  1. It seems that today's OB patch has changed the looks of the rearm/refuel window, to be a bit more transparent and generally darker. Stylistic taste aside, trying it for the first time now I found that when selecting a pylon and/or an ordnance category there is a delay for the list to appear. Personally I find that rather irritating. Anybody else having that issue?
  2. Well, provided that such user-defined 3D target points were to be implemented, they might come with a 'target radius' like artillery fire does, I guess. Is there such a thing as AA barrage with the units from the WW2 asset pack?
  3. And here I thought the F-101 had been famous for that one. Hardly more than a novelty item anyways, I'd say.
  4. What's the point? Yes, that's how many files there are. Campaigns may basically be a string of mission files, but for every campaign there are a few extra files to be considered, like a singular campaign definition file, campaign splash image and the like.
  5. Guess that means the Epic Games Store is doing great still.
  6. As a matter of fact the supercarrier module addresses this issue in a very coy manner, as one can place deck crew anyway. The caveat is they are only visible to people who own the supercarrier. In other words: +1 Please, ED, give us one or two general civilians and, at long last, also a place-able pilot entity! The latter does have all necessary animations already, the former could pretty much share them.
  7. If you want to get in that kind of vein, I would prefer something like personal nose-art that can be used with applicable planes. That would probably be easier to implement as well, as it could work in a manner akin to bord numbers, whereas a helmet would need to scale to a variety of pilot models.
  8. Apparently yes.
  9. It's not only the reflection but also the tint.
  10. Having a possible keybind to switch it on/off manually would be really good, especially since the logic governing when it appears automatically is wonky at best.
  11. Need is a very strong word.
  12. Big question: would you want to wait around for an hour or two to see it actually arrive then?
  13. Some of them do look a little garish, but I'm afraid just making them longer causes problems in some places, where there just isn't enough space. Not sure if the terrain engine is capable to finding where the next road node would be.

Yes, but it requires me to know all the set frequencies of the mission beforehand. A lot of other modules (including BST/ED modules) have an automatic export to the kneeboard, which would just be convenient and - as it is around for so many other modules - supposedly not too hard. That is not to take away from the initial suggestion of having an option to change these in some way still.
  15. I like the idea, but perhaps it's easier if the concept of 'trial days' just catches on a bit.
  16. Just want to point out that a lot of new sub-missions have been added to this, and they are great fun!

It would be a big step forward to include a kneeboard page simply listing the set frequencies for when you are flying missions other people have created.
  18. You could just not include the weapons in question in the mission you are building. Remove them from the airbase warehouses and you're done.
  19. ♫ We're the wingmen and you know we never miss, We just shot our flight lead down and now he's f.ing pissed ♪
  20. The way I see it, all this thread shows is the surprising fact that, yes real life politics do impact your hobby. Same for all of us.
  21. While it's sure nice to have I personally find the wide range of submarines in DCS a little puzzling at this point, considering they have very little impact on the battlefield as of now, and even once they do, that is mostly impact the player has very little interaction with.
  22. Perhaps having a 'manuals' subfolder with all installed modules' manuals in the DCS start menu folder would be great.
  23. No offence, but: I thought I had. You can set up a mission to include music playing as a radio transmission from somewhere. Thus you get music when you switch the radio to a certain frequency. For a video, of course, you could also just use a little bit of clever editing. I think that's how it happened in the ol' Huey trailer as well.
  24. Korrekter Wert für TAS (und damit Machzahl) erfordert natürlich auch korrekt eingestellten Höhenmesser?
  25. My difference in perception might be linked to how well certain groups seem to grasp the differences between simulations, reality and propaganda.
