And yes this is definitely my most anticipated module ever.... More than a hornet, more than a Viper, I just want exactly THIS!

 

I would not place a bet on it though, the multicrew part is really a big deal for many guys especially the single player part of dcs.

 

But still... My dream module and I would immediately start building the required hardware for me and squadron mates if this gets announced

Excellent artwork! Having spent a career flying every variant from A to E, I would welcome a DCS World AH-64A or D study simulator. After a long day of training fledgling Apache pilots out at the flightline, many of the instructor pilots joke incessantly about going home and flying F-18s or F-14s on the weekends.

I think we won't see news about it any time soon.

There was the question on reddit topic about current DCS projects list, about it - to be precise if it was Apache, posted to ED COO and she said:

 

"The new module will come which is not on the list I posted We have several projects in mind but we'll keep it unnamed until we will be close to the decision(...)"

 

Then, there was a follow-up on what they decide upon and COO replied again:

 

"The choice of an aircraft is based on:

• community demand
  
• available fleet and terrains
  
• gameplay
  
• available docs
  
• available knowledge/resource allocation
  
• available SME
  
• third parties developments
  
• restrictions and risks of delivery
  

"

 

If this is the true stage of this, that means Wags teased us, but the actual aircraft has not been selected yet.

 

Which is pretty much same as saying, we will "make next module" as well.

 

After all, mind-blowing could be the list of potential aircraft, which at this stage means nothing really.

I am more than happy with the moduls we already have (especially with the hornet).

 

Really apreciate (and what is also more important than new fighters imho) that ED focuses more on core functions (improved ATC for carrier and airfields, FLIR, new clouds and improved weather) and also the new supercarrier which is just around the corner

If it is not a Flanker ED dont know what community is eagerly waiting for. Compare how many MIG-29/Su-27 squads we had before to now. Consider 1/4 of world as majority,

Russians, Chinese and Indians alone are 3/5 of worlds population right now those are mostly Russian operated nations so far and ED negating their desires.

Eagerly awaited to me implies that it must have been mentioned before by ED, maybe even years ago; how else can we await something eagerly if it wasn't mentioned before in the first place...?

 

Personally, for me the most eagerly awaited module was the DCS F-16 - and that is now a reality.

 

Another that was mentioned years ago by ED was the Apache - which I personally still eagerly await.

 

However, if eagerly awaited is something that ED hasn't mentioned before because they didn't want to do it before, but a lot of us mention it in our discussions and wish lists, than I would also like to see a (reasonably) modern variant of either the Flanker, Fulcrum, or Frogfoot.

 

So yeah, fingers crossed.

Well, ED said it won't be a helo, as it will be done by the "fixed wing" team so I'm not sure why it keeps coming up. And I totally agree that they have to sort out the AI multicrew issues before any attack helos become really popular. I personally stopped flying certain versions of the Gaz on account of it.

Why should it have to be mentioned by ED for us to eagerly await it? When the F-16 was not a thing yet there was a wishlist thread for it almost every other week, in other words it was eagerly awaited because so many people wished for it. There are always more then enough wishlisters in every single forum section, so you can easily base eagerly awaited on that.

 

In other words, somebody count all the wishlists on this forum, the one with the most counts must be it :D
