FC4/FC 2024 doesn't show up (for me) as a discrete option. Only the individual aircraft.  Also, I note that in the DCS Folder structure, all of the aircraft used to be nested under a FLAMING CLIFFS folder, but now that folder only contains two folders (COCKPIT and MISSIONS) while all the other stuff is in separate folders for each aircraft. Similarly, the SPECIAL tab used to have all aircraft nested under the FC3 tab but now they are all individual.

Maybe because I didn't  (re)-Install Flaming Cliffs 3, but as everything was working fine with my FC3 aircraft, I didn't want to Break anything.

I upgraded to FC4 and all my FC aircraft are now listed separately.

Edit: The new FC jets (F-5, F-86, and Mig-15) have "FC" after their designation. For example, "F-5E FC"

Good to know. I’m still days away from having the new update installed and being able to install FC4.

Hmmm.... F86FC cockpit looks kind of off...Mirror hanging in the air and slanted HUD glass? Don't have the Full Fidelity F-86 so I don't know if this is "Correct as is" 

EDIT:  OK looks like the "Sighting Glass" is correct at an angle, though it does look a bit more angled than the picture in the manual. Mirror still bugs me

No, it is a glitch that occured for some due to the conversion of the PACK to the individual aircraft. It will be fixed according to @BIGNEWY

I seem to be one of the very lucky ones who had no problem (yet... LOL)

Correct as is. A-4 gunsight had slanted reflector glass (like all reflector sights to this day actually, at least the ones with collimators installed vertically below in their bases), while the foldable mirror bracket was glued to the canopy plexiglass. Screen below shows how it looks in FF module.

I don't own FC4, but looking at your screen I'm a bit underwhelmed to see the same old cockpit textures as in FF version. I suppose the same applies to MiG-15. There were some neat new textures shown in teaser materials weeks ago, but maybe they just didn't make it in time for today's patch.

I had FC3, now with the update I don't have it. If I click the buy button it sends me to a page with FC on it but no way to buy it. My update icon shows a red dot and it shows I can d/l FC but when I try to do that I get a message that the authorization failed.

I am also experiencing this problem. Why have my purchases been taken from me? I have owned these on Steam since February 2014. Pretty sure this qualifies as a "stopper issue" prior to releasing a patch.

Correct-as-is as already mentioned above.
I do wonder though why the cockpit looks so "meh". Do you have textures on high? I thought the cockpit looked a bit better in the trailer, but maybe that was just favorable lighting conditions...
I realize that the FF version is an old module, but since other Flaming Cliffs aircraft received facelifts, i was expecting that to be the case for all of them...

Question:  Do I need to download it or will it FUBAR the FC4 installation?

Actually, no, my textures are on MEDIUM because I fly in VR 90% of the time.  Took that screenshot from a 2D screen.

I've bought FC2024. Even if not interested in the product itself (I already have FC3 and all the FF versions of the new FC2024 planes) I am a supporter of the small-payware-upgrades policy, and so I want to support such policy. But I have two small bugs: 1) new FC planes are correctly installed, but in the new launcher I have an icon for 6 new modules available in the files section; the list of available modules is empty since all is already installed, but a red dot icon with a 6 on it still persists; 2) even if FC2024 is already installed, in the module manager inside the game I have a notification for a product to install, and it is FC3. If I confirm, the game quits, the installation manager runs, then the game starts again but I still have the same module manager notification to install FC3. A repair does not correct these two bugs.

It's my number 2) bug. You can do the installation, but nothing will change.

So I had the F-86 before I bought the FC update but now my old F-86 has lost all of it's control mapping. Now THAT is irritating.

I have not flown any yet, so can't really comment on how interesting they are, but I did note that the F-5E FC has a 5-mission Campaign (Turkish Tiger) that is not present on the Full fidelity F-5.

Same with the F-86 FC, it has a 5-mission campaign (Sabre Rattle) not present on the FF F-86.

and same with the MiG-15, the FC version has a 5-mission campaign (Mig Alley).

 

The Instant action and single missions are mostly the same, while the training missions are much less than on the FF aircraft.

Don't worry about these notifications. Many users report the same. It's DCS fault but all works fine.

You can fly any aircraft on any map but the campaigns are created for specific aircraft (you can change that in the Mission Editor) and work only on the map they were created for.
