  1. PzH 2000 SPG 1.0.0 released! Changelog Version 1.0.0 Release version Known issues Firing M982 Excalibur doesn't produce a muzzle flash due to DCS limitations Usage In Mission Editor use Fire at point and use Unguided for M1711 and Guided for M982. The trajectory for the M982 isn't perfect, I had to workaround DCS limitations as usual.

  3. The first version of foveated rendering for Quest Pro will release very soon. It will be a separate tool, incompatible with OpenXR Toolkit. However it includes its own CAS sharpening and Turbo mode, two of the most appreciated features of OpenXR Toolkit. Compatibility with OpenXR Toolkit may happen later. Also to be very clear on the expectations: it will NOT work with Virtual Desktop. This is out of my control: Virtual Desktop uses SteamVR, and the SteamVR OpenXR support doesn't let you do eye tracking. It will require the use of Air Link or Link Cable.

  7. Hello DCS Community The new release v0.3.0 of Digital Crew Chief (DCC) is now available. Download User Manual Discord Invite Youtube What is Digital Crew Chief (DCC)? DCC is an app which (will) provides a set of tools to make the life of a digital pilot easier. Our goal with DCC is no frills, just fly! For the start only the dynamic campaign is available with more to come. What is the DCC – Dynamic Campaign? The Dynamic Campaign creates DCS Mission within a persistent scenario, similar to Falcon BMS and DCS Liberation. Nearly all planes & helicopters (except WW2) are now flyable. How does the Campaign work? The campaign is defined by two definitions, Scenario and faction. There are presets for faction but also custom factions can be created and used. Once the campaign is started each site/faction tries to achieve the defined win condition automatically. The player can always choose to occupy one (or more) of the planned or active flight group/mission and play the mission out in DCS. After flying the mission in DCS the results are processed back into the campaign. Hardcore Mode? You can choose at campaign start to activate the hardcore mode. Hardcore means if you (or a client in multiplayer) dies in a mission the campaign fails. DCC and Dynamic Campaign are still in early development and limited in scope at the moment. We will provide new scenarios and features in the near future.

  8. Hello everyone, recently we have been able to reproduce the nose wheel issue so we have worked to fix this annoying problem. With this message I would like to ask you to test our work before to include in the next release of the game and to report back the results of your individual test on this post on our discord. Before to install the new files, remember to make a backup of the old ones. In the.rar attached to this message you will find three different files: Config.lua MB-339A.lua MB-339APAN.lua Go to: <YOUR_DCS_ROOT_FOLDER>\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\Aircraft\MB-339\FM Replace the Config.lua file Then go to: <YOUR_DCS_ROOT_FOLDER>\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\MB-339 Replace the MB-339A.lua and MB-339APAN.lua files. Thank you for your time and your patience. Nosewheel_Fix_RC1.rar

  11. That prevents flameout. Lower it to the lockout, and wait for your speed to drop. You can disable lockout, but then your engine is likely to flame out unless you know what you're doing. Lockout is at around 1.20 mach.

Not all references have pilot names because I simply cannot read them. I was thinking for the ones I do not have them I could add your names to the A/C? And even an aircraft name such as "Jaunty Jan" see on MODEX 402 BuNo 2031 flown by CDR Richard D. Lazenby, CO, VA-94. I need to find out who the CAG and DCAG were for Modex 400 & 401. These will all have custom hard numbers painted on the birds. Anyhow, I have the following available for community pilots. Your real names must be used for immersion reasons. I will put the rank on for you, cant be too top heavy. Let me know what your aircraft nickname is (goes on the dorsal hump). Please ensure it is something that would appear in the Vietnam era like "Red Rider", "Suzie Q", "Boom Boom Betty" ect: 403 410 414 415

  13. Real pilot, flight sim enthusiast for 30 years, beta tester for some of them, real pilot, 3,000hrs fly often in the backcountry, and off airport, also a warbird in which I do aerobatics and dogfight simulations. DCS WWII planes are amazing, they feel realistic, the landings , the take offs, stalls, the feel of flight is there, wake turbulence is spot ON, damage model is very detailed , quite impressive really, some stuff might need a bit of tuning, but overall great. All of this amazing effort goes down the drain when playing in MP and the plane in front of you starts to jink up and down positive Gs , Negatives Gs and lots of impossible aerobatics like a super human, because he even does not get tired, and can perform this stunts forever, once this happens DCS WWII feels and looks very arcade, have you ever seen this kind of maneuvers in WWII gun cam footage? Not even close. If developers can fix this , DCS WWII would become an amazing simulator, the other sim got it quite good (only thing that it beats DCS IMHO). Its my only real complain, but it really ruins immersion, the rest of the sim its really amazing.

In addition, you can hit objects in Israel from Syria with powerful HE warhead. And in the Pacific too. Unfortunately, Musudan is a great target for air attacks and for modern missile defense. https://www.mediafire.com/file/88ncs9qolouz1kd/Musudan_SSM_1.0.rar/file

  17. Do not use the autohover functions, they are buggy and are in process of being redone. Autopilot lights will be yellow (top) when out of conditions, green (bottom) when in condition and active. Jerky torque effect is caused by you moving the collective too rapidly and surging the engine. Maintain smooth collective movements. Remember that pedal input also affects torque, and collective input affects yaw.

  22. This is the exact reason why it should be done for DCS World. I for one love DCS modules because each of them not only shows its values and advantages in historical development over other aircraft but teaches us its shortcomings, too, and help understand and experience the need for further development that led to advanced aircraft. I'm not too concerned about multiplayer balancing. This is done by mission creators. Real aircraft developers never cared for balance but for superiority. DCS is much more than PvP for me.

  23. I disagree that the over G damage is cumulative in DCS, I’ve seen no evidence that it is without some kind of other external battle damage. I would love to see what a real F15 would look like after a typical DCS dogfight. It would probably make it back home, but it certainly wouldn’t fly right. I’m no proponent of an unrealistic wing break mechanic either. Other things break first - panels pop and increase or create asymmetric drag, engine mounts break, non-solid state avionics, radars, control surfaces, etc. More severely the rigging and trim is going to be thrown out by even very minor bending or twisting, which will make it fly crooked and play hell with the FLCS (if equipped). The only module that models this level of granular detail is the Tomcat (and still fairly rudimentary) Its not just about breaking the wings, it’s the other loss of capability that’s going to factor into the fight. People love to boast about how realistic DCS is, until it becomes inconvenient to their play style, at which time they simply try to justify it away. Anyway I’ve said my piece and I don’t want to drag this off topic any longer. But on topic, perhaps one of the reasons the 16 struggles is it’s the only module that doesn’t have some kind of unrealistic exploit that can be leveraged. No paddle, FLCS breakers, flaps or ability to Over G. Might be why I prefer it, despite everything - it feels like the purest, cleanest flight model. If you get beat in a viper v viper fight, you know it’s because the other guy was better than you, not because he gamified the edge cases of the flight model.

  25. I really liked the idea of limiting posts on this Unofficial Thread, where we can see latest news, I really loved it since we were being spammed with everyone posting whatnot in the thread. Thanks for saving us from those posts. But now days I click on the thread since it has new posts and those are not news, nothing new is shown there only YouTube creators videos. I mean latest post is from a YouTuber teaching how to drop laser guided bombs using unreleased module... why is that even a thing? I don't see news there, they are only spamming news thread with stuff we already know, news WAS that F-15E is in pre-purchase, news WAS that it will use certain amount of weapon types, we already knew that months ago. So I don't see anything new here. Please moderate this thread so it provides news only.

  28. I agree (+100000) though i think that it would require to develop the older scope (at least for the pre C-200 version) and modify accordingly the radar. Only Aerges know if that would be a no go - build from scratch - effort or basically a more ''removing'' some functionality from the existing code ( like TEL, BZ radar modes, MTI filter, include rapid gun instead of SW / gun selection etc) and add some secondary only things work (+ the respective 3D part), that would be way more easy to be developed. And i could also add in the wishlist the CG variant that has some interesting features (like 4 SW, ALR-66 rwr, altitude alert system).

  30. Nice! I remember seeing it as being a mod, but wasn't aware that this might turn into a full-fledged module! In that case, I suppose two different models of roughly the same aircraft are currently in production! For clarity: - OctopusG would appear to be making an earlier variant of a Su-17/-22 based on the cockpit images. - AviaStorm (if it takes on the project), seems to be making pretty much the last complete interation of a Su-17M4 (Su-22M4 for export). It would be most modern one. Good stuff!

  31. He has mentioned that making DCS videos was his "job". Whatever that really means. But making videos like the one below must have taken some time. Some people have said GR videos are superficial, and some are. But they also make great in-depth tutorials. Who else is doing 45-minute tutorials on just one aspect of the systems? Cap definitely deserves acknowledgment as a serious DCS content creator. I think he's one of the best.

  32. I dont know what you guys want to prove here. Watch the videos about folds of honor where there was G limits introduced and monitored. It was done for the fly by wire aircraft too. Because you can catch the G limiter off guard. More in the F18 than the F16. As the F18 relies more on instantaneous turning. It is not unrealistic or gamified. In the F16 you can even trick the G limiter by simply doing a loaded barrel roll. Which is realistic, because the F16 FLCS is only good at monitoring on axis the same time. But in all cases the G limiter ( both F16 and F18) catches back on and does its job as intended. And that kind of over G ing in the F16 is treated as every other aircraft over G ing with an extra in depth inspection and being grounded in first place. Of course there might be still a lot of FLCS behavior wrong in the F16 but in that special case i believe not.

NASA.pdf

  35. I agree with the consensus that rudder control above 25 units is lacking. Like Spurts said, you need to cross control it with stick in the opposite direction of the desired roll to get the plane to turn. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not, but it contradicts mission 01 of Speed and Angels which instructs you to max the AOA and "use rudder only for turns". (It's not possible in the current OB to roll the jet this way without some cross control). I believe Paco, a real life SME, advised on the campaign, so that makes me wonder if rudder control should be adjusted.

  39. No this isn't true of any high performance fighter since WWII. At top speeds the airframes produce so much lift that parasite drag is much more of a factor at military power than induced drag is from gross weight. F16 at 15,000 ft stores gross weight knots at MIL 500 lbs of fuel clean 20,693 533 7163 clean 27,355 531 500 7,507 27,906 481 500 8,512 28,911 478 F18 at 15,000 ft stores gross weight knots at MIL 432 lbs of fuel clean 25,986 539 10,479 clean 36,032 536 432 6526 32,051 479 432 10,512 36,037 474 (For the Hornet the stores are 8*mk82 and 8*mk83, the difference in speed is but 5 knots yet the difference in weight is 4000lbs. So at MIL 4000lbs is nothing. But those pylons a human could play football with are what slows fighter jets down... at MIL.) Comparing the Viper and Hornet at military power isn't fair because the Viper's airframe produces much less lift and therefore has much less parasite drag than the Hornet. But as you can see at military power neither aircraft is much affected by gross weight. So comparing the airframes at corner speed rather than MIL would be much more apt. The parasite drag would have less of an effect on speed and the induced drag from the added weight would get pretty nasty I bet. Then you could really compare the airframes

  44. I believe Floyd1212 was being sarcastic in stating to read that thread, for the very reason it was chock full of a lot of misinformation, ranging from slightly inaccurate to downright outlandish. I've unpinned that thread to prevent any confusion in the future, since Bradmick's video tutorial thread is a lot more useful, accurate, and is from someone that has thousands of hours flying and instructing the real AH-64D. @bradmick and myself flew the real AH-64D for many years, so if we are refuting another's claims about the AH-64, it comes from a place of real-world knowledge and experience. There have been a number of self-proclaimed "experts" on these forums that have made some pretty interesting statements in the past about the AH-64 (and helicopters in general), and so if you see Brad or myself refuting them, that is the reason why and the source behind our responses.

  46. FWIW, myself and our pilot SME use the VKB F-14 stick with at least a 10cm extension. A lot of the problems people are having here are likely hardware related. Also I can't reiterate enough how much better FFB sticks are for getting a feel for the jet and the trim. It's unfortunate that most current consumer offerings aren't great or are really expensive. Keep in mind that a trim state only exists at a particular flight condition, if you move away from that flight condition (change in speed, altitude, power, etc) the trim state will change. The F-14 itself also has a TON of movable surfaces including the WINGS themselves, which essentially makes it a different airplane at every degree of sweep. The F-14 is a fighter, it was not designed to be as stable as a Cessna 172 or an airliner.
