Is there any progress being made on resolving bugs? I'd love new features (especially DTC capability) but at the moment pretty much every system in the F-16C is bugged in some way which is really annoying and it feels like fixes are few and far between. I'd be really happy to see some progress on that front as well.8 points

Hello everyone! I like Soviet 3rd generation aircraft much more than "computer planes", so the MiG-23MLA impressed me, and I'm waiting for it. But what about the MiG-25? The legendary Soviet interceptor, which was used in 5 big conflicts (Afghanistan, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, the Persian Gulf), was on service in 16 countries. The fastest interceptor, which was designed to intercept strategic bombers, but was also used against conventional jet aircraft. There are 2 versions that I think should be in DCS: MiG-25PD (interceptor) and MiG-25RB (reconnaissance/supersonic bomber). Both options are really cool. I know about the maximum limit of 5G, but this aircraft is not a dogfighter like the Su-27 or even the MiG-21. But it's super fast (M=2.8 also find info about 3400km/h) and can intercept targets at high altitude (maybe even an F-14A flying at 40,000 feet). He doesn't have a lot of amos on his wings, but if you check the information about him on the wiki, you will be surprised by his abilities and invulnerability. Also, I can't tear myself away from not watching photos and videos with this Soviet monster. There are some documentation about it in web. Can be equipped with 4*R-60(R-60M) on 2 outer points+2*R-40/5 tons of bomb. Can track 6 targets at the same time. Also can be used to intercept standard trgts (B-52) on many servers. Please do Foxbat in DCS. It really deserves to be on the Cold War`s front line (and not only).4 points

You're not wrong. Well, either way, I'm just glad we have such a vibrant community of modders like CH, Nightstork, Admiral, and the guys who did the A-4 Skyhawk, UH-60, Super Hornet, and F-16I.4 points

I figured it out. The model I bought that were incorrect. The guy who made the three S-350 models (LN, STR and CP) had mixed up the screenshots. So I just ordered the CP and got the STR.4 points

It's one of the two. This is the 9M96E2. If I can find reference pictures I will also implement the short range 9M100. Thank you! Thanks! It's the Russian S-350 Vityaz MRAD. I will get to the Chinese SAMs shortly. Great suggestion!3 points

I could very well not have the ALE-50 for a while if we finally see some updates on stuff we already have. Like PRF tones on the RWR, the radar rework, connecting two aircraft with HTS to get to PGM1, datalink features, a working JSOW, JDAMs that hit a tank from 20000 ft... There are so many things that remain unfixed for quite some time. And I would really like to know if something is happening there.3 points

This is a slightly non-standard approach for this topic, I don’t know if this violates forum's and CH's ethics, but let’s arrange crowdfunding specifically for HQ-9 for now. For example, this month we will chip in 5-100 USD each, and the next one too. And in the middle of summer, Currenthill will be able to purchase this set. So if someone ready to make some donate for this asset please press "like" and we will see some statistics.3 points

Hi @Bestandskraft, good catch. Some sort of argument mixup problem happened at some point in the past months. We realised some weeks ago and it's fixed internally, so it will be available to you in the next OB.3 points

Dear RAZBAM team, make the topic f-15 module roadmap so that we can clearly understand what systems and types of weapons you will implement ... we are tired of learning everything from gossip... I would like to see If you did everything according to the standard as ED it would be the most logical. It has long been necessary to make mandatory standardization for all third-party developers so that there are no differences in informing and other issues. As an example, I show the f-16 roadmap3 points

Thanks! That's one of my super powers, haha. I use every available OSINT source. The issue is rather that there are so many different versions of specifications out there. I try to balance things by using sources from "both sides". If it's a Russian asset I gather information from both russian and western sources, the most likely truth is probably somewhere in between. It's easy to fall into the wunderwaffe trap and just creating unbeatable assets, but I spend a lot of time calibrating everything to make them more realistic. I mean, in real life we can be pretty sure that nothing works exactly as intended.3 points

I've got a small update to share. The first version of my public template is completed. I plan to make this new template, including all the previously listed changes and improvements, available during this coming weekend. Also planned for this week are updated liveries of all the default USAF squadron jets. Here is a preview of some Have Glass V liveries, with the Edwards tail as a placeholder. I'm going to use these textures as a base for all my HGV liveries.3 points

My suggestion is: George/Petrovich AI should become an API to be used by all ED and 3rd party helicopters like other parts of development kit. Huey, Mi-8, Gazelle, further Kiowa, Bolkov-105 and others. It already works really good for Mi-24 and AH-64. Unified co-pilot AI = need to remember only one logic to operate all helicopters (with small modifications to accomodate needs of specific type like differences between Petrovich and George). Win - win for all ED, 3rd parties and players. Contrary - every developer forced to use their own different AI logic, and make it from scratch, different for every developer and every helicopter (and player forced to remember all the different logics co-pilot AI) would be just a bad choice. Significanly increasing all helicopters development time, making players uncomfortable to operate different helicopters and DCS feeling less unified, loose cluster of modules. cheers2 points

According to p. 53 of the Aerges flight manual and confirmed by the various RL Mirage F1 flight manuals available, the "Autopilot disconnect trigger" (default keybind A) is located on the back side of the control stick and looks a bit like a hand grip with an undulating profile. Conversely, the "Autopilot disengage lever" (default keybind P) is located below the trigger and is essentially a black and blue button with a cap on top. However, when pressing the "A" button, it is the "Autopilot disengage lever" that actually moves in the cockpit (and the autopilot is just temporarily disconnected although the lever should completely disengage it), whereas when pressing the "P" button, the "Autopilot disconnect trigger" moves (and the autopilot is completely disengaged instead of just being temporarily disconnected). The functions of the disconnect trigger and disengage lever are therefore currently switched with reference to both the Aerges and RL documentation. This affects both the CE and the EE.2 points

Hey CH, I think it would be really cool to see the MEADS system this Wikipedia article explains it quite well (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium_Extended_Air_Defense_System). It is medium ranged system that fires vertical launched PAC-3 MSE and IRIS-T SLM. It was developed by the US, Germany, and Italy, though only Germany is purchasing it. One of the things I like about it its that it shares some 3d assets with other NATO SAM systems making it easier to model those in the future. I am unsure if you can find good 3d assets but if you can I would to see it. - Gundamator2 points

Hello, Imagine if you were starting up your plane and suddenly you hear the airfield Alarm, that mean that an enemy plane is close or the airfield is under attack! Also on carriers we should hear some chatter from the speakers/crew. My point is DCS must get more "alive". Some simple sound effects like that, can give a better immersion. Thank you for reading.2 points

Why is that function not appropriate? It's exactly the way it should be. You could add the commands for ARM and OFF to the file "Throttle - HOTAS Warthog.lua" and use Button 24 and Button 24 OFF. It would then do exactly the same thing as the existing command "EAC 2-pos Switch : ARM<>OFF". Seems pointless.2 points

Soviet MiG-25PD used the infrared sensor "Систе́ма контроля положе́ния непри́ятеля" in the nose of the aircraft, being part of a "Бортовой комплекс радиотехнической и инфракрасной разведки и наведения" - Onboard Complex of Radio-Technical and Infrared Reconnaissance and Targeting". Some export MiG-25PD were deprived of this system. I don't have a detailed information of the system parameters, though, it's possoble the system is still partially classified. The system was far less exposed compared to the MiG-29 and the Su-27 IRST, not to compromise aerodynamics of supersonic cruise of the MiG-25. As the MiG-29 and the Su-27 were meant to fly supersonic only occasionally.2 points

The command "EAC 2-pos Switch : ARM<>OFF" is available for the Warthog throttle, and when you double-click that binding field I'm sure the assignment window will open. Cany ou confirm? The command is not available for the keyboard for a good reason: It's a command that works only with a maintained ON/OFF switch, just like the EAC on the Warthog throttle. Keyboards and the Warthog joystick don't have such switches. For the same reason it's not available with the CH-Pro pedals. The commands "EAC Arm" and "EAC Off" are not available for the Warthog throttle because that device has the maintained ON/OFF switch for the EAC function. Which command is available for which device is controlled by the files like "default.lua", "Throttle - HOTAS Warthog.lua", "Joystick - HOTAS Warthog.lua". The Warthog throttle and joystick are defined by their dedicated "....LUA" files. Game controllers that don't have a dedicated .LUA file can use all commands defined in the "default-lua" under "...\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\A-10C_2\Input\A-10C_2\joystick". The keyboard can only use the commands defined in the "defaultlua" under "...\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\A-10C_2\Input\A-10C_2\keyboard".2 points

Sull'NS430, bella domanda...2 points

When beyond 2.5km, if you move your TADS cursor manually even when the crosshairs are just pointed at the ground (no target, let alone IAT or LMC), it transitions from LOAL to LOBL after lasing for target data is completed. Not sure how it is IRL though.2 points

My headset turned up today nothing to say as it's all been said before except: From a G2 it's like some one come in my house over night and upgraded my PC for free and while they were there performed an operation to remove tunnel vision I didn't realize I had. So pleased.2 points

The pitch-up itself isn't that big of a deal, but the nose suddenly falling at the end of the pitch-up moment is unsettling. And looks unrealistic when comparing external footage to real Tomcat shots.2 points

You can kinda try to make them do this but it dosen't really work. As we've seen from the real world pop up attacks are extremely useful when attacking targets in vary well defended airspace. It would be awesome to have the ability to set pop up attack in the ground attack mission options.2 points

have a crack at this download by @=617= Evil. there are various missions, AG, AA, Nav, flying, etc, from easy to hard. there is one where you can chase 4 SU-25s around that do not fight back. you can open in mission editor and change the planes you are chasing. make sure you save as so not to destroy the original mission. then move on to a 2v1 with varying plane types and skill level. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328191/ a lot of time was put into this bundle and i commend the author.2 points

External aircraft lighting is still terrible. On all aircraft except Hornet ext lights are not visible after only a few hundred (!!!) feet, while Hornet's lights - while having better visibility distance - don't look realistic (but rather... ugly... depending on the distance). In fair weather lights should be visible for at least 25 miles. Strobes should be seen way further even. Also Nav lights should be somewhat distinguishable (red/green) at "reasonable" distances. If you use the search function, there are a ton of similar requests going back to the beginning of time and light itself. Please ED, finally tackle this longstanding shortcoming. It's not rocket science! Ps: Please also add AI option for ext. light usage in ME! Thanks, you are great!2 points

The following development module note contains a brief report on the progress in the field of damage modeling for the La-7 virtual aircraft. It should be noted that there is a conventional wisdom that the La-7, unlike its wooden predecessor, the La-5FN, had an all-metal construction. This is a misconception. The next series aircraft, the La-9, was the one that had a metal exterior, while the seventh 'Lavochka' planes were still made of wood, with the exception of the metal elements in the internal power set. The distinctive nature of the destruction to the wooden structure is reflected in our module's damage model. The aircraft has a curious detail: actions were taken to counter the explosion caused by a projectile hitting the fuel tanks. The internal volumes of the tanks were filled with engine exhaust gases, eliminating the risk of vapor ignition from gasoline. Before the combat sortie, the system was activated using the gas filling valve handle. In addition to detailed visual damage modeling, the module, as is customary for each DCS module, will include a wide range of failures and operational limitations.2 points

The Gazelle update looks like it will upgrade the module greatly. This is actually more appealing to me than the KW. Lets see how this works when released - credit card is at the ready2 points

I've seen a stream on Twitch with great Gazelle update: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1826316181 Gazelle updates looks awesome, especially FM, plese don't delete Cold War configuration and make features like modern GPS tablet optional/configurable to make it possible to have also original configuration. For many guys flying Gazelle in Cold War scenarios and servers is important. I've heard Kiowa is to have 1980s, ~2005 and 2017 three variants. Thanks for your work and updating Gazelle FM even before Kiowa release, You are awesome! cheers2 points
