare. Many warbirds (P-51s,Spitfire, P-47, P-38, F-86, G.91, F-104, etc) and modern airplanes (Eurofighter, F-35A and B, Tornado, AMX, etc), all of which served in Italy's air force at one point or another, were flown in front of thousands of people. And, of course, both days were closed by a Frecce Tricolori performance. So, here's some pictures from the Saturday display; they're taken with a compact camera, with automatic settings, and are not edited, so nothing fancy, I just wanted to share with you these exhilarating moments of aviation. I'll post pictures of other aircrafts in the relevant forums, if there is one. Enjoy!4 points

I'm going through all assets, including the Swedish pack and updating them to my current standard. During this process I will most likely split up the pack like my other assets.4 points

It might be important to note that, due to a bug, the laser guidance is currently not tracking the object itself, but the terrain behind it. In most cases this wont be noticable, but if you are flying in a very shallow angle (or are trying to paint a flying aircraft or helo), this can have a subtle effect on the tracking. The mentioned bug is fixed internally already and will be in an upcoming patch4 points

Thank you for your valued feedback it is appreciated and will try to take it on board for the future. Pre-orders can seem like a long time sometimes, we know this, and for some the hype train can be overwhelming, but we have to ensure everything is as good as it can be for early access release and still be building up excitement and letting people know about the pre-order. Pre-order is coming to an end and I am sure you will enjoy this great module once in your hands. best regards bignewy4 points

I see the F-15E has landed, worse - without the promised announcement that we will know when EA will be released (of course it was stated that the price would be increased upon release). The situation is strange and inconsistent with what was before that there will be a release date. It's not about whether it's 30 or 50 or 20%, still 20% is a good opportunity to enjoy such an advanced bird , but the approach to this is very strange and not cool that it happens by surprise and without official notice, even 1 day before. In this respect, these are not e-market standards.3 points

This is, for me, one of the biggest downsides of "module purchasing" model. If it were subscription model, they are "obligated" to produce regular updates, fix bugs, etc. With the module purchasing model, it's more lucrative to simply focus on new things and capture the money of those that haven't yet spend theirs on the products. Therefore, you can end up with Warbirds that have bugs going back YEARS, that no one addresses, because: hey, they already bought the module. They can use it, or park it in the hangar, we already got paid for that module, moving on. Obviously, with smaller teams and roadmaps, they have to prioritize something and focus on something, they cannot work and fix everything. But the level of neglect on the WWII area is really, in my opinion, beyond acceptable ranges.3 points

I have since checked out images of Ramon and there are no trees growing in the areas on the airfield as I thought there should not be. Although they look good, would you please correct this and on the other bases? Many thanks Lee3 points

Yeah, I know the background Story with the Phantom, I was very very disappointed when I learned that it was postpobed/canceled. Thats why I said last year that I'm extremely happy that HB took over the Project and make it not only their new Flagship Module but also having it served as Software Framework for future Modules, incl. Jester 2.0 which are all in all reasons to be extremely happy. I do not blame them for missing release Windows, but I'm a friend of meaningfull Communication. Thats why I made the above Statement which I mean to be a general Process (not only HB) as the Community wont get unnecesarrily hyped and then Disappointed like the Kiowa Drama (please refuse to act on that example, I also know the background with Polychop). I still believe that Dev Teams in general would have an easier life if their Products would be announced past QA Test and when a release date can be given. But I mentioned that way too often and it does not seem to care anyone, thus Dev Teams have to life with a hyped and mad Community if goals cant get reached as planned.3 points

I know some people feel that decoupling the wind and wave height might allow unrealistic scenarios but what we currently have is unrealistic as well. If you use any of the publicly available wind/wave calculators out there, you will realize that, currently, significant wave height is roughly 1/4 of what it should be. As an example, a 20m/s (38.9 kt) wind with a decent fetch and bottom depth should produce a significant wave height of around 71ft. In the sim, you get about 17ft. There are a number of other issues with the modeling of the sea state but, at least where wind driven wave height is concerned, allowing users to set the wave height would solve the wave height problem. Of course, simply adjusting the wave height to wind speed ratio would solve the issue, too. And that might be even simpler.3 points

I'm under NDA and seriously aviators, I can't tell you what I'm doing or what I'm working on, and unless ED releases news, all this is just guesswork and conspiracies on the forum. And I didn't say anywhere that I canceled work on the project. That's about all I can say about it.3 points

Due to the criticism I am receiving from several people, about the "unofficial" Roadmap content, about some youtubers content claiming to be SPAM (example, the content created by youtubers about the RAZBAM F-15E), I recommend to everyone here not to post unofficial videos, being only from ED or 3rd Parties from now on. I apologize to the people who did like that content. Sincerely Silver_Dragon.3 points

Is it not working as it used to do. System target should be a hollow square, which never appears. And while in TMS, TMS right short should designate all into system targets which does not, although you can then with another presses on TMS Right, cycle between "system targets", which are still more like Track targets (full squares). f16-rcr_tws_track_to_sytem.trk3 points

No problem. In many Helicopters the tilt (both in lateral and longitudinal direction) of the main shaft and rotorhead is optimized for cruise flight. Meaning that the helicopter is in balance at cruise speed with a straight body orientation. That comes with a slight tilt aft and sideways when hovering stationary. Wouldn't be surprising if it was the same for the gazelle.2 points

All I ask is that the flight model be as realistic as possible. If the Gazella behaves in life like it does now in DCS, then it should stay that way and only change if the current one is really not good. But don't change because we cry on the forum..2 points

Hey guys! First of all, @6S.Duke and the team, thanks for this fix. I've been more or less vocal about this bug, lately, both here and on Discord, and knowing that you guys are working on a solution, even if we don't see or hear anything from you, it's reassuring. That said, unfortunately the bug is still here, even though it might be less obnoxious than before. I'm gonna post some tracks, hoping they're not corrupted and can be of help. I set up a couple of 339s with high weight in a training mission of mine in Caucasus and used a couple of airports where I knew the bug presented itself, Anapa and Kobuleti. All tests were run on the single threaded version of DCS. In some of them (tracks 1 and 6 to 8), I set up a 55 degree (direction from where the wind is coming) 6 knots wind, with no turbulence; in the others (tracks 2 to 7 and 9), wind is coming from the same direction, but it's 12 knots and there's a 6 *0.1 feet turbulence. As you'll see (hopefully), the crashes (IIRC) all happened on the missions with the strongest wind settings; also, it appears to me that it happens only when there's full rudder/nosewheel applied, or there are strong lateral forces on the airframe; IIRC when I taxied without too much steering, even at high speed, there were no occurances of the bug. I hope these tracks and my little report can be of help to finally squash this nasty bug. If you guys want me to run some specific test, just ask. One more thing: in the last tracks you can see that NW steering deactivates itself when I steer at high speed or on the grass: is that normal? Could it be somehow related to the issue at hand? Yes I believe that is the way it should work, as I said though it is scheduled to be worked on so how well it works now might not be as expected. One thing I need to check is if G warmup works in warbirds, just thought I have never checked.2 points
