  1. Hello everyone, Red Star Simulations is excited to share our progress on a range of liveries for the MiG-17F. Below is a list of possible liveries currently planned (subject to change), and we’d love to hear your input. Which paint schemes would you most like to see included? Are there particular historical operators, squadrons, or iconic designs that you feel are essential? We’ve also included a preview of several work-in-progress liveries that are already in development. Your feedback will help us decide what to prioritize moving forward. – Aqil Huseynov – The Red Star Simulations Team Soviet BM (two red lines on fuselage) Soviet Camo Chinese PLAAF (Standard) BM Chinese Aerobatics Team East German BM - Early (old roundel) East German BM (new roundel) East German Camo - Fighter Bomber Livery (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) Polish (Standard) BM Polish Camo - Fighter Bomber (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) Czech MiG-17 (Standard) BM Czech MiG-17 "Red" Bulgarian (Standard) BM Bulgarian Camo Albanian (Standard) BM Vietnam BM 2047 Vietnam BM 2019 Vietnam Camo/BM 2011 Vietnam Camo 2072 Vietnam Camo 3020 "Col Tomb" Indonesian (Standard) BM Indonesian Aerobatic Team Black Indonesian Aerobatic Team Red Cambodian "Red Lightning Bolt" BM Egyptian (Royal Standard) BM Egyptian Nile Valley Camo Algeria (Standard) BM Algeria 257D Camo/Sand Iraq (Standard) BM Syrian Camo Syrian BM Yemeni Republic (Standard) BM Yemeni Republic Camo (based on Syrian Camo) United Arab Republic (Standard) BM Israeli Camo (based on Syrian Camo) Angola Camo Nigeria (Standard) BM Nigeria Green Cuban (Standard AS) BM (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) Cuban (AS) Camo (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) US "Have Drill" Camo (based on Syrian camo) Randy Ball 1613 or 1611 Will Ward "Psycho Ward" (BM = Bare Metal)

  5. A simple mod to add wing mounted guns (6 x .50 Cal) to the TF-51D. Includes a variety of ammunition options based on the P-51D by ED. Installation into your main DCS directory (note, this mod breaks Integrity Check), typically: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Bind the additional Weapons Trigger command and enjoy. Download link: DCS TF-51D Guns Mod Intention is to help those who may be considering a warbirds module make a more complete assessment before committing and to have some additional fun with the free TF-51 module, no plans to add additional weapons or gunsights, etc. at this time.

  6. +1 ... even if we don't have (yet) a Korea map, I'd like a Korean livery too. My preference is for regular service liveries of countries that we can fit on available maps (so, no african countries for example, apart from Egypt), also I'm not a fan of aerobatic teams or anniversary liveries, from your list at the 1st post I would prioritize these: Soviet BM (two red lines on fuselage) Soviet Camo Chinese PLAAF (Standard) BM East German BM - Early (old roundel) East German BM (new roundel) East German Camo - Fighter Bomber Livery (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) Polish (Standard) BM Polish Camo - Fighter Bomber (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) Czech MiG-17 (Standard) BM Czech MiG-17 "Red" Vietnam BM 2047 Vietnam BM 2019 Vietnam Camo 2072 Indonesian (Standard) BM Egyptian (Royal Standard) BM Egyptian Nile Valley Camo Iraq (Standard) BM Syrian Camo Syrian BM United Arab Republic (Standard) BM Cuban (Standard AS) BM (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) Cuban (AS) Camo (fictional on MiG-17F Lim5) US "Have Drill" Camo (based on Syrian camo) Thanks a lot for querying the Users .. I will purchase this bird as soon as it's available, but please don't doo as the MB339 and provide a small "early access" discount Eduardo

  7. Nobody. How could we know how you feel? Nobody mentioned you at all. I did make a general point on the back of your comment: endless entitlement is not the way forward for the community or developers. If you take that personally, maybe ask questions of yourself rather than us.

  9. Hi guys, as you know we’re still working on our upcoming Alphajet mod, and we don’t necessarily have the time to work on the Bronco. One of the recurring issues with it was the jittering wheels. A guy named Moran found a way to fix the problem while waiting for a future patch. I’m sharing here a screenshot of what needs to be done. Thanks to him ! Enjoy it

  11. Wow, beautiful. I found the original text here: https://www.vfp62.com/SR-71.html And the relevant paragraph by Brian Schul: "One moonless night, while flying a routine training mission over the Pacific, I wondered what the sky would look like from 84,000 feet if the cockpit lighting were dark. While heading home on a straight course, I slowly turned down all of the lighting, reducing the glare and revealing the night sky. Within seconds, I turned the lights back up, fearful that the jet would know and somehow punish me. But my desire to see the sky overruled my caution, I dimmed the lighting again. To my amazement, I saw a bright light outside my window. As my eyes adjusted to the view, I realized that the brilliance was the broad expanse of the Milky Way, now a gleaming stripe across the sky. Where dark spaces in the sky had usually existed, there were now dense clusters of sparkling stars Shooting stars flashed across the canvas every few seconds. It was like a fireworks display with no sound. I knew I had to get my eyes back on the instruments, and reluctantly I brought my attention back inside. To my surprise, with the cockpit lighting still off, I could see every gauge, lit by starlight. In the plane's mirrors, I could see the eerie shine of my gold spacesuit incandescently illuminated in a celestial glow. I stole one last glance out the window. Despite our speed, we seemed still before the heavens, humbled in the radiance of a much greater power. For those few moments, I felt a part of something far more significant than anything we were doing in the plane. The sharp sound of Walt's voice on the radio brought me back to the tasks at hand as I prepared for our descent." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Shul

  12. I pretty much agree with what Eduardo wrote. Maybe minus the Indonesian livery. Soviet and East German liveries are an absolute must for me (especially the East German fighter-bomber camo livery), plus liveries for those nations that we have the correct maps for (Syria, Sinai, Nevada). And since everybody is craving for a Vietnam scenario and many recreate this on the Marianas map, North Vietnam liveries are very welcome too I guess.

  15. Yeah, I'd be still updating the mod if life hadn't kept me away from my computer for extended periods of time. It is what it is. I am happy that other people are stepping up and getting things done. That is up to you, it is your fork after all. My take on this is that the A15 is completely irrelevant as a ground based missile (which is why it doesn't exist and was never considered), whereas the Block 2 is an interesting what-if unit. I wouldn't lose sleep over the removal of the A15, but that's your decision to make. I'll see what I have @home. Yes. The ME (Module d'Engagement) is more capable than the ECS ever was; it basically combines the features of the ICC and ECS in a single vehicle. The MC is a command post for planification and multi-system coordination, it is not required to link the SAMP/T to L11/16/JREAP/ATDL-1 as the ME already has the required HW and SW.

  16. Where did I say "its a less important thing"? The programmers can't do two things at once. Especially since the engine modeling and WEP are very laborious. The list is simply a "note" that we are aware of problems. Not the status of when the problem will be fixed, sorry.

  18. Thank you for putting in the work that I wasn't able to. A few points: I don't know who added the Aster 15 to my SAMP/T, but there's no such thing as a land-based Aster 15. The SAMP/T is designed to use the Aster 30 Block 1 only. The SAMP/T NG (the upgraded system with the GF300) can use both the Aster 30 Block 1 and Block 1NT. Aster 15 is a purely naval missile. The Aster Block 2 project has been cancelled years ago, and it never flew. Its role is to be fulfilled by the Aquila interceptor somewhere in the 2030s What is the issue with the 9S32 ? In any case, I can look if I still have the original model. Otherwise, perhaps ERO, aka @Strigoi_dk, still has it somewhere. IRL, the purpose of the MC is *not* to add a TLD. It is not an equivalent to the ICC and the ME already has all the bells and whistles TLD-wise, from L16 to JREAP including legacy TDLs like ATDL-1 or L11. Cheers.

  19. SYRIAN INCIDENT - DYNAMIC CAMPAIGN SQUADS vs. SQUADS From the creators of SATAC and pioneers of the first-ever squad dynamic campaign as Georgian Incident and public server with integrated stats dating back to 2011, 51st MDT proudly presents Syrian Incident, a groundbreaking event designed to revive large-scale squads vs squads multiplayer dynamic combat in DCS. Syrian Incident is not another public mission. It’s a fully dynamic, squads-versus-squads battlefield where your actions shape the outcome of the war. This campaign demands precision planning, flawless coordination between the squads, and exceptional execution. Each participating squad will follow carefully planed flight plans, crafted by their faction’s generals and commanders, as both sides fight for dominance in a constantly evolving battlespace. The time has come to signup and take part in the testing phase, where we evaluate not only the mission itself but also the readiness of the squads who will fly the campaign. This is your opportunity to prove your squad's capability in A2A, A2G, MR or Logistics operations while paving the way for what will be the most immersive campaign DCS pilots have experienced. The Syrian Incident is entering its final phase of development, ready to showcase what DCS was truly meant to be! 1. Structure: The Syrian Incident is a squad vs squad multiplayer campaign based on the Fowl-Dynamic Campaign System, featuring strategic command options for participating coalitions. It offers an immersive and realistic combat experience set within a complex geopolitical military scenario. 1.1. The Syrian Incident consists of multiple events (referred to as “days”) in which squads participate. Assuming the role of one side of the conflict throughout the campaign, expected to run for several months. Each day is conducted once a week, with missions lasting approximately six hours. 1.2. Each coalition includes 8+ DCS squadrons specializing in both air-to-air and air-to-ground operations. 1.3. The Syrian Incident will feature major scripted events, introduced when tactically appropriate to enhance immersion. The timing of these events will be determined collaboratively by both campaign moderators and commanders, primarily for balancing purposes. 1.4. The Syrian Incident is subject to future updates and expansions under the Fowl-Dynamic Campaign System. 2. Basic Rules: Each coalition must appoint two individuals to serve as Commanders (Generals). These appointments may be revised later in the campaign if the original Commanders (Generals) are unable to fulfill their duties. 2.1. The position should preferably be assigned to a high-ranking and responsible squad member, capable of strategic planning, coordinating ground and air assets, and managing the distribution of reinforcement resources. 2.2. Each week, the Generals make critical tactical decisions by planning and executing operations that can significantly alter the operational landscape in the following Syrian Incident day. Sound strategic judgment is essential to achieving combat success. 2.3. Each coalition may field a maximum of 25 participating pilots per mission day. Pilots are limited to one life per mission. A disconnect occurring after takeoff will be considered a loss of the aircraft. Reserve pilots may be used to replace those who have been eliminated. 2.4. Mission conditions, including weather effects, will change randomly each day of operations. Time will advance in six-hour increments per mission day. 20. Hi all! I have been playing DCS for 5 years on a 2D-monitor. Today I bought the Quest 3S, jumped into DCS and was completely blown away! DCS is a completely DIFFERENT game in VR, not only that you are suddenly sitting inside the cockpit, all the proportions is completely different! I have never liked or enjoyed the A-10C, but now I am IN LOVE with the A-10! This bird is HUGE in VR and the cockpit is sooo beautiful! I also jumped into the P-47 and ohh man, let me tell you, if you enjoy warbirds, you are teleported back 50 years inside the real P-47 and it looks NOTHING like on a 2D monitor! The thing is I am running a pretty crappy home computer, RTX 3080, 32 GB Ram, I5 and the most simple VR-headset a Quest 3S for 300 dollars, I am getting a solid 40-60 FPS in singleplayer even on Normandy map. This is the best spent 300 dollars in my entire life, I am NEVER going to play DCS without a VR-headset again, just doing some simple flying is 10x more fun then before

  21. Sometime ago Ugra said they will consider doing a Cold War vehicle pack after phase 3, this is my list of some of the vehicles that should be there, please feel free to correct me or to add your own ideas. Thanks. NATO: Tanks: M-26: Early cold war, mostly US but also French and Belgian service. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M26_Pershing M-41 Walker Bulldog: Used by everyone on the map. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M41_Walker_Bulldog#Operators M-47: Almost every nation used this one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M47_Patton M-48: Another one that saw great use, US, Norway, Germany, Spain... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M48_Patton AMX-13: A french strange concept, saw heavy export use, in Europe, France, Belgium and the Netherlands: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMX-13 AMX-30: French MBT, used by Spain as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMX-30 Warsaw Pact: Tanks: T-62, in Europe only the USSR used it, but in so huge numbers it needs to be here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-62 T-64, very advanced, very expensive. USSR only again: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-64 T-72: we would need either a soviet variant or even better the export M one, as this one was used by everyone and his aunt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-72 Anyone know how can I make the images visible please?

  22. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add reasonably realistic night sky and milky way. I am new to DCS and find it quite awesome and beautiful in VR. However, I was flying a night mission at 34,000 AGL in the incredible raven one fury campaign and the DCS night sky was completely immersion breaking! You got the clouds, the sea, and the moon, all perfect and intoxicating in VR, and then the night sky is totally lame. I guess if you are located in Moscow or another big city, with extreme light pollution, it is maybe possible that you have no idea what I am talking about, maybe you have never actually seen more than 50 faint stars above your head at once, but there are actually stars up there and they should look glorious from high altitude. look it up. I am aware people are complaining about this for a long time, and I find it quite puzzling you have not fixed it yet. PLEASE HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IN 2025 THE AWESOME DCS WORLD HAS SUCH LAME INEXCUSABLE NIGHT SKY ?!?

  23. Well, in the next version 1.4.2, ME will act as the main command post. I disabled MC because I experimentally discovered that creating a huge brigade of several ME and 30+ PU increases the group's reaction time to 1-2 minutes (!!!). And this applies to any complexes in the game. I noticed that the more intermediaries there are between the detection radar and the TEL, the greater the implicit delay (not `reactionTime`). I assume this is caused by the iterative determination of virtual trackers by radars with the ability to detect and intercept multiple targets simultaneously. Simply put, the more `ws` in the SAM config, the more delay there is. I plan to refactor this part of the mod configuration in version 1.4.2.

  24. Absolutely. There’s a note about that in the mission description. In short, you’ll need to pull the script out of the .miz and modify the fuel tank capacity, save, reload into the .miz. The script is well-documented and you’ll see exactly what to do once you open it.

  25. ok, I use a pretty old VPC rudder pedals set and with that the OV-10 taxis pretty easily once a bit of practice, I can even turn it on itself inside a hangar, like this: perhaps you could purchase a used set online ( as they can be pretty expensive if purchased brand new) ? Eduardo

  26. I do too, but that's one issue amongst many and the patching is not quick with several layers of priority as mentioned in the forum. Don't take my comments as dismissive. I always look for user side work around especially for something customizable as bindings, as the patches and fixes take long to come. Happy flying.

  31. Since this is the F-14B the player can plan both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions for his own flight. Of course, the Tomcat is at its best in air superiority missions and as an escort for the Hornets. For AI aircraft the F-14 mission options include fleet defense, escort missions, as well as CAP and sweep tasks in different areas.

  36. Hi, LetMePickThat. I'm glad to see that the creators of this mod are still interested in its future 1, 2. Do you want me to remove the Aster-15 and Aster-30 Block 2 launchers from the mod? 2) The new model was rotated 90 degrees, causing the radar to look sideways at the target. I have already fixed the problem with 9S32 by replacing the model with an older one by ERO. Still, it would be nice to get the source models for 3DS Max. For example, the SA-22 Pantsir-SM has a problem with the mounting points of the guns, which caused them to rise above the sight and resulted in uncontrollable recoil. I “fixed” it by manually specifying the offset of the sight, guns, and launchers along the XYZ axes relative to the center of the turret. 3) Are you talking about the SAMP/T command and control point (C2)?

  38. It doesn't have to be large. FSX had a whole World, quite well-made at that, taking up about 24GB, while P3Dv6 had 85GB with even better quality. The World is generated using autogen, combining vegetation and buildings. It doesn't even have to take up as much space as a single map for DCS with current quality.

  39. @ TATOR: Many thanks for posting the fix Moran found! It worked for me. No more jittering wheels since I commented line 203. The OV-10A is a great aircraft to fly. Never thought flying a turboprop would be so much fun. Would be really great if you guys could spend some time on this mod after the upcoming Alphajet. We've got lots of jets in DCS but only few flyable turboprops... Actually the OV-10A is the only one I know.

  41. Isnt it about time to get some more axis planes in the virtual skies? I mean when was the last axis piston engine plane released? In the meantime we get one allied plane after another without anything to put up against them.... Isit reall that much effort to for example make some variants of the A8 available? Or a few more 109 variants? Allied: P51 P47 Spitfire Mosquito F4U I-16 Soon: Bearcat (or was it the hellcat) LA 5 - what is this supposed to be flown against? Just to fly around in it i can get one in MSFS, cant i? Axis: BF 109 K4 FW 190 A8 FW 190 D9 Soon: Zero (probably will be 2 years from now) Tiny little imbalance IMHO. Dont get me wrong. I love each and every plane in DCS. Its a great sim. But there is simply far too little that can be put up against each other while maintaining ANY KIND of historical accuracy.... Thats just not understandable for me. Winger

  43. Hi. Currently - Combined Arms driveable vehicles have a "Visible before activation" option that allows the vehicle to be visible before being controlled. Adding this option for aircraft that "takeoff from ground" or "takeoff from ramp" would allow mission editors to populate flight lines that otherwise look rather empty when populated with mostly "client" aircraft, unless populated with static or uncontrollable aircraft. If these assets are then destructible, then this would also add a PvE or PvP element where a flight line's aircraft could be vulnerable.
