  1. Hello, Nick Sovremenny is coming along well. It's a WIP!! Thanks, Beldin. Yes, Timex3 the new version will be released once testing is complete. On another note, I will be creating mods at my own pace from this day forward. Rushing out mods only puts pressure on me and pressure brings problems. So once I'm close to creating a mod I will post some photos of it and you can expect the mod to be released soon thereafter. Sovremenny is the next mod to be released after the HMS Albion and support boats. I'm finishing up the Albion now. Once I feel it's complete I will release her. Thank you all for your patience.

  3. Hi destroyers! "Add damage models to objects" - this was one of the most popular requests for the Syria map. The peculiarity of modern buildings is that they are large in size or height. To make the destruction look more or less realistic, we divided large objects into parts and made a separate "damage" for each. When technology allows, we will be happy to make fully destructible building models. but already now you can diversify your flight missions thanks to this update You know that we do not do for some unique objects of the destruction model, but there were so many requests that demags are now available for the original objects - the terminals of Beirut, Damascus, Aleppo, Gaziantep, Paphos, Nicosia, Adana Hilton, Sheraton Adana, Haifa Tower hotels Panorama, Haifa Tower Sail, Damascus Tower, Limassol Olympic Residence, Platinum Tower Beirut, Sama Beirut, Assad Palace, Haifa Cooling Tower, Aleppo Power Plant and La Farge Factory. In addition to the damage, we have optimized night lighting and optimized city blocks, so that all the additions will definitely not degrade your performance. While your plane is being prepared, check out the pictures

  4. Whilst work is continuing on the physical cockpit restoration, work is also progressing in parallel on the digital version as we are replicating the cockpit in 3D so that it can be used in DCS. The project aim is to create a perfect 1 to 1 between the physical and digital product, with everything exactly where it should be!

  7. I'm happy you are interested in my works. Btw, I'm a little bored to build similar style 3d models ... trying different variants like prop liner ? Some months are needed to restart next TTTwJ. Or I'll draw more liveries for DC-9s / ERJs or CAM B747s. Hi. I cannot say Yes or No until I see what will be posted ...

  9. I doubt that, simmers are proud to be simmers, haha. It's funny how much that changed in society in general, btw, imho. I remember my friends rolling eyes at me "you do what?" "don't you rather want to go out and live life?" (as if I didnt lol) - nowadays all our guests want to see the sim setup (it aint even special just a few aficionado HOTAS and pedals, etc), and it is more like "ooh!" and "aaah!" and "wow!"

  10. This is an old request of mine which I keep depositing every few years. Most of the high caliber naval guns in DCS should be dual purpose, capable to engage both surface and air targets. I would like to see DP naval guns engage aircraft and missiles with time fused or VT shells. Now that the land based KS-19 AA-gun is in the game, the code might be there to make the naval guns anti-air capable finally.

  12. ED User Files Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3332398/ All missions take place in various regions of the Caucasus map. A series of quick missions (Most take 3-10 minutes, though 'Advanced' and 'Expert' missions may take longer), designed to help Strike Eagle pilots practice their systems workflow, refine their key binds and HOTAS controls, axis curves, and employment proficiency with a variety of both air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon systems, Air-to-Air refueling, as well as some more advanced scenario based training, that will test your flying abilities while expanding your skills. These are designed to be quick and hassle-free ways to practice selecting the weapon systems, picking your modes, options, ripple patterns, etc. in order to ingrain good muscle memory and habits so it becomes second nature when flying real missions. These are all copied and/or adapted for the F15E from my Viper practice & proficiency mission pack: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328191/ If a mission has a live threat present, it will always be noted in the mission briefing. ******Important note: These are not tutorials. There are no step by step directions telling you how to sel ect and employ the systems required, or perform the assigned task. These are practice missions. A basic understanding of the jet is required. (Though they could be useful if you're following along with Tutorial videos or checklists.) Missions are broken down into 4 categories for easy navigation: - '.Basic': Essential skills for new pilots. Landing, formation flying, spotting, etc. - 'Weapons' - Threat free environments to practice weapons employment. The bedrock that this mission pack is built on. - 'Advanced' - Scenario-based training. Live threats present. Read all mission briefs in full. - 'Expert': - High level scenario-based missions. May contain multiple types of live threats and/or difficult flying conditions. Limited use of F10 and labels. Read mission briefs thoroughly. There is a briefing accompanying each mission letting you know your airspeed, altitude, situation and overall objective. The F10 map, Labels and Active Pause are available in all missions '***' will denote items from most recent update. Includes the following: Weapon systems: - AIM-9M Sidewinder - AIM-120C Amraam - CBU-87 - CBU-97 - GBU 10 & 12 (Single mission for both.) - GBU 24 - Mk 82 & Mk 84 Low drag bombs (single mission for both) - Mk 82 & Mk 84 High drag bombs (single mission for both) - Air to Air Guns Basic Skills: - Cold Start & Takeoff - Cold Start & Takeoff (Night) - Visual landing: clear day - Visual landing: Rain & Wind - Visual landing: Fog & low light - Visual landing: Night - Beginner Formation Flying - Air to Air Refueling (Easy comms, no external tanks) Advanced Skills: - Air to Air refueling (No F10, No labels, TACAN required, No easy comms) - Neutral BFM - Fox 2s - Neutral BFM - Guns only - Beyond Visual Range - AIM-120C - AWACS supported - Beyond Visual Range - AIM-120C - No AWACS Expert: - Fox 2 Unknown Adversary*** - Fox 3 & 1 Unknown Adversary*** ----------Next update planned: TBD----------- To install: Unzip folder and extract the Folder titled 'F15E Proficiency v1.X. Copy and paste to: Users -> *Your username folder* -> Saved Games -> DCS.openbeta (Or DCS if you're running stable version)-> Missions Then go to the 'Missions' tab on the main menu of DCS and at the top should be the folder containing all missions. 13. Chuck's Guide to the Mirage F1 is finally available! Both the Mirage F1CE and F1EE variants are covered. The page count is 570+ pages. *** Link: https://chucksguides.com/aircraft/dcs/mirage-f1/ *** In typical canadian fashion, I feel I must once again apologize for taking so long to complete this project. This aircraft is dear to my heart, and I did not want to cut any corners, which once again expanded the scope of this document way beyond what I had originally planned. C'est la vie. The Mirage F1 is a fantastic Cold War era fighter... the second the afterburner kicks in and you start flying at treetop level at breakneck speeds, you'll understand why this widely exported aircraft was loved by its pilots. The exhilarating sense of speed is something truly special, and you will definitely see why this aircraft is easy to learn but hard to master. I hope this document will be able to bring new players up to speed quickly and garner interest for this beautiful yet deadly french "pointu". Happy reading, and bonne lecture! Chuck

  14. v1.1 Update Posted. 9 new missions. v1.2 is tentatively planned for late August/Early September, 2023 and will most likely include from-scratch missions for weapon systems the Viper doesn't have like Sparrows and Durandels. @YoYo Let me know if you have any technical issues with the Advanced AAR mission.

  15. No, it doesn't. This setting impacts 3D rendered stuff like TGPs and moving maps, not the A2G radar. It has its own built in resolution.

  18. None of the latest modules supported Game Mode Avionics anyway, especially 3rd party modules. Game Mode (Avionics and Flight Models) have been depreciated for a while, Game Mode Flight model is the next to go, as several modules don't use it, and with several modules it doesn't work correctly at all.

  20. Thank you! Indeed. But when I use the air freshener mod, I also fail IC btw, @tacts.zeagle - how on earth are you getting that heavily modded Tiger to fly on servers with IC turned on? Some of your instruments look highly irregular for a F-5E

  21. Has been done Usually followed by balled up bits of paper being fired from the backseat to the front, knowing that it will be the pilot who faces the wrath of ground crew who have to clean out said cockpit afterwards. Apparently. So I’ve heard. Never happened to me (and I didn’t have to by a crate of Frosties to keep them sweet . . . )

  22. I love the banter. It makes Jester seem real. Of course you can always turn off the intercom and let the backseater talk to himself...which may or may not have been done in RL. Not that anyone could prove anyway.

  23. My guess is that more than just a handful of people worked on the F4U back then, and more than full time workdays. Compared to the actual handful of people that do it in their spare time today... ED can't win however they do it - Devs announce it when they start working on it - "Outcry! It's taking too long! Vaporware!" - Devs announce it close to actual release - Other devs didn't know it was being worked on, and get a tiny bit annoyed.. (also, in the meantime; "Outcry! Why isn't anyone working on <insert aircraft> yet!")

  24. Salty has already written a great intro text on the basics of the secondary power system, I'll copy it, and he's also drawn a great illustration as well. "The Jet Fuel Starter is jet engine in it of itself. We used stored potential energy in the form of hydraulic fluid and pressurized nitrogen. This gets the JFS started. The JFS has its own electric and fuel requirements completely separate. Once the JFS is started the lubricating oil turns into control oil. This control oil, when prompted by finger lift on the front of each throttle, will put 350psi of oil into the “iso decoupler” we call them “stub shafts”. These extend out and into the “Pawl Carrier” on the AMAD. The pawl carrier is the catchers mitt. Once engaged it begins to rotate and spin the AMAD which has 2 pumpnulls 1 generator and the Power Take Off (PTO) shaft. The PTO connects the AMAD to the engines gear box. This is where your rotation is coming from. Once over 20% you are cleared to go over the hump with the throttle, but I wait untill atleast 24% N2 RPM. The motor will accelerate with the JFS until it reaches 50%-54% which is when the JFS will disengage/shut down depending on if the other motor is already cranked"

  25. No, 133.000 is simply the default frequency for the radio. Like I said, it does not change the frequency just because you place it on a different airport.
    2 points
  26. Because dynamic radio frequency upon spawn isnt implemented. It's always the same frequency in the radio when you spawn. In real, the radio might remember the last entered frequency. In DCS however, since we always get a factory fresh aircraft, there is always the same frequency in for the first time.

  27. Dear Eagle Dynamics, I am writing to you today to express my concern about the "Radar track files" bug in the F/A-18C. This bug has been present since the DCS 2.8.6.41066 Open Beta update, and it has not been fixed in any of the subsequent updates. The bug affects the "data ageing" setting in the radar menu. This setting controls the number of seconds that a target track is kept in memory after it is lost. With the bug present, the "data ageing" setting has no effect, and target tracks are lost nearly immediately after they are lost. This bug has a significant impact on the F/A-18C's beyond-visual-range (BVR) capabilities. In BVR combat, it is important to be able to keep track of multiple targets, and the "data ageing" setting is essential for doing this. With the bug present, it is very difficult to keep track of multiple targets. This bug was reported to the DCS World forum on June 9th, 2023, by other users as well. The thread was closed by a moderator with the message "reported earlier." The stable version of DCS World has now been updated, and it is unclear whether people who play the stable version will have to deal with this bug until the next update, or if you have decided that it is not a bug after all. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Data Ageing.trk

  32. Hi @HawkEXO, Yes, permanent wing deformation with excessive G is a thing in the module since it was released. Eventually the wing can snap too. But from what we can tell it is indeed repaired on the ground. Stores can also be lost from overG so check if the aircraft still has a symmetrical payload after repair. Otherwise we would appreciate if you could attach a track, in the Caucasus map if possible. Btw, thanks for noticing this little detail!

  33. That's good for you, and I wish you all the best with the current situation. The great advantage of sims is that we now have the opportunity to make some bad things optional. For example, if nature calls when I fly sim, I can hit 'pause'. When I'm in a real cockpit, the rest rooms are located at both ends of the flight. It's maybe silly, but I like amenities like taking advantage of tech in sims. This highly annoying and abnormally opaque effect in the Tiger could be made optional by means of a simple shader fix. That currently is no longer an option. All we are requesting that it be made optional again (for example by providing a slider in the Tiger's, Hip's and Huey's Special tab). It's not really a question of realism (although the excessive reflections in Tiger and Mi-8 are clearly bugs). It's one of quality of life. And isn't it great that we, as players, can control the weather in DCS? That is so much better than being dependent on the outside world. No matter how bad the weather outside, I can fly my plane in DCS in the weather that I want. I like that, unrealistic as it seems - it makes DCS a better game.

  36. Twelve years and counting. That is for a sim that spent most of its existence as a attack helicopter, and close air support sim. I sorry but our patients is a little thin. It's not like we're asking for a full fidelity F-22. Or even a new capability. We are asking for generic NATO, Russian, Chinese, and maybe insurgent infantry. You have machine gun infantry, and RPG, infantry, and Rifle infantry. It would just be nice to see the right uniforms through those really good targeting pods we have. Look I love what you have done with DCS. But as great as some of the modules are we need a believeible and engaging environment to fly and fight it. For the attack helicopters that means troops.

  37. I got my WinWing Orion 2 yesterday and this ist what I experienced. The Engine OFF button is not working properly. It only works if you push the throttle with a force to the last bit of the end. I think the sounds of moving the throttle with the new fingerlift design speaks for its self. The force to overcome the afterburner is differently on the left and right throttle. You need double the force on the left throttle to overcome the AB detend. The fingerlifts are made of plastic and they feel really cheap. In addition they are way to low. You need to change your grip to grab them, what makes them unusable for AB detend. If you increase the friction you are not able to move the throttle freely in one smooth motion. This makes it impossible to make small corrections. So you are forced to use low friction which makes the heavy FA18 throttle fall down and not staying in position.

  38. Tacview-20230731-213101-DCS-Client-PersianConquest_V3.4.zip.acmi I've done my fair share of testing against AI with the AIM-54, this tacview is just one example of shots that would not have connected if the pitch up bug etc would still be here. It's a 45nm shot against a low MiG-21 while I fly 34k around mach 1. Despite all the near notching behaviour of the AI and the small chaff it released my missile still hit with .8 mach speed. Not great, not terrible. I'm suprised it hit but I've done other missions and gotten great results such as having atleast 5 AI targets do a manouver kill for me...

  40. Those are great inputs after they completed the whole JF-17 cockpit hopefully they can sell parts individually. Then the user can build however they like. Behind the UFCP there are a couple of connections that look like they are for the chute/emergency pull brake/master caution/status lights which will be easier than don't require another USB connection to a PC.
