Its very difficult to make a mission because everytime I think of an objective and look at the objects DCS has right now, its like, "here we go again, anoooother coms tower", or "another HQ". There're some good statics like the Gas Platform or Oil Rig that were added since a few years, but for example the Tech Combine is awesome for a mission but its VERY old. DCS needs big structures that can be good objectives, like embassies and a few gubernamental buildings.

The game still has the same models from 20 years ago. And its very difficult to do missions with the same 4-5 viable objects for years now. The game needs lots of new civilian and military objects. If you look at the encyclopedia and take 1 minute to look them you would think you're playing a 90's game. Most of the statics are very dated and I cant make missions with cows and "beer bombs".

Two quick input suggestions
Ignition replied to Mr_Blastman's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
You can assign "shift" buttons with the modifiers button, is the first one from the bottom on the controls menu. You can customize the throttle axis so it can activate the AB at a specified position. Its not very friendly but its possible. -
The aircraft is moving so it will move with the terrain/change of distance and not with the radar image. Or is something else? I didn't notice any drift.

reported Problem with Ripple Fire Maverick G
Ignition replied to Angel101's topic in Bugs and Problems
I had the same probem 3 times. I thought the targets were very close and the explosion were destroying the mavericks in the air but your target were more spread out. I used the D version. -
yes, very slow, and for me the HSD cursor is very fast

Sometime ED added in the briefing "from" where the wind is blowing instead of "to" direction, it may be realted to that since its the opposite direction.
-
It was going to be a block I, but then they added stuff from the block II. I think its not a specific aircraft.

Hi @BIGNEWY, can someone at ED check this? I don't know if its a WIP or a bug. Thanks.

For me the most complex of the F-16 is the SPI, because it depends on the mode selected in each weapon, it's not independent like in the F-18 or A-10. It happened to me more than once when I set a waypoint for a SPI but I'm for example in Bore with a maverick and the SPI now it's something "impossible" with hundreds of miles. In the F-16 you need to think how you want to attack and then where and for me that's not the most simple way fo thinking.

Its the only way I know it since the AGM-65G can't be used in auto (besides I very rarely use auto). I had the TGP just to look for a "good target". You can only lock with that maverick in SOI, and yes it should be independant. Thanks, now that you mention it I remember reading about that switch. Its a shame it's not working correctly because it's a really nice weapon against buildings. I guess this is bacause it's still a WIP or should this go to the bug subforum? Can someone of ED check this out?

Its not even in the game yet.

I'm testing the maverick in force correlate and when I try to fire it to a building it flies over and hit the ground after it, like targeting the ground where the TGP is pointing. Shouldn't this mode fly to the "object" or image where its pointed? From the manual page 291 says: "...instead using an image-correlation algorithm suitable for tracking elements within a picture" I also tested it with stationary ships and it was the same. agm65FC.trk

The DCS manual in the page 64 says "Only the elevation is editable; all other fields are read-only." Its really a shame because its nearly useless.

What countermeasures program do you use in the Viper?
Ignition replied to Sneeki's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
P 1 > chaff = { burstQty = 1, burstIntv = 0.02, salvoQty = 4, salvoIntv = 0.75, }, P 2 > flare = { burstQty = 1, burstIntv = 0.02, salvoQty = 4, salvoIntv = 0.5, }, P 3 > chaff = { burstQty = 1, burstIntv = 0.1, salvoQty = 5, salvoIntv = 0.75, }, flare = { burstQty = 1, burstIntv = 0.1, salvoQty = 5, salvoIntv = 0.75, }, P 4 > flare = { burstQty = 1, burstIntv = 0.1, salvoQty = 10, salvoIntv = 1.0, }, } -
It's planned for 2022.

Does the spi update after using the laser? I thought it didn't update.

There're a lot o player who overuse the paddle switch, in combat almost every single turn above 8G. And without any aircraft penalty. They transform the F-18 in a F-16.

LD-10 RCS value change - What was the old value?
Ignition replied to johnv2pt0's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Maybe because of how radars work in DCS. They were invisible to even a SA-15. -
Yes it takes it from the ME, I always put the target waypoint at 0ft so it always matches ground level.
-
You had an incorrect altitude in the steerpoint.
-
Don't worry about boresight parallax. I always boresight a few meteres in front of the plane when on the ramp usually with the taxi lights or a vehicle. It works , I use mavericks regularly and never have any issue aligning both the TGP and maverick to the target. If it wasn't the case, at 10nm the maverick would look way outside the target.
-
The maverick is not difficult, I recommend you to not use AUTO in TGP, just manual bacause AUTO is very slow and unpredictable. If the maverick didn't lock on you're waisting more time to reacquarie and its very dangerous. For me the types of weapons are the disappointing thing in the F-16, it has much less options compared to F-18 or JF-17.
