I know that ED has said it's coming, but do we have any updates on this? I can't wait to be able to fly from my home state to say the middle east, or to Russia, partake in missions, then fly back home.

Ya. I heard about it to integrate (link) all maps together.

I can image that we need a big SSD to store data... It is a gigantic development effort and like to see it happened soon....

Thanks for posting it.

No, the "Globe Project" is not about linking the other maps together. Actually, it's totally seperate from the other maps, as they are made by falt earthers, and can't be projected on a sphere. This new global map will probably use streamed storage like the civ sim, and not take too much space itself.

Wait... weren't all maps translated to a spherical projection since new Caucasus map arrived? The old Caucasus was indeed flat.

No, they're still flat, unfortunately. I really wished they had changed that with all the new maps.
