  1. hello. you should start a new topic. piggybacking on a solved topic may get ignored.
  2. shh it may be one of "ED's proxy accounts" /s what a maroon. well put @Gierasimov i too do not really care what others think. i pre-purchased the module. i realize it is not going to be perfect; especially with some people on the forums. i would also remind everyone that perfection is impossible. to get all worked up about silliness spewing from people's anonymous mouths is really not close to being worth it. my grandfather used to say "it's a miracle that it works at all." keep up the good work developers. keep your chins up. most of us love you all.
  3. i ran across this video yesterday. pretty sweet. the cc shows use of air boresight.
  4. i am by no means an expert with HARM. one question. do you have the HTS pod mounted? though the F-16 is less sophisticated than the F-18 is many ways. so it goes to figure.
  5. hello. i did this PDF after i got a new PC. perhaps this with help. https://pcwiseman.com/downloads_files/DCS_New_Computer.pdf
  6. i was stationed in Wildflecken. This was the furthest east permanent unit in germany. fulda gap was about 15 km from fulda gap. we went on alerts to the border all the time. south of the gap. there is a little protuberance of land between states hessen and thuringia. the latter being in the east. it sticks out into the west. lost of eastern units were there.
  7. yes like i said. my sweet spot is 6-7 mile. 1 mile would be too close IMO. i do not know if it real world or not. i just care that it works. most f-16 pilots probably do not have a beer on the right panel cup holder either.
  8. we had to boresight our tank main gun with the sights. we usually did this at targets 1000 meters away. the closer or further away you had a target in the sight, the boresight would be off and progressively more off when you moved away from 1000 meters. so in my case with the F16, i know that one cannot get a target lock more than 8 miles and a more likely target lock is about 6-7 miles, i boresight at 6-7 miles and always try to shoot 6-7 miles. it boils down to geometry. i may be totally wrong though it seems to work for me.
  9. since 3 years ago, apparently it went away and then returned. it has been reported.
  10. you should post the entire DCS.LOG. since you reinstalled windows and dcs, perhaps you have some inconsistencies in the configs. try to rename the dcs folder in saved games and try dcs again. do not delete the folder! its where your controller bindings reside.
  11. "not so good" track. i believe the issues were not boresighting. the first two vehicles were in the open. no problems. the second two were really close together and the invulnerable trees were in the way. the last volley looked like to me you shot two mavs at same target. maybe the track got problematic?
  12. bignewy asked for anyone with continuing problems to share a short track. i do not see any tracks posted since he asked.
  13. unfortunately this is something that happens in complex software designing. i am a sys admin and we keep change logs for all changes. to alleviate the issues with dcs is i keep my own change logs including screenshots. this also occasionally happens with nvidia drivers. an update will introduce a change, being a removal or an addition of a feature. dcs is trying to improve and this happens. windows 10 to 11 is a good example.
  14. from what i can read, the S3 does not carry much gas. it is possible that it ran out before the second hornet got there. maybe that is modeled.
  15. hi as said unless you airstart, you have to boresight the missile to tgp. once that is done you set the tgp to auto (OSB2 i think). then make sure the distance is within 8 miles, changing point track on target, the missile will lock on.
  16. nice! we need rules. how much fuel at start? how much fuel at end? how fast to 74k? should we be avoiding AA at that altitude?
  17. hello. if you can repeat it, please save a short track and post it. here are my nvidia settings. driver 528.24. there is currently a newer driver in the last week though. also look to see if you have zoom bound to a controller and maybe it is going in and out fast. null null
  18. sometime DCS does not like OC of any kind so be aware.
  19. hello. i am not real sure what it means. however it appears on this post and @BIGNEWY replied that it was reported. the topic was locked without much ceremony. i am not sure if this is what caused your crash. are other missions ok? if so it points to a mission issue.
  20. are you talking about how the image is getting dark? if so i believe it is related to the notice in the upper right corner. null PS my bad, this is your method of recording. i cannot see the flickering though.
  21. understood. having DCS on a separate drive will help your efforts. the upgrade to win 11 is not de facto a failure. it really depends on the state of the win 10 before upgrade. i have seen bad migrations and good migrations. good luck.
  22. no need to redownload everything unless you are formatting and then installing Win11. essentially you need to copy all the ED folders and run a repair. also make sure the shortcuts have the correct path. if you are just upgrading, it should be ok. also very important is to make a copy of your Saved Games. you can migrate all your controls with those files. have a look at this video. not migrating Windows but this will give you some tips.
