fixed Obnoxious DCS startup times since 2.8.6.41393 OpenBeta MT (around 120 seconds!)

From double clicking my MT shortcut to the GUI screen opening 4 minutes and 4 secs. Much, much longer than before the latest update.

Since the latest updates I've noticed an impressive drop in the simulator's performance, it got even slower when starting up. Also, it happened more than once that after starting up I had incredible frame drops until the mouse pointer stopped (a couple of times it even crashed).
After starting up and finally having access, especially in multiplayer you can see that it suffers a lot in loading textures etc...
I have a fairly performing PC with recent components but during use there are times when the frames drop a lot.
I hope the developers manage to optimize the situation.

umm well usually they like to see a track and your DCS Log files.

Hello!, im not sure if already reported or if im in the right section here but has anyone else noticed DCS taking about twice as long to start up with the new update? my friend is experiencing the same issue

I also have this (MT) very long time on initial logo loading screen. Seems OK after that although I see less loading screens than before. Possibly a bit quicker than before. I was wondering if I needed to let saved games regen.

honestly IMO something has changed. i do not believe it has anything to do with the saved games unless mods and scripts are involved. i would let it regen. find something to do for 3 minutes while it loads.

i agree, ingame it seems the same as before(maybe even faster) as you say, im just refering to the initial startup of dcs

same here - much longer to start to get to the main menu - then all fine

Same here. Especially the moment when the 100% progress bar has finished and the main menu should become visible. This step never took a noticeable time, but now I am on 15 seconds or so ...
Also, the time after the module authentication up to the progress bar is much longer ...

I'm also having this issue. Also I'm not sure if its related or not but it takes a long time for the multiplayer server list to populate also, sometimes it didn't and I restarted the game.

I’ve noticed this too. If you have a look at task manager and the cpu core utilization it becomes interesting. Depending on the cpu check out water your cores are doing.

there are several posts about the slow loading. i agree. you should upload dcs.log and a track if possible.

+1 wouldn't say loading time is doubled, but I've never stopped the time witch a watch. But it's definitely longer than previous patch.

yep same problem here. went from a 1 minute load to about 3 minute load. Also, exiting dcs takes a lot longer now too. annoying as hell.

Seeing this too, the exit is also considerably longer than before the patch. I suspect the changelog doesn't tell the whole story charge wise.
