the map is about to cost 39,99$ for non A-10C beta purchasers? I thought it should be roundabout 20$?.

I doubt it because as far as I know, this is the first time we're seeing a price tag...

Price is OK imho, considering the quality. On par with many detailed FSX sceneries. And since ED loves to make sales like a million times a year, I don't think this is an issue even for people with lower budgets as we're surely going to see this one discounted as well.... eventually.

well...I dont think so

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1328008&postcount=1

this was an official statement (in german, so that means that there must be somewhere the english official update).

Read point 4 and put it in Google translater if necesarry...

I am just telling that I wonder why the price was doubled now...asking should be allowed, shouldn´t it?

Thats why I´m asking whether I did missed somethings? any announcement that the price has changed?

Things have changed greatly from 2011... the map from the beta might have been worth 20 bucks, but the amount of work and time that has gone into what we see now is quite a bit more than what that was.

They estimated the price back in 2011; now it's 2015 and they went from a 4-year-old estimate to an updated price. It's all good. Since 2011, NTTR has evolved into something much better than we would have seen in 2011...

Any progress on the strait of hormuz map (or other maps:-)) or is everyone working on wrapping up nevada now ? Personally I'm not that interested in nevada map tbh. Sure I'll buy it just to support ED and fly somewhere else than Georgia but nevada looks so boring to me. It looks like mars surface :-)

The price is fine. Just to put it into perspective it's like an airport scenery for x-plane.

edit: damn, I posted this into wrong thread. I meant to post it into the newsletter thread.

ok...seems everybody is fine with it, so am I then. It would nonetheless be nice if it would be a little bit more transparent.

How are they not being transparent? The price has changed from 2011 because its not the same product. What's the issue?

that f18 picture looks so good

Yeah, can't wait to fly that beauty! And given it is the Vapor King, I was happy to see over wing vapor mentioned as a wip feature also.

No mention of spotting in relation to EDGE yet though unless I missed it? Do we know if that is a priority or even affected by the new engine?

Was a little disappointed but if this is an emphasis for release in 2.0 I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

"New multiplayer GUI system that allows multiple players in the same aircraft and multiple player aircraft in the same flight. This is critical for multi-seat aircraft like the L-39, UH-1H, Hawk, etc." And yes please I hope the have a system in place for team play in multi-crew.

DCS 2, Georgia Map update?

I know this has been talked about partially, but does anyone know if the horrible legacy map objects from lock on/flanker will be updated or removed? I'm talking specifically about the cranes at ports and other random things that are extreme fps killers.

Isn't the NTTR map dependent on DCS2 which in effect is suppose to use EDGE to generate DDR11 specs? Please explain. How can we purchase for 39.95 the NTTR map and use it when EDGE and DCS2 has not been released?

I also agree that ED should not give any details of any developments they are working on until they are ready to be released.....In beta.

Clearly marketing software has changed. Just mention that the developers are working on such and such brings a title wave of innuendo.

These days of releasing products in alpha and charging full price seems confusing. There many supporters of ED that will test their products for free. And sign NDA agreements. And have the knowledge to do so.

Please, I am not trying to excoriate ED. Just trying to understand.

I am also confused on the numerous projects the ED is doing. Given that DCS is not their main development focus, and I have asked this before, how many programmers does ED have working on DCS products?

I read that ED had 200 or so employees. Then I read lately that ED has about 50 employees.

It appears that other 3rd party developers are able to bring out a DCS compatible product within a year. Their teams are usually about 4 or 5 members....and do it in their spare time.

With the list of projects that ED's employees are involved in DCS, its incredible what they have accomplished.

I have to guess that ED has 4 or 5 full time employees working on DCS.

That's a lot of overtime. And my hats off too them.

NTTR is not available, but maybe I didn't understand your question.

Well the community is to blame for that, not ED.

If a Dev explicitly states that the product is a pre-sale/early access to an alpha/beta product then the end user is entirely to blame if they were expecting a completed and polished product.

DCS is their main focus; outside of any Military contracts they have.

Yes, third parties only have to worry about their module, not developing the actual sim that the module ties into, sure reduces the work load considerably.
