Maps aside, the only third parties I have are the mig-21 and the mb-339. On the latter I cannot say anything yet as it is still too new; on the former, however, although not officially abandoned, the situation is way worse than the F-15. As for the ED modules, at least as long as DCS exists, their developer will also exist, thus mainteinance and upgrades are always possible. As I see it, at this point, it is better not to buy third parties at all, or to do it at your own risk, knowing that they may have an expiration date. We all have expiration dates. And no third parties means, amongst other things, no Phantom. It's one of the coolest flightsim planes... ever. And the devs are first rate. Why neglect the flying fun? 2 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

It's not a philosophic choice: it happened I did not buy those. Better: it's philisophic about early access (I deliberately buy only completed products) but not about third parties. Nevertheless my experience with mig-21 (one of the best modules long ago and now abandonware) and the recent razbam facts have made me think about 3rd parties. That does not mean I will not ever buy a 3rd party, just 1st party is a safer choice. 1

There are small bugs that have popped up on a couple and the ED website is still advertising features on some of them that currently don't work in any form. Edited January 8 by StarLiner 1
Ignition Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Even if the modules still work it doesn't mean they are fine. For me the F-15E is unusable since it misses many features and I don't care it still works. I don't fly aircrafts with bugs and half developed if I know the module doesn't have any future. 9 months, we're close to the anniversary. I'm sure there will be a nice video like we are used to with nice music and footage commemorating this achievement. 2

Hyperbole much? There's a LONG way to go even if this dispute was finalised tomorrow, and a settlement was in place, Razbam devs, you know, the very ones who were part of the public lynch mob, who were part and parcel of slandering the entire ED team, and still are vocal, would need to be brought back for future development, I can't see the relationship between ED and those RB Devs ever going back to the way it was. Then RB would need to get their hands back on the SDK, and no matter what you think, ED isn't just going to let that happen without caveats and conditions in place, and then there's the development roadmap, this isn't going to be a magic wand and abracadabra everything will resume where it left off. This is a case of the immovable object against the irrestibale force.. Personally, I don't see anything positive on the horizon 12 months will come and go.. there's just no point in letting it wind you up. 4 AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD RTX 4070 8GB Windows 11 64 bit
