marluk
Hi guys! Does anybody knows where we are? Around the corner? Few weeks? Or few months away from DSCW 2? I would appreciate if somebody competent could inform us about that, because I will switch on hibernation mode in case 2.0 is not scheduled for near feature. Thanks. Cibit
We hope to release DCS World 2 in the first half of 2015. This is not a promise but simply our best estimate given the current development status as of December 2014. We also cannot promise that each feature listed above will make it into the initial release. From first post i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
-VSAAF- Sender
What does "DCS World 2 will also usher in the ability to have multiple maps integrated into DCS" refer too? Does this mean that one could potentially fly from one map region into the next, thus extending a theater size?

Does this mean that one could potentially fly from one map region into the next, thus extending a theater size? Means we are going to have more than one map available. ED is hoping to be able to "stitch" together maps to eventually create the world. There has been no news to indicate that goal is anywhere near being achieved. Psyrixx
When did ED say they were hoping to create the entire world? From what I recall, it was part of the DCS WWII propaganda. They said they could take maps and then increase the size by stitching two maps together, and could theoretically make a map as large as hard drive space allowed. One of the videos with Luthier in it. Robert Sogomonian | Psyrixx website| e-mail | blog | youtube | twitter

Rongor
I really do hope we will have some autogen scenery (like in prepar3d and former MSFS) between the detailed DCS map chunks, so that we actually can have a globe.

Griffon26
See here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116893 You're very very unlikely to see the F22 in DCS, slightly less unlikely for the F35 but still almost 0% chance. Thank you for the Link Buzzles, sadly they couldnt implement them... They have already answered about collisions with trees as far as I know... oh look, its in the first post ;) pls excuse I missed the Tree part in the first post >.< "More detailed tree models with collision for new maps" Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Never parachute into an area you've just bombed You never have too much fuel, unless you burn. Raven68
Hopefully soon we can get a release date development status update since we are approaching the 2nd half of 2015. This might be as good as we can get for now... A little update: Today we reached a significant milestone of moving the NTTR map into full internal testing such that our external testers can now pound on it. There are still several blocking bugs, but we are working hard to resolve them has fast as we can. As mentioned in the first post of this thread, let's all try to keep on topic please. I am expecting some more announcement, or some secret editing of the first post. We'll have to wait and see. The first half of 2015 is rapidly approaching its end. I hear you on this; it would be nice to have a revised ETA. However, since the build was just recently released to the test team, there are naturally a lot of variables in the air. If there are no complicated showstopper bugs, we could still be fairly close. If the testers find some nasty or insidious bugs that take a while to fix, it could be a while longer. One thing I would hope is that if one of these showstopper bugs is found, that the community would be notified of the delay in a timely fashion so that we could preserve the F5 key on our keyboards. :D -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

Notice that it was on the NTTR map that Wags was updating us, not on EDGE/DCS 2.0. As far as I understand, EDGE is not tied to NTTR. Not in principle at least. joebloggs
How come Edge can't just run alongside what we have now in beta? We already have a beta exe launcher and people don't complain because they know this is just for testing. I don't think people will be that bothered by bugs because it's usually a constant battle to eliminate them all.
