Does Snowplow button (function) work now? I don't think it does well, at least while on the ground.

The problem of DCS (and most of the game out there), is that the load is still not spread out evenly. So 1 or 2 cores are overloaded, while the rest is almost idling. There is still a lo of work to do regarding MT, to make use of it in full potential. So, despite 7800X3D (or 7950X3D) are overall gaming kings, in DCS and specially in VR, the best option is 13900K atm.

Intel i9-13900k or AMD 7950X3D for DCS in VR
skywalker22 replied to Platypus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Another interesting video, comparing 7800X3D and 5800X3D. Is it really worth spanding that money for a newer CPU? -
Intel i9-13900k or AMD 7950X3D for DCS in VR
skywalker22 replied to Platypus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
7800X3d is better then 13900K in almost all games, specially in flight sims. Up to now, I was buying Intel CPUs for 25 years (since AMD 300, overclocked to 450). But now, I am not so much convinced any more into Intel. Latest AMD generation did a major step forward, and I'm starting thinking going back to AMD. 7800X3D is so tempting.... But maybe as of now, the Intel's CPUs still have a slight advantage in DCS, specially in VR. -
Is it possible to change these params in the file and changes actually take place without restarting the game? Didn't try that, that's why I'm asking.

New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Taxiing to the runway.... damn... 15-20fps LOL And also 20fps during in the air: Clearly CPU bottleneck! That's also DCS issue. while Multi treading is not yet optimized! -

This is how it looks from VR, when standing still, have to fly, will do it later. -
13900KS: E-cores useful in dcs ?

Why? I know here is some theory explained, but is this really the case? @Hippo did you also do it? -
i5-11600K to i5-13600K, worth the upgrade?
skywalker22 replied to AlpineGTA's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Did you buy 13600K? I am also considering it, and I bought 4090. I think the upgrade is surely worth it, if having the best GPU out there. -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In my understanding so far, when fps drops from 72 to 36, it's because of CPU, not GPU. And this is also not the problem of the CPU it self, but ED, which (still) puts too much work (load) on one single thread (core at the end). -

New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
1st of all, thx, I turned sigs on. 2nd of all, you dip into 30s? That low? Damn... I didn't expect that. So there is something wrong with DCS optimization of cores usage. ED still has a lot of work to do regarding Multi Threading. I doubt I am much worse with my CPU in VR, will try it tomorrow, and let you know. ps: please install MSI AB app, its good for optimizing your GPU by using Undervoltage, and seeing specs on display (not in VR, but you can see them on monitor while flying). I am really interested the power consumption of your GPU. There is nothing about power consumption in that file you provided. -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Multiplayer is not a problem, its not your CPU doing all the processing (unless you are the host). I fly mainly online, daily on PvP G.S. server for example, with 64players, or some 4YA servers with heavy missions with no problem what so ever. Yes, please, check some offline mission now when u have an overall monster, how's the system holding up running some heavy stuff. -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have Pro. So far, I don't find CPU is limited in VR, it seems it's only struggling in heavy missions, which has nothing to do with VR. -

One more question, how much work is there with these "water" type of coolers? Do you have to open, clean and replace the coolant? If so, how often? -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Awesome mate, happy for you I'm in a sort of condition you would like to be. I have 4090 and 10700k And considering now buying 13600k to 13900k, still not decided yet. How are you cooling 13900kf? What temps does it reach in DCS (VR and non VR)? -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not that I am on a tight budget, just considering the value performance vs cost, that's all. If there is almost no difference in performance between these 2, I would rather pick the cheeper one. -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok, understood. So this is a good news then. Just have to decide which one to pick 13600 or 13700 series Would you also go for 13600k? Based on all the tests I have seen, its just a bit behind it's bigger brother, its almost nothing. The only question is how it will behave in VR. -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I also have Noctua NH-D15 cooler on 10700K, and I would use it on upgrade. So you are saying there are higher temps now on 13700K. How much higher? That's the most I am worried about. And just because of that I would rather go for 13600K - less power, lower temp. Not for much, I know. But as you were guessing, is it worth it? 600€ upgrade for what? -
New Build: i7-13700K vs i9-13900K for VR?
skywalker22 replied to Kirk66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Does anyone having i5 13600K CPU? Based on benchmarks there is not a lot of difference to bigger brothers, but way lower power usage and temperature. I have 4090 and 10700k atm, and considering buying something new, but still not sure what. -
correct as is Fuselage and Tail lights switches are backwards
skywalker22 replied to KrazyS0b's topic in Bugs and Problems
Lighting for Wing/Tail and Fuselage toggle switches are switched between themselves. One turns on the the other, and vice versa. No need of a track. -
Sorry, but this doesn't make any sense, any sense at all, at least not to me. I just don't get it how come is so hard to understand the basic meaning of TGT SEP button? It just doesn't matter the distance nor the azimuth of any threat out there, except the main one with a diamond symbology. So this main one stays exactly in the same spot as before. All others can be placed any where around, just making sure for not overlapping each other. That's it. I don't know where did you find this documentation of yours, but I am sure it's not from real F-16 Block 50 (or any other version) RWR, just can't be.
