  2. If George is "safe"-ing the aircraft when he shouldn't be, check your controller and make sure your hat (assuming you are using a hat) isn't misfiring in multiple directions when it shouldn't be. (i.e. you are pressing "right" on the hat and it is also sending a "down" command.) Yes, the annoying loop telling you the "aircraft is armed" after you have hit the ground in a crash is a bug, but not something you are doing wrong. I find George most useful when engaging enemies from a hover, at a distance. Park behind a hill with a good line-of-sight to your enemy group at about 7km and go to work. If the aircraft is stable, and you aren't being rushed, he does a good job (too good?) at finding targets and taking them out. Now that you have the ability to queue up targets for him, and for him to adjust his track while maintaining his lase, you can wipe out multiple vehicles in one batch. You can take it to the next level and WAS missiles yourself in the back and keep a steady stream of missiles in the air to work through the queue very quickly. You can also use him successfully when rolling in on your target, taking the shot, then rolling out to circle back around for another run. Picking off one or two vehicles this way works well for me. When things tend to go bad with George for me is when I have gotten myself in way too close and am expecting him to engage a specific target (the one that is shooting at me) while I'm flying around like a madman trying to save my ass. Finding that specific target is a pain, then he takes his time to get his crosshairs on the target when you are moving, especially laterally to the target. I usually still use the "my LOS" method for directing George, but I do use the "scan" mode when I am flying toward a known enemy area so that he can spot them while we are still out of range and I can decide where to go to engage.
  3. The workaround I use is to start the mission with the aircraft in flight or on the runway if I care about the replay.
  4. It's a release weapons command
  5. hI @currenthill how do you get the sky sabre and related units to be in deployed configuration ? ie missiles ready to launch / Radar etc ready to deply.
  6. Well if you read the manual you can interpret item #26 as either WITH gear extended (partially) or not at all. I would assume that with item #26's placement in the manual where all the other items around it is regarding lamps and other stuff with gear extended or with gear extended but not locked, that item #26 would also be interpreted as the warning horn will sound If you have extended gear, that is not locked down AND throttle less then one quater open. As i perceive the FM of ED they interpret it as only throttle less than one quater open, no matter the gear.

  9. Hi folks, Is there a particular folder in DCS that contains all of our bindings? I want to backup the data. Thanks in advance. Wolf
  10. you can select those off of NAV mode. just not in AG without AG weapons. kinda backwards. but one would need public evidence to get it changed.
  11. I have to thanks you, my friend. I guess you know that - when testing ones own missions, one simply doesn't see the most obvious of things. Like in my case the mismatching number or wrong heading - I was simply anticipating the correct ones
  12. On my end, seems there is a difference between setting controls "in a mission" vs "in the main menu". In the main menu, my controls were saved/persisted correctly after a game restart - while it did not when i adjusted controls in a mission. Can anyone confirm if this makes a difference for them?
  13. Thanks!

  15. Hi, you need to be able to select a AG mode other than CCIP or Strafe for those radar modes, and not possible without appropriate ordnance. thank you
  16. I’m going to download it and see what I can come up with. I take it you have tried all the usual things?
  17. Thoughts on a Mig-29 Campaign set in the current Ukraine war focusing on Missions of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade? These missions are going to be based on original combat reports, and extensive research from Actual Ukranian sources. Don't think it's Possible, since the war Is still ongoing, but would love to hear your thoughts on this
  18. We aren't looking for him to hand-off new updated data to the missile, we want him to blip the laser (first detent?) to update the current ranging info to the target only. That way he knows when he has crossed over the magic 8km threshold and will then obey your suggestion to engage. As it stands right now, he is oblivious to the fact that you have moved in on the target, and are taking fire at close range, but all he remembers is that the last time he lased the target 2 minutes ago it was still over 8km.
  19. Also this short YT on how to enable it...
  20. While I would of course also like a little update now and then, I perfectly agree here. It's probably that whole radar overhaul that takes a long time and I'm perfectly sure that things are progressing nicely.
  21. Ok cool. I asked around on the ED discord and seemingly DCS tends to look afteritself pretty well. I'm going to try and change my order.... Thanks so much for the advice man!
  22. Hi, if you wish to report an issue we will need to see a short track replay example that reproduces the issue. thank you
