Seems to me that you are projecting your DCS use-case onto the whole community. It may be a surprise to some, but not everyone here is a competitive multiplayer gamer, there are some users who actually enjoy the simulation, and learning the in and outs of a new DCS aircraft and dont care if it is not an ultra modern aircraft .. I can even enjoy a Fw190 or a Sabre, dont need a super missile to be a happy Simmer.10 points

Thanks, Guys, you all are the reason why I keep going and creating the mods and It's great to see you all enjoying them. That's a beautiful photo, Rudel. Thanks for the prayers and hugs. I appreciate it. I pray every night for pain relief. I hope my health will improve this upcoming new year and will be much better than in 2024. I also wish you all a wonderful X-Mas and New Year. Hopefully, you've gotten all your shopping done. On another note, I fixed the Cavours Collision model. I went back to the drawing board and took note on how ED created collision mods for ships and well that's where I found the answer. The photo below shows it all. This is inside the AH-64 Apache. You can see the FPS I received while inside as a player. I will see if I can get the Damage textures working. Also, I'm 90% complete with the Horizon Class Frigate textures. I try to keep the textures simple. It shouldn't take long to complete the ships.6 points

Thanks, Ironghost, your right. We have to take care of ourselves. Most will never understand until they are disabled. Hello everyone, as promised. I have released the ITS Cavour Aircraft Carrier. I broke the Thaon di Revel Class mod code yesterday so I'm piecing her back together one code at a time. I will release her once I finish. *** As mentioned. There is a known issue with the AI Player AH-64 Apache helicopter, it creates lag when spawning onboard the ITS Cavour. All other AI Player aircraft FPS were above 100. Not sure why the AH-64 creates a problem. I don't have the Kiowa for testing. *** Also, you may or may not see issues with the Aster 15 Missile exploding on launch. I'm working to resolve that issue. Keep in mind all we do is code the mods. DCS Game engine decides what it wants to do with the code. Please report any major technical issues. It's best you PM me. I don't monitor the forums much while I'm working on the mods. -- Next up is the French and Italian Horizon Class Frigates. Thank you all for your patience. Please enjoy the mod.4 points

Please check out our development screenshots and read the project status update below. As we approach the end of the year, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued dedication to DCS. Your feedback and passion have helped us push boundaries, refine our simulator, and bring ever more realism to DCS. Thank you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us! We look forward to soaring onwards and upwards into the New Year together! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Winter Sale Up to 50% discount Now is the time to expand your hangar and sharpen your combat skills with new aircraft, terrains, and campaigns! Until the 6th of January 15:00 GMT enjoy deep discounts on a wide range of our most popular modules! The DCS Steam Edition Winter Sale is now on until the 2nd of January at 18:00 GMT. Enjoy! MiG-29A Fulcrum Development Progress The primary MiG-29A development efforts are focused on the design of the external model, cockpit, avionics, and general aircraft systems. The DCS: MiG-29A is our first aircraft based on photogrammetry. The cockpit reference aircraft is located in Aircraft Museum Kosice, and we greatly appreciate their generous assistance. The textures and geometry of the new cockpit have been created from scratch, using new technologies that include high-polygon models for baking-in normal maps. This technique has provided many quality improvements whilst also presenting plenty of challenges. We generated a huge number of photos and videos of the aircraft, and we completely reworked the external model. Based on this reference data and factory diagrams, we were able to include an exceptional level of detail for items such as surface materials and treatment, rivets, screws, and panel joints. The new normal map reflects the structure of the aircraft skin to a high degree of accuracy, with texture resolution increased by 400%. A lot of work has been completed on avionics and systems, including the Optical Laser System (OLS), which is an important component of the MiG-29 targeting suite. Its main elements are the InfraRed Search and Track (IRST) system and laser range finder. Most of the air-to-air targeting modes are progressing well and nearing completion. The gun sight development was not a trivial task, with a complex simulation of both the tracked-target mode and the non-tracked, “funnel” mode. The gun sights have been significantly redesigned for a highly accurate representation of the real unit. A new mode has been added which was designed to engage invisible aerial targets in cloud, haze or at night with the gun. Weapon modes for engaging ground targets with rockets and guns at fixed and moving targets in the presence of wind are in active development. We have also scheduled the development of the basic bombing modes in the near term. We have totally recreated the Fire Control Radar (FCR) architecture and the main modes. After primary work on the OLS and FCR is complete, we will model the interaction between the OLS and the FCR. The SPO-15LM radar warning receiver, also known as Product L006LM, has been completely rewritten. The new SPO-15 uses the same physics-based approach as the SPO-10, but with greater attention being paid to its second iteration of directivity patterns for transmitting and receiving antennas. The latter being of particularly high importance to Soviet RWR designs due to the independent processing of an output from each azimuth sector antenna. Additionally, the database has been expanded, with each radar having a unique signature in terms of signal properties and with the properties themselves covering additional details. Thanks to these improvements, the new SPO-15 can be modelled to closely emulate the algorithms used in the real system, and it simulates many of its real-life quirks and limitations. Pilots will find themselves having to pay attention to these limitations to utilize its full potential. These include, but are not limited to, non-linear range indications that will properly display the signal power, blinding by high power radars, and many cases of incorrect threat type determination due to limited resolution with which the signal parameters are measured. This depth and accuracy of the simulations will make our new implementation of SPO-15 in DCS the most realistic and detailed simulation of this system of any PC simulator. A Mission Editor data programming panel is being developed for the navigation system. This will allow you to program the flight before the start of the mission and use this program in flight. Access to the panel and modification of data will be possible during the simulation, when the aircraft is on the ground. We are developing the MiG-29A INS and its interaction with the navigation system. Special attention is being paid to the modes of ground INS alignment and its accuracy and drift in flight. This will be affected by the alignment mode and the presence or absence of radio correction from the programmed beacon. Work remains on the Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) system, but we'll release the core functionality of IFF at early access, and then continue to work on the more advanced IFF features. Aircraft systems are being added and refined to a deep level of functionality. This includes the new hydraulic and electrical system, procedures and physics of engine startup and shutdown, expansion and reconfiguration of automatic control systems. Numerous new modes are also being introduced, and transients are being improved. Merry Christmas Happy holidays! In the spirit of the upcoming Christmas holiday, we wish you calm winds, clear horizons, and treasured moments with friends and loved ones. May your hangars be full, your aircraft finely tuned, and your upcoming sorties filled with excitement and discovery. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and your loved ones. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,3 points

Well that is where I disagree, then. I think the future of DCS is definitely Cold War as others have stated before (Enigma made a very good video about it). It's a very realistic timeframe to expect full-fidelity BluFor AND RedFor aircraft (shame about the Razbam stuff since the MiG-23 was apparently in the final stretch before release), and it's where most of the assets are as well. We'll have a Fulda Map soon-ish, and we'll have Iraq to re-enact Desert Storm on (from both sides). If enough Iranian bases are added we can re-enact the first Gulf War (Iran-Iraq). We have a Syria map for Syria-Israel stuff (which Heatblur will even make a campaign about), ... (oh and when it comes to CW, you can even use the Normandy2 map for '80s scenarios for us rotorheads - I think using one of the included airbases as a FARP works quite well) A modern-ish RedFor fighter has been highly requested for years, and since this MiG-29 is likely the most advanced we'll get for a time (though an early Su-27 is most likely a matter of when not if I'd think). Exactly! There are a decent number of people who treat DCS as a virtual museum, so for those people and many others the MiG-29 will be a very welcome addition!3 points

I'm currently trialling the Anton. I've noticed that the canopy has intermittent flashing on the sides. It's only on the side/rear of the canopy, the part that slides back to open. Is this a known bug? It's quite distracting, and in VR it's giving me a bit of a headache. I was planning to buy this bird, but this will be difficult to live with. Thanks!2 points

Well I've been busy for a long time, so we're even. I'm currently re-writing the version parsing, which will then be integrated into build and module scanning, as well as merging some module scan functions into a single function, which will resolve any version# issues for good, as well as making it less work when adding new modules, since everything would be further unified and condensed into a single function vs multiple. Everything else that's broken (ie MT Modes etc), have already been fixed internally. I have a Loooooooooooooooooooooooong change log, but I cannot release the next public build until after I finish the scan re-writes, and a few features that have already been integrated make it to the public DCS Builds.2 points

devils advocate talking now. i have spent many years online gaming and have also been admin. i have never been banned. i have never personally banned anyone. if i had, it would been a major transgression. but it was my server. it was my money paying for the server. i certainly would not have cared whether there was a "common sense gaming industry policy." who wrote the policy? who voted for it to make it a standard? i know i did not. who cares either way? my thought is if you did something to get you banned from a server, then that is between you and the server admins. ED has nothing to say in the matter either way.2 points

The Readme is generic and applies to the objects of the original Mod, it is not specific to the Lights & Personnel. This is as intended, the lights are just lights, they do not have any structure attached to them. You use them by attaching to existing objects, for example here I have placed 2 lights on each shelter: This is how it looks without the Mod:2 points

it's been a decade, not years. I know many people who aren't buying any new modules until the core is fixed and updated to 2025 standards.2 points

It's because it's assuming / seeing 2.9.10 is 2.9.1, even if I parse the version string into major, minor, sub-versioning values. It'll be fixed when I get time to work on it add a 2.9.10 parameter like I've done for older versions that get to above x.x.9 and get another build out, lots of under the hood changes, so, it wont be after holidays as I'm still working 5x15 hr days, in remote locations.2 points

Good Morning Everyone, Thank you all for your kind words. It means a lot. Most people don't understand the mental impact of being disabled by pain. So I appreciate it. It's good to know some of you care and I thank you all for that. That is why I will continue to provide AI ship mods for DCS because of your continued support. As promised I will be releasing the Cavour Carrier and the Paolo Thaon di Revel class Offshore Patrol Vessel. I am preparing them for release as I write this message. -- Known Aircraft issues with the Cavour are the AH-64 Apache Player creates a lag in the game but I receive an FPS of 100 plus with all other aircraft. I don't have the Kiowa mod so I couldn't test her FPS on deck. --I also see some issues with the Aster 15 Missiles but it's hit or miss when the missiles launch. They tend to explode after launching. I have been working to fix this issue. However, all the deck guns work great. I will finish testing her this afternoon and release her either late today or tomorrow morning. --Lastly, I can't get the collision model damage textures to work but I will continue to work on both mods until I fix it. Stay tuned for release.2 points

Would any modders out there be interested in creating the sort of set up that Ukrainian MiG-29s have with a mobile phone/ small tablet attached to the HUD and/ or a simple hand held GPS? Like here: https://www.twz.com/ukraines-mig-29s-shown-firing-firing-u-s-agm-88-missiles-in-stunning-cockpit-video If we could get something similar with a moving map/ route that would be fantastic. Something similar could be implemented for the Su-25 too. I'm actually somewhat surprised that nobody has attempted to do this yet? Huge Thanks in advance!1 point

I havn‘t tried to replicate this, so my answer is probably just as vague as your question. One thing to remember is, that undesignate does not delete the target from the JDAM. So if the JDAM with the previously designated TOO is selected, this is still the target that you are currently going after until you designate a new one. The double negative throws me off here a little . So, were you or were you not able to designate another tgt? Sometimes I‘m not 100% sure either, what is going on, but usually either a TDC depress or cycling through the tracking modes solves the issue. Are you sure you were in the correct mode? There are two modes which you can cycle by a double tab on the NWS button. In one mode the TGP is on the velocity vector and on the other the TGP is pointing straight ahead and a few degrees (15?) down.1 point

There were several threads both on this forum and steam discussion pages where users asked about this, and ED mentioned it was a mistake to be fixed, with steam being warned. Some even laughed when ED mentioned steam is slow to apply this kind of changes. The price was corrected about 24h after release, I think last Thursday or Friday, which is when i bought it. If you were happy to click on the buy button, this post is beyond my understanding. If you were suspicious, the early discount wasn't applied, again why did you click on the button?1 point

As a customer I would also try to get my return on investment. Seeking feedback from others, understanding current state and future potential of the product, what is the vision of the company for this and other modules and their plan for an healthy environment. And yes I would do this even if "it is only 9.99". My opinion is that I would have been willing to pay more —it is not a cheap hobby after all— if it meant a stronger commitment to elevate this module to be on par with the others. Offering a cosmetic upgrade for a bargain price gives me the impression that all the community's wishes and hopes will be frozen for another decade if not for good. All the feedback in these days sounds like the community loves the F-5 more than ED do, a missed opportunity. Perhaps with a higher quality product, enthusiasm could have been greater, trust could have been renewed, and sales might even have been stronger —but that's speculation on my part. Removing the product from the trial program is concerning, preventing potential customers from "see for themselves" and leaving the marketing keys in the hands of the community which, understandably, has mixed feelings right now. I hope that continuing this conversation politely and constructively can spark some interest and lead to a reevaluation of this project.1 point
