Make sure you have all of the updated Dist. files from Microsoft. Found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003 Run a Repair just to be sure of the downloads accuracy. Delete the Saved Games folder. Add your system specs. incase things still are FUBARD. And Don't stay gone so long:) Things are moving fast now.

Yes. The repair should catch anything out of sorts with the dll you mentioned.

Is that 5450 a DX12 Card? Does it have enough Ram? As per the system requirements of the Sim.

Yes. The more "Eye Candy" the users ask for the more space required to deliver upon that request. It is the same for the High Level 3d games on the market today. And I am loving every minute of it. Always upgrade to the largest drive your money can buy. Which should be a lot considering you are running an i7 950 from yrs. back you have saved a lot of money with that wise choice alone.

I have an extra 120Gig. SSD after updating to a 250Gig. Would love to send it to you if you give it a good home.

What CPU? Check for running programs when you start the Sim. and turning off any Anti-Virus programs

On a side note. You may want to consider upgrading that GPU to something with more Ram, 1G is cutting it close for the eye candy available now.

They sometimes need reinstallation a crash usually precedes this issue and not necessarily while using the Sim. other programs crashes affect the files. You are using both GPUs' in SLi Mode when this happens? Have you run the sim. with just one GPU?

There was a mode in the "User Section" of the downloads page. I don't know if it will work in the new ver. though as it was created for an older ver. of the sim.

He only has 1Gig. of mem. on that GPU.

There was one in the user files of the download section of the Forum. A user edited the PDF to fit onto an eReader.

It May be to late for this but, I always order PC with out the OS installed in order to allow the transfer of my existing OS and files onto the new PC. I usually have things set the way I like them on my older PC and prefer to just set the newer PC just as my older one is set up. Migration Tools are awesome.
