Hello dear pilots! Our team is working hard on a new project, but since all restrictions have already been lifted, we have in development: RamatDavidAirbase TabukAirport MezzehAirport DamascusInternationalAirport RaficHaririInternationalAirport We are also discussing and making a scenario for the Israeli-Arab war campaign. It will be free (we haven't done it yet, and we will discuss it with the ED team) PS: We are also making all military bases of Egypt and Israel (including the Golan Heights), we plan to mark them on the map in ME17 points

Seesm restrictions have been lifted from the overlapping areas of Sinaï and Syria. I assume this means more fun for us, and duplicate areas/bases etc.8 points

Obviously these things aren't 'a big deal' if you don't own these modules but to those that do own them they are as important as everything else my friend, trust me! The Mosquito cost the same as your F16 or F18 and, as such, it's owners are entitled to just as much care and attention as anyone else. Their money is exactly the same.4 points

This is still a wonderful plane. I made a mission similar with the one in the movie above just yesterday and it was awesome! Updates would be appreciated!3 points

They are similar, just coverage amount increases incrementally. Correct. There are no changes to the cloud rendering so there is no difference in performance to default clouds. Heavy clouds with precipitation (with my mod, or default) does take a performance hit however. This is most noticeable in VR where flying through rain shafts can really tank performance.3 points

Check that you have not enabled the historic filter, no user mod is compatible with that ME feature.3 points

Just be careful doing this lua trick for the canopy if you're going to use that skin for air starts. Otherwise this happens:2 points

nullFirst off, incredible map you guys have done an incredible job with the scenery. I love the attention to detail, everything is where it should be, SAM sites, Helipads etc. I appreciate that you guys improved the scenes around the helipads as I love operating out of them instead of the main airbases it gives maps a lot of flavor as we get tired of seeing the same airbases again and again it adds a lot of flexibility. But guys these weird circular helipads have to go, I attached some screenshots of the heliports in game with their real life counterparts from google earth, I can't find these little circular guys anywhere, all the real spots just have a big slab of pavement with H's painted on the ground. Is there any chance we will see more realistic pads in the future? null2 points

If you do not want to keep the backed up files those folders can be deleted safely.2 points

These contain files that are non standard to the DCS install. In other words they are mods or changes that have been made to the core files of a standard install - the update locates these files and replaces them with the original file then it backs them up in case you want to review them, they can be safely deleted but the next install will create more backup files if you change any of the original core files. Obviously this does not apply to any changes made in the SAVED GAMES folder.2 points

I dont think those are pics from a camera. I'm pretty sure those are screenshots from in game.2 points

Wouldn't it make sense to have a couple of sliders on the options page when you go there from the SIM that let you set a min & max cockpit view angle (there's already what appears to be a currently redundant 'current view' slider that could be used to pick the angles directly from in-SIM), then write those to the options.lua? Like: ["Mi-24P"] = { ["Aiming_mark"] = false, ["CPLocalList"] = "english", ["Mi24AIColorScheme"] = 1, ["Mi24AIHideBoxes"] = true, ["Mi24AIVoiceLanguage"] = 2, ["Mi24AutoHandover"] = true, ["Mi24CockpitShake"] = 50, ["Mi24PedalsAutoMove"] = true, ["Mi24PedalsInputSensitivity"] = 24, ["Mi24PedalsMicroswitchLogic"] = 2, ["Mi24PedalsTrimButton"] = 0, ["Mi24PedalsTrimMode"] = 0, ["Mi24StickTrimMethod"] = 0, ["SPOVolume"] = 79, ["Mi24CameraViewAngleMax"] = 75, ["Mi24CameraViewAngleMin"] = 20, ["collectiveBrake"] = 0, ["collectiveDisengage"] = 4, ["controlHelperMi24"] = false, ["weapTooltipsMi24"] = false, }, If you wanted to get super precise you could have discrete slot1 & slot2 (etc) values, or just have 1 set for each aircraft (bounded by a universal max & min ED set at the current defaults)2 points

Thanks. The two escort groups being dead, in the test runs, we never had problems with this, none of the testers reported it. I'm assuming that one got away somehow, and the subsequent flags didn't fire. I'll try to put in a failsafe that's plausible enough.2 points

I haven't used the memcleaner, but changing the 50000/10000 parameters to 0/0 plus changing the preload radius from 50000 to 10000 seems to have done the trick. Thanks very much. I've just spent probably 15 minutes flying the Apache first, then the Phantom in SP regularly swapping between map view and cockpit view with no FPS reduction issues.2 points

Edit!!!! I did it!!!!!!!!! Haha! So the two files that need to be edited for 32:9 and 21:9 users to get both the Command Interface and the Server/Game Messages centered in the screen are: gameMessages.lua - for game/server messages, edit Line 54, use some math to figure out the 16:9 area of your 32:9 screen, divide the X axis by 1/2, then set that number close to that value, so in my case 5120x1440 = 5120 / 2 = 2560 for a 16:9 screen, then 2560 / 2 = 1280 for 1/2 that, so my Line 54 reads: "local offsetLeft = 1300" (exclude the quotes) The second file, as mentioned above, is: CommandDialogsPanel.lua Line 182: do the same formula as above, and on mine now reads: "window:setBounds(screenWidth - menuWidth - 1300, 0, menuWidth, height)" (exclude quotes again) Formatting is important! Both of these files are located in the X:/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Scripts/UI with the second, CommandDialogsPanel.lua, being X:/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Scripts/UI/RadioCommandDialogPanel X: being an arbitrary value for whatever hard drive or mount point of your drive. These files have to be updated after every patch. Back them up after editing and either make a batch file to replace or do so yourself, manually. Thanks to MadKreator for pointing me in the right direction. Thank you Sir.2 points

Sadly this is most likely what would happen (or how it would end up being seen). I understand everyone's frustration and wanting things to be better. I can assure you the team is working hard on everything. I am sure Nick or anyone on the team can try and answer all the questions everyone has, but at the end of the day nothing but results matters and we are all working hard for those. The F/A-18C and, more specifically, the F-16 have been a little unstable as we do more deep work on the radar and other such systems. This can impact the stability of the module in release. We need to do a better job of catching these things, for sure. But again, I can say and give all the reasons why for everything listed here, and again it doesn't matter until everyone sees results. I will run this by Nick, maybe even a text-based Q&A, but not sure there are any answers beyond what we have and continue to share already. Thanks all.2 points

Guys, this is a bug introduced during Syria map update. We asked the map producers to fix this but just in case also found a workaround which - if fix is not provided by them - we will include in the campaign patch cycle, that should be less than 2 weeks away. Apologies for this, but it is completely out of my hands and forces me to spend time fixing issues caused by other people instead of focusing on new content. Rest assured this will be fixed though.2 points

maybe you could explain what the relevance is of "code based libraries based on the embargoed IP from the patents that just expired" to the issue that Walmis brought up? Walmis is not asserting a patent was infringed on, he's stating he owns the copyright to the source code and has chosen to release that source code under GPL (not making it "proprietary", that was your word not his). GPL requires that the source code for all derivative works must also be released into the public domain. Walmis asserts that there is evidence that the source code was copied , and that the derivative work by Moza was not placed in the public domain as required. He didn't threaten legal action, although it would be within his legal to right to do so under copyright law since he is the copyright holder, and since gpl is a license not a contract - which is an important distinction in many countries where IP is concerned. This brings us to the question - is copyright law in once country enforceable in another country? Maybe, but there's a lot to unpack there, and its beyond the scope of this conversation. Looks like to me that Walmis has chosen just to call them out with the hopes that either 1) Moza will release their source code into the public domain so that we may all benefit (the original intent of GPL), or 2) that people think twice before purchasing Moza FFB hardware given the likelihood that they infringed on his license. I tried my best to give a thoughtful response to your 3 posts, so that you might have a better understanding of the issue. Hopefully, that has happened:)2 points
