All I can say is I have to get up at oh-dark-freaking-ridiculous to catch my flight home, and if there isn't a patch ready by the time I get there I might leave a nasty surprise in BN's litter box.

Of course I still have that quarter that it will get subjected to change, just to hedge my bets.  I've still got, roughly, a mole of skills to learn before I have the current patch mastered so it's not like I'll be reduced to twiddling my fingers.  New throttle should arrive in a couple days, too!

This is such a cop out. The "OB" version is the live game, since that's where the entire playerbase is.

Top feature speculations for the 2.9 release:

  • Trucks are now capable of hauling trailers, including towed artillery.
  • Jester AI will now not only judge your landing, but also your parking accuracy (includes planes parked alongside F-14s).
  • The cows are finally augmented by also adding sheep.
  • All radio communication gets routed through an ED server in order to censor out inappropriate words.
  • The updated S-3 Viking tanker features an optional George W. Bush as copilot for no particular reason.

Is it really a cop out? I'm open to a better suggestion if you think it's a cop out. Please explain how can ED get a real "Beta" version to the public to test on their servers, scripts, and missions to identify issues prior to going live before actual release besides having a dedicated 'Open Beta' and "Stable' release?

That last one concerns me.  Does this mean they reel in the drogue after five gallons of fuel transferred?  Mission accomplished?

I've heard back-office rumors the sheep have bugs, or at the very least fleas.  Hopefully they get that fixed in time.

what I like(d) about SRS is the fact that you could use the same button for calling the radio menu as for transmitting via VOIP. as it looks in this video I have now bind 4 buttons if I wanna use VOIP and the Radio Menus for 2 Radios.

This depends on what you fly. It's true for ED modules, but most 3rd parties implemented a combined command (press for menu, hold for VOIP). We should lobby ED to follow suit.

Just hoping that if they do release it today that the infrastructure holds up better than for the F15E release!
