New tasks added for helicopters: ‘External Cargo Load' and 'External Cargo Unload'. Old task 'Cargo Transportation (External) is removed, and the possibility to add in the mission editor has been hidden for new missions while compatibility with old missions has been retained. ‘External Cargo Load' makes HAI hook up cargo as it was in old task, but after hooking, HAI will continue its route set by the missionmaker so that it is the missionmaker’s responsibility to now limit altitudes and airspeed for such cargo delivery. ‘External Cargo Unload' is an advanced waypoint action with trigger or script. It will make HAI fly towards the cargo drop zone and unhook cargo there (if HAI have any) after calling the task. Some tuning was added to HAI control when it carries external cargo that includes yaw velocity and max AoB limitations when cargo weight is more than 10% of helicopter gross weight. It will reduce arrival and landing speed (40m/s, 77knots, 144 km/h max). (AI flies way too fast with sling load - Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms) - ED Forums) Dedicated Server Dedicated Server. Server CTD when client disconnects while in a ground vehicle - fixed (Server Crashes When Leaving Server While Controlling a CA Vehicle as Game Master - Game Crash - ED Forums) Dedicated server webGUI restart button causing server to start with the first mission in the list -fixed (it should launch the last mission played instead) (WebGUI Restart Server Bug - Multiplayer Bugs - ED Forums) Weapons Additional post penetration checks added for GBU-31.(https://forum.dcs.world/topic/378982-jdam-settings/) Note: for the case in forum report 180s is not a suitable setting for this kind of target. It should be set to a shorter one. R-27 missiles. Improved network sync of trajectory. Improved network sync of explosions for Air-To-Air and SAM missiles. BetAB-500 and BetAB-500ShP. Fixed excessive splash damage being dealt when these bombs exploded on runways or concrete objects/surfaces. User Interface Adjusted colouring and grouping design for the debriefing screen. That's your opinion others don't feel that way. Plus it would be nice to have something that was mentioned when the update to the A-10C was announced released 5 years after the updated module was released. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/2020-10-02/ They already changed and don't plan to include things originally announced such as updating the TAD would be a shame if the pilot body ended up not happening as well.7 points

Work continues on Afghanistan and Iraq, as soon as we can share more news we will. thank you7 points

Well, speak for yourself. The 3D pilot is very useful in VR (and in 2D too), as example, when i need to check my checklists/charts i just look to my leg in the 3D pilot, also helps a lot in immersion. Flying in VR without a body in cockpit it´s not the same in terms of immersion.6 points

Ideally that would be the case yes. But as I’m sure you’re aware, DCS massively overexposes the view as soon as you enter the cockpit, and because of the lighting changes in version 2.7 the gamma required for a consistent experience now depends on a module by module basis, based on their age and the availability of a working visor. In FC3 and the A-10, anything over 1.6 blinds me. In the F-16/18 I can get away with 1.7 or 1.8. In the F-4 I use 2.1, and in F-15E, OH-58, Mirage 2000 and F1, and now in the MiG-29 as an ED-first I can use 2.2 - because visors correct the overexposure and makes colour representation consistent between external view and cockpit view. This is all in daylight conditions, mind you. DCS’s night lighting is pretty bad so at night and depending on the circumstances I go up to gamma 3.5 for a believable experience.6 points

Not forgetting Take-off assistance, Auto rudder, Rudder pedal trim, Game level G force effects, No wake turbulence, Unrestricted GPS, Easy comms, Invulnerble, Unlimited ammunition and fuel, just to name a few. Neither of these options have ever affected those who what to simulate realism! But a simple request for a legacy SPO-15 as a mission editor option is a step to far? Despite having exactly what is being asked for in the game since its inception.5 points

Would much rather have a properly working visor so we don't have to faff about with gamma any more5 points

I'm not sure where I was being mysterious. But the team are doing final checks on our content delivery network and patch notes are being refined. When we are ready to post them we will and the patch will then follow. thank you5 points

Hi folks - I was fortunate enough to spend an afternoon with the amazing Heater. Taking all my questions from flying the Heatblur F-14 Tomcat around the boat Heater kindly recorded an interview of all the nitty gritty details of flying the Tomcat. Hope you all enjoy! P.S I showed him lots of DCS footage and I think he is keen to get into the cockpit of the F-14 with us!4 points

I completely understand that and I am not advocating for a quick/half a$$ed fix however, when you look at the big picture and realize how long this module has been in development and take into account that this is the second month since M3 has not had an update, it is even more bewildering that M3 sees fit to sit back and say nothing to a rather large groups of paying customers.4 points

Just wanted to ask are over-wing vapor effects for the module going to be tuned more? I know they depend on multiple parameters (atmospheric conditions, AoA etc), but in my uneducated opinion are a bit over the top in the simulator right now. I don't see them appear in the RIAT 2015 demo flight videos in that much degree for example:3 points

Thanks for the update, Team! We'll continue to (mostly) patiently wait for that "Buggy, Erratic TWS/Radar Behavior" Hornet series of bugs to make it in.3 points

Gotta say, some great additions in this patch. But I'm really disappointed of the Heatblur stuff - they promised the A-6 Intruder AI (!) variant that has been first teased about seven years ago would definitey come with this patch. I also kinda thought we would get the 95GR variant of the Tomcat, but this might be just me misunderstanding something. With the early 135 we get one additional skin. I know the old liveries will probably work just fine with this one, but still, one or two new official skins would have been nice. The QF-4 is a nice idea though - always great to blow something up3 points

This latest update is UNBELIEVABLY DISAPOINTING!! I don't know which is more infuriating, the lack of any kind of improvements or the absence of any comment from M3.3 points

Finally got the video knocked out. This is a combination of the VWV pack @TeTeT, VAP pack @Eight Ball, Eightball Maritime Pack, and in game massun92 @Massun92 addons. I will be adding @ViolentNomad Cobra to the map when it is released. Dropped some of his latest images in the video. I would like to do a follow up video with some suggestions for future Vietnam content for both TeTeT and EightBall. There are some really unique Riverine boats out there that I would like to see added to your packs if possible. Hope you like what is in the oven. Time stamps added, the video is a little lengthy demonstrating some low-level flight and how well the map handles it. Greatly appreciate all 3 mod devs and everything you bring to the table. The Vietnam vibe would not be alive in DCS without you gents tearing it up.3 points

They really need to be tied to humidity and temperature. You're not going to see that vapor in Nevada or Iraq, there's simply nothing to condense. We've already got temperature affecting contrails.3 points

Thank you to everyone for your input. In todays patch 22nd October 2025 AI aircraft. We look forward to your feedback Thank you3 points

we will provide an F-35A based on the available data at the time of project design. If new data becomes available later, like other weapon systems, we will evaluate integration then. As for the initial weapon list (only listed for about 25 hrs), that was scaled back after a more careful review of available data.' thank you3 points

I have to agree with all the above. As a naval helicopter pilot with my main experience being Atlantic and Mediterranean, sea state was an essential element of Met briefings. If the concept of 7th wave is a large one (with 3rd to 4th the moment to choose when landing) this would be a huge bonus. A quick and dirty relationship is that the sea state is approximately 1 level below the Wind Beaufort scale. Ie Wind force 6 = Sea state 5. Actually, there tends to be two wave cycles, 7 and 41, sometimes from different directions.3 points

Well, anyone who refers to 95-GR as Early F-14A is mistaken and misleading. 90/95-GR is the IIAF variant. Ordered 80 aircrafts, got 79. (160299 to 160378) Last BN:160378 went to NAWC (photo taken @ Top Gun - Miramar - 1994)3 points

And this is how I learned English back long time ago. Norwegian subtitles, English audio on television. No subtitles on Sky Channel, only English audio. Fast forward, got a daughter. Disney and Dreamworks DVDs. Started with Norwegian audio, then English, then Norwegian subtitles when she learned to read. Could understand English before starting school, and speak some. English is actually pretty easy. 50+%, French, (don't tell them suit on). The rest "German" and Viking. Now I'm 50 plus, teaching myself Italian.3 points

"Lutch" indicator for antiradiation missiles (replaces the TV when BA-58 "Wyuga" pod is mounted). With su-25a avionics those are still fired "maddog" but it allows to place the aircraft at a right angle so theres higher chance for signal interception by the seeker (yes, I have tested it).3 points
