I have started multiple projects based on requests in this thread, but most haven't held my interest long enough to progress very far. However, this one *might* make a release. I make no promises - it is a lot of time & effort to make one of these mods and I admit my motivation is dwindling. Most of the subject matter that I focus on is very esoteric. This means that I struggle to justify the amount of work to publicly release a mod for a few community downloads. So, that said, let me know if there is continued interest in the Global Hawk / Triton and if there are any specific liveries desired.11 points

I noticed that stock cruiser Piotr Veliky has useless antiship P-700 missiles. They start with large period, have bad texture, predictable trajectory and can't attack coastal targets. Moreover, ED made the code of this weapon encrypted, so it cannot be modified and should be made from scratch. Enemies easily shoot down P-700 missiles one by one. Therefore, Piotr Veliky is a floating air defense, useless for other tasks. But P-700 Granit missiles were developed as dangerous salvo launching smart weapon. Archive contains ship itself with implemented new weapon. Now available antiship salvo strikes, unit is able to fight against superior enemy forces. Half of the missiles will perform evasive maneuver to spread hostile turrets by elevation. See demo mission. The ability to penetrate modern air defense (modernized Burke and Tico) is obviously low. Ship is non DCS stock: you will see nice Kirov_Class by WWII ADC inside. Added roughs and gloss for a more modern look of the model. ORLAN_fight.miz 1144 Orlan Cruiser P-700 mod v 0.9.rar7 points

Function to Separate targets used to work for a bit few months ago, although it was very clumsy, but now it does almost nothing, in many cases it does even worse - check the track attached. I cannot find any RL video, but in my opinion, it should separate all the targets around in circle, except highest threat, which stays at the same exact same place. f16_rwr_Target Separation.trk5 points

Advanced inverse kinematics/pilot body animations, tail buffeting, wing fatigue damage, elements of radar modeling, it's just a few things i've noticed - all of that sets the highest standard. Good job. If RAZBAM would make a Cold War fighter variant F-15A or C as well in the future I would hardly ever leave my basement. Overall RAZBAM progress over the last few years is fantastic. It's a top notch developer.5 points

Hey Guys! Thanks for the Feedback. Send me a PM Hawaiian and I will see if I can find the ghost lights. I AM SIQ!!! "Sick In Quarters" as we use to say. Not sure when I will be back. I think this is a reminder that your body can only take so much before it gives in. Mine gave in hard.4 points

No it's not. DCS Beta is basically the "up 2 date" version of DCS and the majority of the community exclusively use the beta branch to play, because there are basically no downsides to use that branch. I can't remember ever using the stable of DCS and never had any game breaking bugs or other problems in the Beta. So my advice would be to just hop over to the Beta and enjoy all the new content early.4 points

This wish really shouldn't be necessary ED. C'mon @BIGNEWY and/or @NineLine, could either of you please make this happen a.s.a.p? (For the Mirage F1 this really took much too long) Updating the user file section should be a standard part of releasing a new module. Isn't there something like a "New release" checklist? (shouldn't be too much work to add an extra user file category, I reckon).4 points

Hi all, not had time to work on the UFC, Radios etc for the more advanced stuff but I was able to re-format the BIOs data so this version 0.2 now includes the indicator lights and the raw gauges. F-15ESE.lua4 points

Hello friends. I have very long DCS startup times with the newest 2.8.6.41393 OpenBeta Update. I can perfectly replicate the issue by rolling back and forth between the last two updates - I measured the time from clicking the shortcut until the main-menu is fully loaded after second launch (DCS MT, VR and no-VR have the same loading times) - shaders folders were already re-established: DCS 2.8.6.41066 Open Beta MT: 35 seconds average (the auth-verification takes alone around 10 seconds) DCS 2.8.6.41363 Open Beta MT: 120 seconds on average (the auth-verification takes alone around 40 seconds) I already did slow repair with extra file inspection and deleted the SavedGames/DCS folder after switching between updates. Issue persists. Something is clearly off with the newest 2.8.6.41393 OpenBeta. Anyone else?3 points

Cowboy you are an invaluable modeller that builds high quality mods with superb liveries - that add so much immersion to DCS, for us mere users. We really appreciate you sharing these with us - for free! If you ever doubt the popularity of your mods, below is a list of some of your most popular mods with download counts: P-8 Poseidon (AI only) Downloaded: 3563 E-7a Wedgetail (AI only) Downloaded: 3546 Cowboy's (NOT a) SeaHawk UH-60a Mod (AI only) Downloaded: 3395 UH-60a Livery Pack (Multiple Country H-60 variants) Downloaded: 2793 "We love you man!"...and that's by popular vote on downloads. The quality of your work is a testament to, not only your ability, but the time & effort you put in. Requests are just suggestions, by members that appreciate your skills - but you should focus on mods that inspire & motivate you - if that fits in with requests then win/win. We appreciate everything you do - as we can see the skill & passion you put in, and that inspires us. Even / and especially the more obscure (esoteric) units. Your O-2A Skymaster mod has got me so inspired to create an "Apocalypse Now" mission - just waiting for Vietnam map & Napalm ordinance effects. I add your iconic SeaHawk UH-60a Mod to nearly every modern mission I create, because of the superb eye candy, but also the amazing collection of beautiful liveries. With your skills & ability, just remember "If you build it - they shall come" Thanks for everything you have created & are going to create - you are a very talented modeller - keep the faith3 points

Still working but saw my idiot mistake on the right hand UFC so fixed it. I can't test as cannot actually run DCS at work (big boss would not like it) but will be online later on where I will attempt to look at the WSO UFC and any crashes to the export that can occur. Thanks all! F-15ESE.lua3 points

hi, you can update between stable and open beta easily using the command prompt or use Skatezillas updater utility. it's easy and takes only a few mins, it keeps common files and only updates what is needed, to keep only one install.3 points

OK, update to draft v0.3 which includes a simple (rough and working but not fully tested in full use) version of displaying the UFC variables. F-15ESE.lua3 points

QFE is mostly for circuit work or visual rejoins, and as razor correctly states, will read zero on the ground, and your height above the airfield when in the air. As a result it is only really of any value in the immediate vicinity of the airfield. The jets modelled in DCS mostly have a RADAR altimeter, which will only read height (not altitude), and therefore is the primary reference for low-level flight. QNH will read your altitude above MSL. Each airfield will have an elevation value from a datum point (which may or may not be where you are parked). With QNH set your altimeter should read the same as the airfield elevation. QNH is usually the same as the Regional Pressure Setting, and will give you an accurate altitude over a greater area of land. On a low level cross-country flight you will receive several RPS en-route and will adjust your altimeter accordingly (if you didn't adjust and were flying towards an area of low pressure, then your altimeter would begin to overread, i.e. you would be lower than you think - which could lead to CFIT). For high level flying, once you cross the transition altitude (varies by country, USA 18000 ft, UK much lower at around 3000ft - we don't have any high mountains) you will set 1013mb. This will ensure all aircraft are at the correct Flight Level. At these heights it is more important to harmonise traffic than to know your exact altitude above MSL. With everyone working with the same std pressure setting, then deconfliction is made easier. FL is reported in 100s of feet, so FL300 is 30,000ft. The issue with some of the Sinai map, is that some of it is below MSL, which makes accurate altimeter setting difficult (or impossible). However, as stated, use your RADALT for low down work, and a standard pressure setting for high level and you'll be fine.3 points

I don't mind if there's no Maverick for the Strike Eagle. This thing is all about serious door to door service. Big bombs delivered day and night, all weather, cross country. Mavericks seem a bit too small and close range for the F-15E. Long range... pinpoint... "KABOOM!"3 points

MSIP II is a great compromise. Entered service in 1986, was the Eagle of the gulf war and Kosovo. Appropriate sparrow and amraam shooter. Very well documented radar. It’s also arguably what the FC3 Eagle actually represents regardless of what the manual says, and fits the original LOMAC setting. That said I’m not sure sure APG-63 PSP, APG-70, APG-63(v)1 should be all that different. I don’t know if any eagles with mech scan radar got HMD or the works. If they did it must have been pretty close to the end right before a lot of them got AESA.2 points

I've been using beta since day one. Can't see why I wouldn't. I want my toys. The only advantage I can see to stable is maybe some kind of MP thing.2 points

i agree, ingame it seems the same as before(maybe even faster) as you say, im just refering to the initial startup of dcs2 points

Unlikely. As you noted yourself, squashing bugs can take time so you'll have the usual lag of at least a few weeks before the stable channel is updated.2 points

If you try to fiddle around with VR settings and need to restart DCS each time you would think a little different, I assure you. Clearly I have better things to do than sitting and waiting for a loading screen. When you only start DCS one time the evening I would not have a problem with that for sure (despite the fact it still is an increase of more than 300 %).2 points

Hi Yoyo, First, I hope all is well. Explaining a few things with relation to the view point and the Option in the Special Options Menu. null The green cross hair is 0,0,0 in the model and the virtual eye point of where the view originally positioned. The red line from the green 0,0,0 eye point is exactly 8cm to the Eye. Original 0,0,0 eye point is set there for people who do not have Track IR or VR setups to allow them to see the inside MPD buttons covered by the UFC's sides due to the perspective. It simulates as if the person has their head resting against the back of the ejection seat. If a person who wants to setup their VR to the exact spot in the model we have it set to default at 8cm and go to 10cm as personal preference. For the "Monitor Eyepoint Offset this defaults for none Track IR users are able to move to the desired position or to the correct 3D Model eyepoint of 8cm as well. Take care, Tim2 points

This is, for me, one of the biggest downsides of "module purchasing" model. If it were subscription model, they are "obligated" to produce regular updates, fix bugs, etc. With the module purchasing model, it's more lucrative to simply focus on new things and capture the money of those that haven't yet spend theirs on the products. Therefore, you can end up with Warbirds that have bugs going back YEARS, that no one addresses, because: hey, they already bought the module. They can use it, or park it in the hangar, we already got paid for that module, moving on. Obviously, with smaller teams and roadmaps, they have to prioritize something and focus on something, they cannot work and fix everything. But the level of neglect on the WWII area is really, in my opinion, beyond acceptable ranges.2 points
