For all the whining about dive toss and Pave Spike, when I was using them they were definitely the way to go if you expected to hit anything in a tactical scenario, such as a pop attack on a target at Red Flag. Dive Toss worked - when maintained. What a surprise! Spike was a bit crude but when you understood the pitfalls (which are not really a big problem if you are paying any attention and do some proper mission planning) was a pretty good way to deliver LGBs. RTFM, plan the mission, fly the plan, RTB and drink Weed in the club afterwards.5 points

Hi Guys I see that Nealius and My good Buddy Andy (Basco1) were wanting to see VPAF Mig-19s so I made this is a representation of a Mig-19 Shenyang J-6 flown by Nguyễn Hon Son of the 925th Fighter Regiment 1972. The Pack contains Aircraft 6032 flown by Nguyễn Hon Son and a 'No Codes' Aircraft with Bort Numbers Enabled. I have also given the Pilot a More Vietnamese Appearance. Andy in particular wanted More VPAF Mig-19 and 21s to Hunt when He finally gets The Phantom F-4. Their lead artist and lead programmer, so not just ordinary "some people" indeed. Which is their prerogative - whatever the real reason, if they don't feel like doing contract work anymore for whichever company was supposed to pay them, then they won't do contracts for that company and that's that. Simple. I do consider it a non-trivial problem, though. One could say 3D and texture artists are dime a dozen (albeit I've heard this particular person is one of the very best amongst 3rd party devs in fligth sim business), so his replacement could be found sooner or later. Coders competent in flight and system modelling, however, well, they don't grow on trees to put it VERY mildly. And even IF ED does have access to source code of Mudhen (which allegedly isn't even the case), taking someone elses code and figuring out how it works is the very last thing any sane software developer wants to do. Espeicially when ED is not the most efficient entity in fixing their own modules, to be honest. To sum it up, even if ED and RAZBAM come to some settlement and fire is put out, if two key staff members decide to quit anyway, maintenance of the current RAZBAM modules is going to be much more difficult, let alone development of any new ones.4 points

This topic is a non-starter - see clause 5 of the EULA. Moreover, there appears to have been an attempt at damage control as reported here.4 points

This is the most interesting post I've seen in a long time. You've formed a rock-solid conclusion based on comments some people have made on different forums over just a couple of days. Meanwhile, you call others "flat-earthers" who are reminding us we don't have any real facts and advising people to wait for more official before jumping to conclusions.4 points

Should this really still be being sold ED given that people away from discord will not be aware of any freeze on its development and the ongoing discussions. I add given it now seems like Razbam have lost some lead F15 developers (they have gone public with their resignations) and as such surely there comes a morality issue of still selling a product when you have resonable suspicion you may not be able to deliver the item as specified? Probably worth a temporary hold on all further e-sales until you can hopefully resolve this issue and provide clear consumer direction.4 points

Most people on Reddit/Discord and a lot of them here on the forum should be given a lollypop so they would stop crying while the actual grown-ups sort out this mess (behind closed doors this time pretty please).3 points

Finally, an accurate depiction of the fallible nature of older systems, requiring an “artist” to interpret and get the best out of. No more ‘point, click and BOOM!’. Nicely done guys.3 points

I'm as mystified in this regard as you are - what ED are trying to do is akin to covering long-term "debt" (maintaining older modules) with short term "loans" (one-off sales of new modules) - something that Business 101 tells you can't ever work long-term. It forces you into ever-increasingly short-term borrowing cycle (bring out new modules) while not being able to service long-term commitments (fixing/finishing released models that have once sold well but now only contribute a small trickle). A vicious circle that only tends to speed up. I want DCS/ED to be successful, and it does give me pause that ED just recently have affirmed that they do not plan to switch to a more sustainable, reliable income stream (yeah, I'm talking about subscriptions). I have purchased all modules and maps in DCS, and I'm still willing to pay a subscription fee if that would secure ED/DCS's long-term future (I currently rent a server to host my missions, so why shouldn't I also pay a reasonable subscription if that allows ED to fix many of the most glaring issues of existing models rather than being forced to bring out new models at the cost of mostly leaving behind existing ones). It seems that the current situation is already creating friction - be it the Razbam dustup (which I hope will be resolved amicably), or prominent contributors like @Dzsekeb (of "Foothold" and "Pretense" fame - the missions that run on many servers and bring joy to many of us) pack up and leave in frustration. There is trouble in paradise, and I hope that ED management will find good solutions for all. Continuing on the current trajectory seems risky to me.3 points

This is a really old bug which has been reported many times before. The problem is that in the DCS F-16C the EPU does not power all the systems connected to the emergency buses. This is why the INS always looses power when you have a flameout in DCS but not in real life, because in DCS it is simply not powered by the EPU. No word on when this will be fixed.3 points

I don‘t understand why so many here are worried to pay more if they buy the map piece by piece. Especially as it is not meant to buy the whole map in 3 parts. It is meant for people who doesn’t have the condition (for whatever reason) to buy the whole map and therefore buy only one or two parts. If I go to the supermarket and I buy 3x 0.5l of, for example, a cola, I also pay more when I buy a 1.5l bottle. It‘s absolutely legitimate for ED to try new experiences. So be fair and give them a chance!3 points

Guys, all this speculation is doing no one any good, let management on both sides work it out and once this is done we will let you know what is happening. Thanks.3 points

Perhaps it's an unwarranted concern - perhaps not - but I would like a guarantee that none of my bought & paid for RazBam modules will be deleted from the game. We're in an age where we buy things but don't own things, we just kind of rent them and we're subject to all manner of decision making beyond our control.3 points

The very worst Q&A I ever saw. Answers to questions we already knew, about technologies implemented for weeks, if not months. Answers to questions about future as always with the ED - "someday, maybe yes, maybe no", and as we all know official timelines are less accurate than kid's storytells. Literally no info, or answers on current matters or new projects. Q&A no one asked for. Q&A no one needed.3 points

Three places to "fiddle" with things: The Beam Eye Tracker settings (they each have a tool tip to let you know what they do.) Second, the Mapping and Accela Filters in Opentrack. And finally the in-game TrackIR settings for each axis (Filter Axis commands only, then look at the settings for Pitch, Yaw and Roll first.) Best way to do this is to get everything running in the game and then adjust each setting and check the results (Alt-Tab to get to Opentrack; once that's open over DCS, you can access Beam Eye from the Windows task bar to get to Beam Eye.) You can set dead zones in Mapping on Opentrack as well as turning distances for your head vs. in-game. With the in-game settings, you want to play with Dead Zones, Saturation and Curves (negative curves seems to work the best for me.) Also, don't forget to configure a Center Keybind in Beam Eye. I have it mapped to a button on my joystick. If the view your seeing starts to get out of control, a quick push of the button will center everything up.2 points

the download link for my UH-60a mod is in the first post in this thread. When installed, it will add a new helicopter, "UH-60a MOD (CLP)". Select this then change loadouts to modify the type appearance (ex: HH-60G) it works in either folder; but the download files are already zipped into a folder structure for the tech folder If installed correctly in Saved Games (NOT Program Files), it still works as of DCS 2.9.3.51704. I suspect @Timex3 you have incorrectly installed some mods in the core installation Program Files. To fix that you should run a "Repair DCS" and check the following options "check all files", and "search for extra files after repair" After you have fixed your DCS install, then you can place the mod in the correct folder. If done correctly you should have a folder which is usually something like: "C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech\CLP_UH-60a_MOD\"2 points

In business circles that would be called 'throwing good money after the bad', a bad decision. The maps and modules that I already own will not suddenly stop working (the advantage of using Steam), so my investment is safe. I'm actively willing to increase my investment in DCS's future, not "willing" just to keep my past. That is safe.2 points

Hmmmm ... I wonder if this partly explains @Wags comment in the Casmo interview that ED were surprised at how many people were buying just the 1st section rather than the whole map2 points

This is the second time I get screwed while trying to get the Strike Eagle. The first time was by M2M that ended up never releasing the bird or refunding (2014) and now RB still working with people like M2M. There might be an EULA, but the industry needs to grow up, get away from these type of events and in no circumstances hold customers hostages when they want to get out of a stinky situation. One way or the other the Strike Eagle will be severely delayed to say the least, this situation has been going on for a long time and it has just been made public on a desperate move by RB while customers were kept in the dark as usual. If we cannot longer trust ED then that is going to be an important issue for many customers, I am not saying that we can’t, I am just saying that ED reaction to this problem will be paramount for its reputation. I personally would like out of this problem since, I am not convinced that what is happening is a good mix for the future of the Strike Eagle one way or the other. Best, Lau2 points

This is what happens when you pay in full for something that isn't finished. I am fully against this business model, but most of you "throw money at the screen" as soon as yet another EA module is announced. You didn't even really need Razbam or VEAO to see this, ED's own modules are probably never going to be fully complete either, yet you purchase hoping for what? Check what state the module is in, if you're happy with it buy it, otherwise wait longer. That's the harsh reality.2 points

Personally I just have one wish (not very greedy) it is to be able to keep the M 2000 c and the F 15 e (even in the current state) and to be able to fly with them. Too bad if they are not finished, but ED negotiates so that we do not lose them. Without mentioning the South Atlantic2 points

I was thinking the same thing. I am here after checking the store to see if it was still listed for sale and surprised to see that it is. I also sunk some cash into a Winwing F-15E throttle. And while the throttle is not useless going forwards, I would not have bought it if I had known that Razbam was going to throw toys out the DCS pram and let down all the customers that had pre-ordered its content.2 points

There are 2 air bases in Mary, Turkmenistan. This post will focus on Mary-2. Mary-2 was the base of the Soviet 156th Fighter Aviation Regiment and 39th independent Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment in 1981. 156th Fighter Aviation Regiment Aircraft type Su-17M3 Fitter-H. 39th independent Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment Aircraft type MiG-25RB Foxbat and Su-24MR Fencer Attached photos for reference. 00. ED map 01-02. Actual location, current state 03-06. Early 80s photo of base, operations This airbase is missing from current plans and would be important to be included in order to re-create the conflict.2 points
