Why would you feel compelled to spend time negatively responding to a post in which players are trying to note impacting game change observations to help others out and to find out if there's something which needs attention from ED? I honestly don't understand people like you who feel that then have to weigh in on conversations others are having. I personally came here to see if others are having this issue too and so this conversation was helpful. As other stated, the significantly increased load times can impact people who are trying to adjust settings or are troubleshooting other issues (such as I have been doing). Take your poor attitude elsewhere please. Nobody needs to hear it here.7 points

Increased load and shutdown times. Would like to see some transparency from ED Even with DCS on the fastest m.2 drive money can buy its a noticeably degrading performance each patch5 points

Hi all, unfortunately a bug was introduced in the last update that broke the Mistral. This has been resolved internally and will be pushed in the next OB update. I am sorry this happened, unfortunately the nature of the last patch release meant we were not able to test our pushed changes effectively. We are changing our internal process to be more thorough and hopefully prevent issues like this happening again.5 points

Oh, come on, correct as is? If this is how it would be made IRL, I doubt anyone would even want to fly an aircraft - just because of that, too damn dangerous. Check F-5E for example, it's made MUCH better, there is still some work to do regarding repositioning symbols, but MUCH better - you at least know how many aircrafts is out there facing you. But ok, it's your game, your choice, I'm just saying this what we have now, no make no sense what so ever - regardless your change log. Image bellow shows same example with F-5E and F-16: I am trying hard to find some proof, to convince ED in fixing F-16's IP-1310/ALR. And so please you can help me here guys. Any kind of proof would be amazing for all of us.4 points

If you try to fiddle around with VR settings and need to restart DCS each time you would think a little different, I assure you. Clearly I have better things to do than sitting and waiting for a loading screen. When you only start DCS one time the evening I would not have a problem with that for sure (despite the fact it still is an increase of more than 300 %).4 points

Hello friends. I have very long DCS startup times with the newest 2.8.6.41393 OpenBeta Update. I can perfectly replicate the issue by rolling back and forth between the last two updates - I measured the time from clicking the shortcut until the main-menu is fully loaded after second launch (DCS MT, VR and no-VR have the same loading times) - shaders folders were already re-established: DCS 2.8.6.41066 Open Beta MT: 35 seconds average (the auth-verification takes alone around 10 seconds) DCS 2.8.6.41363 Open Beta MT: 120 seconds on average (the auth-verification takes alone around 40 seconds) I already did slow repair with extra file inspection and deleted the SavedGames/DCS folder after switching between updates. Issue persists. Something is clearly off with the newest 2.8.6.41393 OpenBeta. Anyone else?3 points

Yes indeed a lovely update, an entirely new chopper to learn. It almost upsets me that the Kiowa may not be in the same league for agility. Loved my last flight with the AP off.... light weight fluidity! You simply rode the weight of the machine. Fabulous work Polychops and done the right way! I am sure there is more work to do..... but Bravo Polychops! Bravis!3 points

This recent update (with F-15E) is so slow to load for me and a couple of my friends. Takes about 2.25 mins to get to the main menu! Usually takes about 15-20 seconds. Very slow in going back to desktop as well. Didn't see a post about this already.3 points

When I get home I'll check my Kill-0-Watt to get you the powerdraw with a 7800X3D and a 4090. ... As a bonus, I'll do it without digging into my dusty pockets and bringing up a 5800X3D and DDR4 for some irrelevant reason.3 points

I would like to contribute some more logs. Having DCS installed and running on my second PC behaves with exactly the same issues regarding startup-time. These are the results after updating to DCS 2.8.6.41363 Open Beta and slow-repair, second startup: dcs MT 2.8.6.41363.log around 100 seconds with MT dcs ST 2.8.6.41363.log around 93 seconds with ST Rolling back (slow repair and second startup) to prior update DCS 2.8.6.41066 Open Beta results in: dcs MT 2.8.6.41066.log around 30 seconds with MT dcs ST 2.8.6.41066.log around 30 seconds with ST3 points

Minor Update for those still wanting WSO UFC and have not already grabbed Norsk-L's excellent profile! I'll be working on Engine and Fuel Data blocks next...please do let me know if I've made any further silly mistakes or if the UFC outputs seems to hang/fail as I've minimal safeguards coded at the moment. Unlike everyone who flys the hornet in real life who all have the same setup! We all don't have the same setups sensitivities etc. , please fix it. No point prolonging the torture.3 points

Thx to @Trigati, who created the Lua file. I was able to create the stream deck profile for F15E the full cockpit, both Pilot and WSO, link to download: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331670/ the entire plane is there with functional ufc data output No fuel count was added as in F15E, fuel count is straightforward to read.3 points

+1 in VR. Via MT, over 3mins from Auth Login Screen to DCS Main Menu. MP server list is taking quiet a bit longer to populate DCS freeze upon Existing Game, almost like a system lockup when existing M.T @BIGNEWY Can this be looked into per above ^ I'm sure we are not the only ones with above issues since latest O.B Thank you kindly.3 points

reverb g2. not running mt. yep same problem here. went from a 1 minute load to about 3 minute load. Also, exiting dcs takes a lot longer now too. annoying as hell.3 points

No it's not. DCS Beta is basically the "up 2 date" version of DCS and the majority of the community exclusively use the beta branch to play, because there are basically no downsides to use that branch. I can't remember ever using the stable of DCS and never had any game breaking bugs or other problems in the Beta. So my advice would be to just hop over to the Beta and enjoy all the new content early.3 points

Stop making things up. To clarify that: SVKSniper has joined us with his expertise to help make the Tornado the best Tornado possible. He is a very skilled 3D Artist and we are happy to have him with us. The SU-22M4 is however still SVKSniper's project, not ours. If we can support him with FREE resources and/or contacts we will, but it is still his baby and he will continue working on it. I hope this clears the air a little bit on the relationship between SKV and AviaStorm.3 points

Advanced inverse kinematics/pilot body animations, tail buffeting, wing fatigue damage, elements of radar modeling, it's just a few things i've noticed - all of that sets the highest standard. Good job. If RAZBAM would make a Cold War fighter variant F-15A or C as well in the future I would hardly ever leave my basement. Overall RAZBAM progress over the last few years is fantastic. It's a top notch developer.2 points

I think you read too much into his statement. He said "believable", not "difficult". And I would agree - also I don't find it more difficult than any other Helicopter in DCS. Once you know where your controls need to be, you're golden. There is a "dead zone" in the power curve, where the torque doesn't increase although you keep raising the collective in a linear motion. This is something I find a bit quirky. But things like that, if wrong, will be ironed out over time. The new FM is a first throw. It hasn't been tweaked yet. Do you guys know any FM in DCS that was perfect right from the get go? I certainly don't.2 points

The three things, QHN, QFE and field elevation are linked, and knowing any two you can calculate the other. 1mb of pressure is approx 27ft, but to make the maths easier we can call it 30ft. If you know QNH and QFE then the difference in mb x 30 will give you the field elevation. If you know the field elevation and QNH (arriving from a cross-country, un-manned tower, no ATIS, paper chart in your grubby mitt), then QFE is QNH - (field elevation/30). For example, if the field elevation is 600ft, and QNH 1021mb, then QFE is QNH-(600/30) or about 1001mb. Setting this should give you an accurate 1000ft AGL circuit and will read zero on the ground. If you have no chart or QFE, but a RADALT, then either do a run and break at 1000ft AGL along the runway and make a mental note of the pressure altitude, and use this as your circuit height, or do a standard overhead join with 2000ft on the RADALT over the departure end of the runway, and again, make a mental note of the pressure altitude, then subtract 1000ft for circuit height. You can use these methods with any pressure setting, as you are simply flying a constant altitude, through the circuit. I hope that makes sense.2 points

Here a track to show the radar elevation position AXIS resets on the bugged contact in SAM mode. (I use an absolute axis rotary like in the RL Hotas) I've put a plane HIGH and another at my altitude circa, so after bumping up elevation to find the first one, i should see the second one just diving my antenna until i feel the center detent, this is not happening, so i dive my axis more deep down until i find the co-altitude plane. In the second track instead i managed to reproduce in a very similar situation the antenna not recentering on bugged contact, and working correctly allowing me to scan at the desidered elevation commanded by my rotary knob. I don't know how it happened but it happened twice in this track, i think you can easily debug and discover how i magically fixed the antenna . At the same time in this track i've put A1 to show how the antenna go back on the bugged contact at increased frequency, so fast that it's quite an inefficent scan(i think the narrower should be likely the only one capable to complete a scan in SAM). Seems the frequency of "going back to check the track" is not related to a time factor but to how much of the azimuth scan set has been sweeped, this leads frequency of "go back and check" to be coupled to the azimuth (A1/A3/A6) setting. Note: these strange behaviours (all of them) wasn't there on the first implementations of RWS/SAM/DTT. It worked very well in the past, and the intervals seemed to be more consistent and DTT was more efficient. Something in the last 6 months happened and messed this up. Guidance laws helping missiles not fly themselves into the ground or sea have existed since the 50's, in particular there are research papers for USN warships using missiles vs sea skimming targets ( ... like other missiles ). Here it's purely ED's choice to implement or not, but I would hope they'd add such capability ... this is unfortunately subjective regarding which missile gets what without actual data but it's very, very far from being improbable.2 points

Hi, sorry you are frustrated, this is the normal patch cycle for any release, before we can patch the stable version we need to gather data and look for any issues that would create problems for the stable version. Newly released modules do state open beta is required initially on the store page. The update for stable version is not just about one module but the whole of DCS so it does take some time, as soon as we are happy we will update stable version, but at this time I have no date to share. Please keep an eye on the patch status post below thanks2 points

I have started multiple projects based on requests in this thread, but most haven't held my interest long enough to progress very far. However, this one *might* make a release. I make no promises - it is a lot of time & effort to make one of these mods and I admit my motivation is dwindling. Most of the subject matter that I focus on is very esoteric. This means that I struggle to justify the amount of work to publicly release a mod for a few community downloads. So, that said, let me know if there is continued interest in the Global Hawk / Triton and if there are any specific liveries desired.2 points

Bumping this, seriously we either need the *option* to revert the TDC change, or to change the other screens to match the performance of the radar screen. Probably both. My complaint comes down not to "the radar speed is bad" but that "the screens are different from each other and that *CAN'T* be correct". I do have my questions about if this is the performance it exhibits in flight, given the iron cross (basically the only thing you can make out at 240p for 3 seconds).. but my bigger question is what about the other screens???? Surely they are the same sensitivity right?!! If you are going to spend millions on a jet, and try to make it as combat capable as possible, where seconds count, surely you make the sensitivity the same, right????! At the very least, we have other accessibility options to support the hardware players use, and literally nobody is using real hornet TDC sensors - we should be able to use the radar screen without loosing the SA page entirely to it being unusably slow, because we don't custom mod our hotas to use a rare $750 sensor, even if this is the real functionality, where the sensitivity is wildly different. TLDR, fix it fix it fix it, even as a menu option, just fix it, please oh god fix it.2 points
