  1. Yup, I had the same thing happen. Game load freezes at 23%. Thanks!
  2. This mod is still working for me on the latest 2.7.7 version from today. The kegetys/SOH mod (https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/183659-vr-shaders-mod-for-better-vr-experience/page/103/) is causing a DX11 error crash for me though. I believe they are aware of it and are seeing what can be done. Apparently the IC pass version still works
  3. I world also recommend giving this a shot:
  4. This might seem odd, but what finally worked for me was disabling the "power" service in services.msc. After rebooting with this change the "always there" stutters are gone, as in the stutters that are there regardless of what I'm doing - it still chugs a bit in busy missions, etc. This is on a rig I'm building for a friend, brand new 3070, 5600x, 32 GB of 3600 RAM. Strangely, my own 1080TI rig never has this problem. Found out about this here:
  5. I am necro'ing this thread because it has helped me immensely! I just built a new gaming PC for my buddy, and everything except DCS runs smoothly (RTX3070, 5600x, 32 GB 3600). On my 1080TI the game runs great so I've been pulling my hair out for the last two weeks trying to figure out why it was stuttering horribly on a brand new 3070! I didn't think it was hardware related given that other games were working fine, and I really wasn't looking forward to RMAing stuff when I didn't know for sure. But thanks to you guys, I don't have to! After disabling the power service in services.msc, the game runs like butter at 60 FPS in VR, and no ill effects observed yet due to disabling the power service. Fantastic! @Flappie and @RachmaninoffTHANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
  6. Woohoo! Does it still need FC3?
  7. And the bump that I showed in my photo doesn't upset your plane when you do that? Again, I'm not having any issue taking off due to weight. Even if my plane is empty, I still hit that bump before the jump and get flung into the air. And my landing gear still hits the ski jump.
  8. Hey thanks Heat. Did you redo the test as part of your Sept 26 update? Also, did you just turn rebar on in the Nvidia settings? Or did you also do the steps mentioned in the first part of this thread to "enable" it for DCS using the profile inspector? Thanks once again!
  9. Ha! That's awesome! In the game, it's way thicker than a quarter inch! Looks about a foot high. Full bomb load, 60% fuel. Starting from about halfway along the deck, maybe 300' from the bow according to the markings on the deck.
  10. Hey! Just curious if anyone has tried this recently. I just got a 3070 and turned on rebar, but I was wondering if it works for DCS again with the latest drivers. Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the reply, however I'm not sure it addresses my comment. There seems to be a bug with the deck on the Hermes. There's a bump on the deck before the ski jump, which launches my plane into the air before the actual ski jump (see my photo). Is that bump supposed to be there? If so, why? Thanks!
  12. Hi there, I'm using the Hermes 1981 version, and I've noticed a bit of a "bump before the jump" on the deck: When I hit this during take-off it causes the front wheel to jump and actually flips the Harrier into the air, but not enough to clear the ski jump, and I pretty much always smash my landing gear into it as I barely clear it. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks! PS Amazing mod, thanks for this!
  13. Hey, after reading your first post for the third or fourth time over the last few months as I keep upgrading, I just want to double check: are you running the steam version? Or standalone and playing with the steam API? Thanks!
  14. No problems here on the latest beta either, and yes this does increase framerate. That's why we're all here!
  15. So just to be clear, do you need to own the P51 to fly this? Thanks!
  16. I've noticed this as well. Tilt your head about 45° to either side, and all the shimmering and jaggies disappear. I wonder if this fact could point towards a solution.
  17. The latest beta has the fix that allows the wingmen to take off. The chocks and canopy are additional.
  18. Same. Open it in pancake, go do something, open a Spitfire mission in Normandy, go do something, open a Harrier mission in Persian Gulf, go do something, KA50 mission in Caucasus, etc, etc. Then when that's all done (about half an hour later), put on the VR headset and play. ...Yet? I have faith in you, Heat!
  19. Huh I had no idea it was supposed to be that way, but that totally makes sense! For heavy payloads, I've just been shifting into reverse (nozzle 98°, throttle 50%) and backing up to the back of the boat before take off! Your solution seems more realistic though
  20. So the "wingmen not taking-off from ships" bug appears to be fixed, but I've noticed it still shows wheel chocks appearing everytime the Harrier wingmen come to a stop. It happens on the Tarawa and it happens on terra firma as well, like on a busy taxi way stopped waiting behind other planes. I've noticed at the same time that the canopy opens as well, and stays open during taxiing. Let me know if you want me to create a separate bug for that, but somehow this seems related - like the "standing still Harrier" animation is carrying over into the "moving Harrier" animation, if you know what I'm saying. I'm on latest beta from last Friday, issue appears with or without mods enabled.
  21. Ok I set myself as #3 in a three ship flight lifting off from the Tarawa. First try was with wingmen below maximum VTOL weight. They all taxiied to the take off spot and lifted off vertically. After this, I loaded everyone up with a full bomb load and tried again. In this case, each wingman taxiied to the take off spot and then (oh no!) The wheel chocks appeared and they gunned their engines with nozzles at what looked like about 30-40 degrees. I thought, oh crap, the big is still there! But after about ten seconds, the wheel chocks disappeared an the jet took off! Second wingman, exact same thing. So the wingmen not taking off from ships bug appears to be fixed, but those wheel chocks are definitely still a bug. They appear on terra firma as well, anytime a Harrier stops, like on a busy taxi way, the wheel chocks appear. This is not intended behaviour. Perhaps I'll start a new thread for this since it appears to be separate from the take-off one.
  22. I tried it with canopy open as you suggested, and you're right! With the canopy open, I can move the camera up, but with it closed, it will only go down, regardless of position. So maybe a bug after all!
  23. Having just spent the last couple of hours trouble shooting various shader mods and then rebuilding every time to see if it worked, I would love to see something that builds your shaders in the background! Something you could just click and walk away while it somehow opens all your modules and all your maps in the background. Fantastic idea!
  24. Ahh, sorry, too many mods, not enough brain cells!
