  1. I'm tearing my hair out here trying to figure out what, if anything, can be salvaged from the destruction of DCS 2.9.7.59263. So far I know that AI bombers spawned by the method we've used for years are no longer viable; there's a memory leak somewhere in the core game that saps performance and frame rates out of it over time like cutting a vein; and *somewhere*, one of the WW2 Asset Pack units in combination with another, in a way we've used harmoniously together for years, is directly harming server side performance. This is not a WW2 problem, this is a core game problem. I'd rather retire Project Overlord than turn it into an air spawn, air quake arena because that's the only scenario DCS can reliably support any more.

  2. As title says. I'm pulling roughly 2.5gs and rolling slowly and the radar is unable to STT the bandit if my aircraft is maneuvering. Unable to achieve STT lock.trk The F-16 for comparison (i'm pulling 6gs with the F-16 and i'm able to STT the bandit with no problem) F16 STT lock while maneuvring.trk

  4. It appears that way. Especially now, 6 months later, dcs performs worse than ever, people are basically abandoning dcs ww2 because of performance issues that make mp basically impossible to play. I dont care about new modules anymore. Was lookin forward to the pto stuff, but with the state of dcs and the handling of issues and appearance of how things and handled, it dont feel the excitement anymore. im not sure if ed is actually realizing whats going on.

  6. It´s strange because, the more powerfull hardware i have, less fps i have... I think ED has to take a time to stop developing so many planes, terrains and Early Access, and add more resources to OPTIMICE the sim.

  7. As the title says, both MPRF/HPRF takes too long to generate a trackfile / lock a target, compared to previous updates. Since nothing about the radar was said in the changelogs, i assume this is a bug. MPRF takes a very long time to lock 1.trkHPRF taking too long to lock a target.trk F-15E radar for comparison F15E trackfile.trk Also, when tracking a target, the target is jumping in the B-scope and in the target box, as if it had a very low refresh rate. HPRF-MPRF target jumping.trk F-16C radar for comparison F16 trackfile not jumping.trk I can't say this for sure, but this low refresh rate might be causing problems tracking targets in a multiplayer environment, there are instances that targets flying in a straight line, under optimal tracking conditions, fade from the radar. I don't have a trackfile right now, but will upload as soon as this problem happens to me.

  8. Unfortunately, I also have to say that the 3D Model is as poorly Modelled as a free MOD from the Community. I am convinced of the quality of the CH-47F. Great work! And that's why the Kiowa is dead for me. In VR, the Kiowa is unbearable for me. That's my opinion. It's a real shame. I don't fly the Kiowa anymore.

  9. I'm thinking I'm going to take a break from DCS. I've spent thousands of dollars with ED on modules, and I'm beyond frustrated. Any mission with a decent number of units brings my pretty powerful system to a crawl (Ryzen 9 7950X, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5). I'll keep checking the forums and hopefully be back to playing when the performance improves.

  16. Yep its getting old, its a shame we have all these jets and helos but no way to fly them anymore. To much focus on $ in my opinion. I could live with a game breaking patch if it happened once a year but it seems like its everyone now. I feel like a stranded starliner astronought. ED got us into orbit and here we sit.

  17. Since some updates a triggered radio transmission will start to produce a static noise on the radio frequency selected, as if the sender doesn't stop transmitting. It is not related to squelch settings. In the AH-64D the noise can't be stopped by pulling the knob (radio to off). Master Volume affects the static noise, but not individual radio volumes. Only if you switch the frequency the static noise stops (so I suspect it is related to the specific frequency used in the trigger).

  19. Yesterday I have updated my TrackIR 5 drivers to v5.5.1 and then DCS World was no more able to detect the device. It works fine with its own control software but the game does not recognize it ("rescan input devices" does not solve). Rolling back to v5.5.0 actually to fixes the problem and TrackIR 5 device is detected again by DCS 2.9.7.59263. Anyone else seen the same problem?

  20. Hello there, as the title says, its been like this for a while. It doesn't happen everytime, so in the tracks i kept locking and unlocking the target several times to demonstrate the issue. In several instances, the radar gets stuck in a "ghost" contact, failing to achieve a lock in the correct target, despite being in perfect conditions to do so. Also, there are some instances that the radar takes a very long time to lock, even against cooperative targets (non maneuvering, high closure rate, high altitude, look up situation).   21. This is an update for the La Fayette by damienntrix, You will need his mod installed. You can find it here https://forum.dcs.world/topic/263509-pack-8-helicos-ia-armee-francaise-diverses-structures-17-vehicules/ You will also need Admiral189's Normandie Frigate Mod installed. The update adds the correct SAM systems. The model is fitted out to reflect the ship's Surcouf and Guépratte current fit so I have added these 2 ships along with the original. New ships are named FS-FXXXX in ME list. La Fayette should be listed as before This is still a WIP progress but all weapons should be working. Know issues. The model has a few issues I can't fix. There is a minor problem with the gun animation and you may see a random flicker of the gun barrel. Small guns are currently coded as CIWS and need to be changed to 20/30mm auto cannons. This makes the ship a bit over powered for AA. Sensors are as originally coded. I will try and update. No liveries yet. I did try and remove the hull numbers but the stern numbers kept showing up Install Back up your original MOD install. Unzip update then copy contents to the mod folder and let them overwrite.   23. Вы почему-то читаете очень избирательно. Ещё разработчик сказал, что не закрывает возможность настроить свой (удобный для пользователя) способ запуска через ярлык (и это займёт совсем немного времени). А ещё разработчик сказал, что ED сделали именно так, как посчитали нужным. Если мнение ED по способу запуска игры-симулятора изменится - будут изменения и у Вас. И в конце концов - у разработчика могут быть свои резоны и свои планы, не так ли? Спасибо за мнения.

  24. Вечер добрый. Оставлю запись эфира по новому вертолёту и карте здесь, может кому будет полезно. (YouTube и VK Play Live) Понравился визуал, как кабины, так и внешки, внимание к деталям (даже контейнеры с ППИшками пустеют при отстреле)...а так же звуки (особенно силовой установки да лопастей), детали, отражения, текстурирование. Но всё же...модуль пока сыроват. Из того, что хочется и то что раздражает: - Вертолёт постоянно гуляет по тангажу, может и реально так..но сейчас летать не всегда комфортно. - Очень напрягает принудительное триммрование педалей. Надеюсь в ближайшем будущем сделают это опционально, "по галочке" в настройках модуля, как у всех. - В кабине, при помощи трекира можно "вылететь камерой" через стекло вперёд или вбок. Надеюсь чуточку, но ограничат углы. (без лишения возможности зумить МФД, т.к. там всё очень мелко). - Бортовые стрелки. Очень хочется, чтобы завезли "автопилот" на них, как у Ирокеза, Ми-8 и прочее. (огонь\огонь в ответ\не стрелять). А так же заметил, что настроив команду "выбрать левого стрелка" - открывается позиция правого. Так же, при первом переключении на любого стрелка - управление вертолётом сохраняется. При последующих - управление залипает. Хочется, чтобы была возможность как у Ми-24 и Апачи, при занятии передней кабины (в данном случае места стрелков) управление не перехватывалось, либо чтобы была "галочка" в настройках. - Надеюсь будут на МФД другие варианты карт, по типу спутника, как у Апачи. - Производительность Афганистана (Кандагар) как и видимо самого Чинука - даже не буду комментировать. Это просто позорище...падения до 13-15 кадров. Надеюсь, что в ближайшем будущем над этими делами поработают.   26. Indeed. Plus, in above example, if the pilot is tuned correctly on COM2, it won't work either. Some modules have more than two radios, and for different frequency ranges. That's IMHO not acceptable. I don't cherish introducing module-specific dependencies into something that should support all. In other words, not providing an API to mission designers for accessing the radios reeks of API amateur hour on the side of ED to me. To make matters worse, there is no scripting API equivalent to "X_Cockpit_Param" in DCS. There is a Unit.getDrawArgumentCalue() that I would rather slowly suffocate than waste months to figure out for each radio dial for each radio for each different module, and then repeat that process every time a module changes or is added. And still won't cover any FC module (although we could simply say that any FC module automatically tunes correctly, establishing today's status quo, no problem here). No, we need ED to do some essential API work here, and then we can have an improvement across the board.

For my two pence i went the DCS route because of the opportunity to purchase the warbirds, I didn't know then it was seen as being of limited financial reward to ED and that development time would be scaled to accordingly. We didn't pay reduced prices because it would lack the development input of the other modules. If you purchase any module / map or Tech asset surely you expect that to be treated the same as any other module surely. I have purchased the Spitfire, P51, P47, Mosquito, WW2 asset pack and both WW2 maps. That's a sizable investment and i don't regret it i have great fun. But i do feel let down when you see the patches release month by month with no major Updates, Improvement or new features. Certainly with the asset pack, The Mosquito and WW2 asset pack are still early access. So to me that means there a development plan to make the full release. What is that development plan? When will it be fulfilled. I don't understand how it can just be left with no news, no published plan! If there is a (small) team of developers maybe they can give news updates on what they are working on! If this is the new PTO then so be it but how do we trust that will be delivered / supported better then what we have now?

  31. My virtual squadron is thinking now of stopping liberation/retribution operations. With this kind of sim regression it is imposible to perform any mission with lot of units. I'm curious how people are invested more money in computer builds and now the sim run worst, with any kind of optimisation. I would suggest for future updates, to come back three patches ago and introduce all modules changes.

  32. I might have a "memory leak", but I don't recall an official statement from ED regarding the WWII fighters in the last 1 or 2 years. No news, in this case, is not good news. ED is not treating us like one should treat customers and that worries me. I own all warbirds so far, but I'm not going to be seduced to buy the F6F Hellcat if it's ever released, and I will hold back on any other new module announced with big trara as long as ED continues to ignore us.

  33. Установка галки запуска DCS напрямую делается ровно 1 (один) раз и потом работает всегда. Это в самом деле настолько критично? Мы сделали так, как считаем нужным и при этом дали возможность пользователям выбрать желаемый способ запуска. Понятно, что абсолютно всем угодить нельзя. Если Вас не устраивает предлагаемый ED способ запуска, Вы можете настроить свой ярлык на рабочем столе.

  34. Here are some tracks with some scenarios that I came across while making the table. In the SA-2 track, only the Mk 22 seeker (on the #1 pylon) provides tone and track on the Fan Song (SA-2 track radar) while the other 3 (Mk 23, Mk 24 Mod 5, Mk 24 Mod 34 respectively) track without giving tone at all. F-4E_Shrike_SA-2_Tone.trk In the SA-19 track, this track has a similar issue to the SA-2 track where the Mk 23 seeker provides tone on the SA-19 and tracks but the Mk 24 Mod 5 doesn't provide tone and still tracks. This track also has the added issue where the Mk 24 Mod 34, which has a wider RF limit bracket that encompasses a wider bracket than the Mk 24 Mod 5 but narrower than the Mk 23, doesn't track the SA-19 at all even though it should since it should cover the same RF limit bracket as the Mk 23 and Mk 24 Mod 5. F-4E_Shrike_SA-19_ToneANDTracking.trk Another example of that is the Mk 36 being able to track the SA-10's tracking radar (Flap Lid-A) even though both Mk 49 seekers have an RF bracket that encompass the Mk 36's smaller RF bracket. F-4E_Shrike_SA-10_Tracking.trk Another problem encountered is that some radars seem to be trackable with all seekers for some reason. This can be seen with the SA-2's Amazonka rangefinder which can be tracked with any Shrike seeker model. F-4E_Shrike_SA-2RF_Tracking.trk Another problem encountered was the Shrike providing tone even though it didn't track the target. This can be seen with the Mk 23, Mk 24 Mod 5, and Mk 24 Mod 34 which all provide tone but all fail to track the Tarawa. F-4E_Shrike_Tarawa_No_Track.trk

  40. This is a follow up report. As said in the post, this bug fix introduces a new bug, and it's not investigated yet. There's a tendency for the aircraft to overshoot the pitch attitude upon releasing the stick. That is, after a snap pull on the stick (impulse input), and as soon as the stick returns to neutral position, the pitch motion would briefly stop for a moment, and then aircraft will keep pitching up for a few degrees before the pitch motion completely stops. Please note that there's no such tendency when pitching down. The same happens with rolling the aircraft (also shown in the track), that as soon as the roll stops, the aircraft tends to pitch up for a few degrees. This is abnormal as the FLCS is not able to dampen the pitch motion very well and suppress such uncommanded pitch-up. Thanks for your attention to the handling of the aircraft. А вот когда уже напряг или собеседник не приятен - тут идёт переход на ВЫ:) Плюс это дистанцирование. Так что радуйтесь, что люди с вами на ТЫ

  43. In fairness, the OPs statement and need to publicly announce that he won't be buying the module comes across as a bit arrogant. He could find literally dozens of reviews of the flight model on youtube, reddit, the ED forums, etc, but these reviews, a couple of which are from actual Kiowa aircrew, aren't up to his standard?

  45. Theres a lot of models, vehicles and aircraft, that are shown in DCS promotional pictures and videos that have 3D models far more detailed that what they are in the game. It´s clear they have some kind of asset pack for better 3D models in the works. Thats fine by me, what I don´t like at all, is that they never say that those models used to advertise the sim, are not really in it
