  2. Hello All, Sorry for the sudden departure and lack of news. Unfortunately the person handling the model side of the mod decided to focus on other projects. BUT "Good News Everyone". Thanks to my new hero FuryNZ1781 for the texture fix, hell call it a miracle, and the continued interest, I do believe I have something that can be released that should be a good ai asset and have a limited player functionality. The main issue I recall not getting fixed was player take off from the cats causing minor damage to the ship and getting the elevators working. Also while landing aids appear on screen I'm not sure it's working correctly. The the "bolter bug" came about due to a change in the collision model made trying to sort those issues. I think I have that sorted back to the collision model before the bug. I did see someone suggest a lua fix for that and will research that, but my quick testing and somewhat reliable memory makes me think I fixed that . There are some frame rate issues, but that can depend a lot on what and how many aircraft you put on the deck as I get similar results with mod aircarft on the stock Nimitz. But since the Ford class should only use F/A-18E/F/G and F-35C (I've setup the runway lua for those). That means mod aircraft, and while there are some great ones out there my entry level system (5600X/3060ti) take a big fps hit with 24 of CJS's great F/A-18E/F/G mod on the deck. The VSN F-35 is a little better but your mileage will vary based on your system. Large aircraft like the E-2 and Greyhound should work from the cats and may work from parked depending on what and how many other types you mix the with them on the deck. 4-8 CH-47, CH-53, V-22 and F-35B VTOL also work with the fixed wing spawn points. Landing should be 12-16 aircraft but I still need to make sure the bolter bug is gone. Plus about 100 other things, but I should have something up by the end of the weekend. But Wait there's more. I was able to cobble together a Refit of the stock CVN-72 with the new SAMs (162D/ESSM) from the Ford Mod and added more spawn points to the deck. While similar to what Currenthill did with the Tico and Burke, it's not as slick and may require a little DIY with the game files but I will include the lua file for it with the Ford files. Also I have a Tarawa Class Mod the has the model fitted with the original guns and CWIS and no SAMs. This allows for shore bombardment while landing troops by helicopter And a few updates to some other Cold War Classics as well. Again please keep in mind I'm limited to only lua edits currently but I've got the models working as correctly as I can. Thanks for the interest and patience. I hope to have The Ford files posted by the end of the weekend Note: Full credits to be included with Mod files and thanks to all that have provided tons of help

  4. Thanks! Yeah, I plan to make Chinese helicopters. But there were a lot of of additions and changes in this release, so it'll have to wait until the next one. Until then I would suggest using a Blackhawk with Chinese livery. Since the Z-20 is based on the 70s UH-60, that would be a reasonable analogue for now.

  5. It will, but it won't be very effective until I've released the next update of the US asset pack. With every asset pack update I go through all radars and weapons to tweak their settings for more realism.

  13. This is absolutely wonderful to see on Chinese New Year! You sir is the DaVinci and Michelangelo of DCS! This is simply amazing to behold. To tell you the truth, ever since your mod has landed on DCS, I spent majority of the time playing out battle scenarios between AIs. I am not even flying anymore hahaha! I love to see your work in action in DCS. The details you put into these weapon system is so amazing that I think every third party company should be fighting for your talent! I wish you the best and most auspicious new year full of success! Wish you the best in the year of the dragon!

  16. That used to be called “knowing how to fly a tactical jet”. A lost art, evidently. It really is simple- 1. Don’t pull too hard. 2. Be smooth with control inputs. 3. At high AOA, center the stick and roll with rudder only. Keep trying until you are proficient in all of the above. It’s a desktop sim, you’re sitting on your arse in a chair that is firmly on the ground. There is no reason to be intimidated or overwhelmed. Learn one step at a time. A bunch of real pilots from my era, who tend to be dismissive of Youtube Hero’s, especially those who vomit every detail of their lives in public, call those two guys, “Loser” and the “Donkey”. We have a bunch of great guys from a time where drama and nonsense is met with acerbic, but hilarious commentary. Cold, but effective, it’s a valuable tradition.

  17. I don’t agree with bob requiring few assets. Map is almost fine, yeah, but no ai matches. We would at least need an early spit, hurricane, emil 109, a Stuka and a dornier 17 or a Heinkel 111 and this would be bare minimum. I would love med as well, being Italian I would love to see some Italian aircraft in there, the macchi 200, 202 or the sm-79 would be something amazing!

  19. With a few changes we can have the map for Channel 1940. The good thing about the BoB is that you can create credible scenarios with relatively few flyables and AI. The flyables are in the low hanging fruit category regarding references and surviving examples also. You can use the same, near enough, aircraft and for BoF scenarios and Barbarossa. Id love the Med and North Africa. It’s mostly overlooked but is increasingly viewed a very significant theatre for WW2 aviation, particularly for the Luftwaffe. However MTO requires many more aircraft types, ships, carrier ops, and maps we don’t have. PTO is the same and apparently it’s a nightmare for references beyond a handful of US types.

  20. All modules have their complexity, and a WW2 module should not be denigrated because it is not an F-14 or another modern one. Do you remember the serious problems that ED had with the P-47 and how its development took years? Well, it's the same thing that happened with the M3 or another. If you want to show that you are better than anyone else and that you know how to do things better, show it, but remember, it is your opinion, not that of the community or ED, or that of the 3rd parties. And no, here we are not going to impose censorship, or expel 3rd parties, because you want it, or you are not interested in A or B module.

  21. As Stated, no Docs, Manual was started and paused, as during the post launch revisions, things started changing, so manual was put on hold until the changes were finished, the will be an online manual (or an embedded one, not quite sure at this point which route I want to go.)

  22. Hi CH, I love your work, I was just wondering if you would consider creating some cold war assets by any chance? With the phantom right around the corner there isn't to many ground assets from the era in the base game to use as targets. I have a list of suggestions for both red and blue sides. This is just what I could think of off the top of my head. Blue for: M60/M48/M47 Patton Tanks M1 Abrams(105 version) Challenger 1 AMX-30 Centurion(Upgraded version with the 105) Leopard 1 M114/M102 Towed Howitzers M107 SPG Older versions of the Stinger or Redeye MANPADS Infantry operated ATGMs and anti tank rockets: TOW, Milan, HOT, M72 LAW rocket Cold war era infantry equipped with M16s, FALs, G3s Red for: T72A/T72M tank versions Improved looking T-55? T-64 tank T-62 tank Soviet towed artillery guns: D-30, D-20, M-46 APCs: BTR-60, BTR-50, BTR 40 Strella 2 MANPADS Infantry operated anti tank weapons 9M14 Malyutka AT-3, 9M113 Konkurs AT-5, 9K111 Fagot AT-4, RPG-29 Towed Anti tank guns: BS-3, T-12 Keep up the great work and thanks for taking the time to make this game better

  24. Battle of Britain in DCS is my wet dream, as is a Malta map (not necessarily with Sicily or North Africa, even the small island would be awesome for cool campaigns) but I think a late p-38 model is the most logical next step. Served heavily in both theatres, it’s not the usual single seat single engine fighter, so offers a bit of diversity, and concludes the ww2 American trio.
    3 points
  25. +1; I would love to see some early war stuff (think Battle of Britain) or some mid-war stuff (early P-47D, P-38, 109F & G, 190A5, etc).

  26. Probably covered before, but the Helicopter AI pilots are atrocious. First, I can't lead a flight through mountains without 1 or 2 of them killing themselves in the trees. Constantly. Second, their behaviour, speaking of the AH-64 in particular. Running a campaign in Liberation, as Company Commander I decided to shadow one of my AI flight of 4 doing a CAS mission, I wanted to see how they behaved, as I lose a lot of aircraft. As soon as they encountered some MIG-23's, they immediately started behaving as if they themselves were flying fighter aircraft. They climbed to altitudes of 2,000 feet and began dogfighting, somewhat staying in a bunch but wildly flying around firing Hellfires at the MIG-23's as I circled below and watched this maniacal behavior. Eventually it seems the MIG-23's got bored and moved on, but not before they shot down one of the flight and myself. Again, probably been covered, but the AI seems to need some work for sure. Helicopter AI shouldn't be flying into mountains, and shouldn't be climbing and engaging in dogfighting at 2-3,000 feet with enemy aircraft. When encountered they should be doing evasive maneuvers to exfil the area. Hitting the deck and using the terrain and countermeasures to survive the encounter. In a sim that is pretty much dependent on very logical AI behavior in air operations, this is kind of nutty. If this is something that Liberation is causing, my apologies. I'll probably need to test it in a built scenario, but I don't think Liberation has anything to do with it. I'll keep having a Company of 12 Apaches to command, and send them on missions, but I think I get know why I lose so many aircraft. It's not to ground fire, it's them putting on their Top Gun glasses and going into Maverick mode.

  27. The colors for a USAF aircraft would be Federal Standard 595 Colors FS 37925 Flat Insignia White, 33538 Flat Yellow, 36231 Dark Gull Grey , 37038 Flat Black. the Zinc Chromate primer does not have an FS number as far as I know I found this on another form with Google The "recipe" of zinc chromate was spelled out in AN-TT-P-656. The natural color of zinc chromate primer is yellow (for lack of the exact term for the color). Jennings has already said that the coloration (untinted zinc chromate) was based on its chemical makeup, not because pigmentation was added. What's being discussed is the green color of tinted zinc chromate versus the MM color "zinc chromate green". I've already stated that the color of tinted zinc chromate varied with each manufacturer. Per Boeing B-17F E&R manual (T.O. 01-20EF-02 page 439) and B-17G E&R Manual (T.O. 01-20EG-02, page 422) "Wherever carbon black tinted primer is specified, it shall consist of or be equivalent to, 8 ounces of carbon black tinting paste (Fuller's No. 790 or equivalent) per gallon of zinc chromate primer." Carbon black tinted primer = interior green, Boeing style. Per Northrop P-61 E&R Manual: "All exposed interior surfaces of the gunner's, pilot's and radio operator's compartments shall be finished with Northrop Cockpit Green (12 oz. of black camouflage enamel AAF 14109 to one gallon of zinc chromate primer Spec.No. AN-TT-P-656)". Interior green, Northrop style. P-51D E&R manual (AN 01-60JE-2, pages 403-406): Various structural members: "zinc chromate primer per AN-TT-P-656". "Interior green "spec no. E-7 flat black to be used." Interior green, North American style.

  28. skywalker22, thank u but why so rude? I have 2 kids and I dont have so much free time to fly and learn.... Yes, i am reading the manuals, but i cant read them all and cant remenber all, thats why im asking here, whats the problem? Why i just cant "come here and asking"..... because you say that? Sorry, but i disagree with you. In the end, thats the one of main reasons of exististing of forums - to keep people discussing and helping each other, isnt it? Have a nice day!

  30. I love watching guys like "Slammer" Richardson and "Nasty" Menazzer interviews. Guys who really know how to fly an aircraft like the Tomcat. Down to earth guys who I'd love to buy a beer. I wouldn't buy Mover a free cup of water. When you watch a show like the Tomcast you get a whole different vibe. Guys who loved their aircraft and the people that made her fly. 31. Unfortunately OvGME has trouble when compressing large Mods, so you wont be able to create a Mod Archive. You can still use OvGME to manage the mod, but you need to keep it in un-compressed form (which doesn’t allow for adding a description nor version number), it would look like this: Note the different icon for uncompressed mods, vs those created with Mod Archive.

  32. Yeah....I just got the P-47. I think I better get a German aircraft too though. Last night on the best WWII multiplayer server there is, 4YA Project Overlord, I noticed 40 allied pilots and 17 Axis. If I had a Me 109 or Focke Wulf I would have helped out the other team instead. Haha! That's what I did last sale and I procrastinated and then missed out. You'll have to just bite the bullet and buy everything on your list and get the map too. Don't worry, you'll relace the money. Can alwasy get more.

  37. Checked the files, looks like the F1 makes use of the {FC23864E-3B80-48E3-9C03-4DA8B1D7497B} refrence code, for the base game Magic II, while the 2000 uses the {MMagicII} or {MMagicII_DDM} for the MWS variant changing the rail, which i belive are the razbam custom ones Interestingly enough, the F1 for the Magic 1 uses the internal naming system of {R_550_Magic_I}, and {AIM-9JULI}, suggesting that those missiles were developed in house, while the Magic II was added later, in a rushed manner simply taking the already available base game Magic II I dont think that RAZBAM will simply let Aerges have their own Magic II, they dont have a really good reason to do so, other than being nice, so i m not gonna hold my breath, but it would be good to see 3rd party devs cooperating like that. As for guns, i'd have to guess its just a matter of implementation from each dev again, but considering one aircraft is from the 60's and the other from the late 80's, you could say its the difference in ammunition and simulated well, tho that's mostly just conjecture on my part.

  39. The problem with any mod like the F-35 or F-22 is that the aircraft, their systems, and even the technological capabilities of it are all very top secret. Like, you go to jail for the rest of your life if you share it with anybody, top secret. So, anything this mod may have, anything at all, is pure speculation. Even if well-intentioned speculation, it will never be accurate. It is and will only ever be a "for fun" mod and will never approach the level of accurate modeling, systems integration, or combat capabilities of any other official mod in this game. Their nature is to spark imagination for a while, then burn out quickly. Thus is the life of a mod like this. Best to move on, nothing official will come of this plane for another 40 years, is my guess.

  40. So instead of giving us an option to change CMS programs that will pass IC... You've just taken away the option entirely and told us to just wait until you get around to adding a feature that should've been available for every module on their release? How do you go backwards like this and still take peoples money? They've had years to add the data cartridge features though, don't defend laziness when it costs $130 (AUD) for a module.

  41. Look in the manual where the internal lighting panel is and you'll find it very easily. Perhaps even a lot quicker than waiting on someone to reply.

  42. Forget that the F4U flew piloted in the 2022 VIAF and that in the official videos of 2023 and 2024 and Beyond, it was a pilot on the controls?. "Reasonable time" cannot be met by anyone, remember RAZBAM's F-15E, Polychop OH-58D, Heatblur and other 3rd parties, from delay to delay.

  44. Hey! Thank you for your report. I tracked it internally for the team to look into.

  45. I haven’t played online in a while, but a few years ago at least even texture “mods” (such as terrain textures and new trees which I both use for the Caucasus map) were blocked. I understand and support the need to combat cheaters but hopefully some day a bit more modularity to the Integrity Check will be possible…
