Yes, my first impulse when this situation started was to wait for a resolution and withhold my DCS purchases until the matter cleared. My DCS purchases took a dive because of this: I was the kind of customer that purchased almost every item that showed up on the store, both those that strike my fancy and those that I purchased mostly to support the developers, like the CE-2, Yak-52 and I-16, but this last semester I only bought the upgrades to Flamming Cliffs and the F-5E, skipping on all the recent releases. I will use the F-15E credit to purchase the MiG-29 when it appears, but it is unlikely that I will spend more until ED and Razbam solve their conflict. I stopped flying the 15E the moment the situation began, but I still love the Sim in spite of all and thus went on to learn the F-4E and nowadays I have returned to the MiG-21, so I'm making training missions for those two Cheers and happy new year to you and to every user of this Community. What is crap is the quality of most Antivirus, because in my opinion flagging an inocent file as infected is just unacceptable. This is not an ED problem, but an AV maker problem.

Not me, excluding the DCS folders was a definitive solution to this problem so no need for workarounds.

You are brave, last week I caved and opened a ticket to request a refund for my 15E, as I lost hope about ED and Razbam patching up their relationship. Sure, the AV says so, but have you actually seen any DCS user that has been infected by this so called trojan? Any user, even one? i haven’t known of a single case.

Antivirus always err on the safe side, that is they have no problem on falsely flagging a file as infected ... in the end it all depends on who you trust more: ED to not infect your PC, or Microsoft making a quality AV that never gives a false positive.

Add an antivirus exclusion for the DCS Folder.

Not really ... >95% of virus infections came to you over e-mail and web browsing, and once you do get a virus, it is unlikely that it will target the DCS folder, it is much more likely that it will scavenge your disk looking for credit card information, e-mail addresses, and the like.

No need for sarcasm on this Forum, most likely your Antivirus is interfering with DCS, make sure to implement a folder exclusion on the AV configuration so that it doesn't touch DCS and then run a DCS_Updater Repair to recover the files that the AV may have quarantined.

The weapon may be real, just not on the C-101 ... Wikipedia is not always accurate, the trials that Chile did were made with missile mock-ups .... not one of these missiles was ever launched on those trials. Eventually FACH realized that launching such missiles from a platform that did not had an air-surface radar was pretty impractical, and the project was shelved in favor of purchasing Exocet missiles for our Cougar helicopters, a weapon that was in fact used operationally during a long time.

On my case, I prefer the developer working on finishing the last variant of the Mirage F1 and then work on its upcoming Starfighter, rather than spend man-hours on implementing a fictional weapon for a training aircraft.

Why not? .. the A variant was produced in much larger numbers and was widely exported.

most likely your antivirus has wrongly deleted dcs files. Add a folder exclusion to your AV, so that it won’t look for viruses inside the DCS folders, and then run a DCS_Updater repair to recover the lost files.

clear the metashaders2 and fxo folders, to let the driver rebuild the graphics shaders

You downloaded an old version of this Mod (2.7.9) ... there is a newer one that works fine from Saved Games: The mod manager only eases the task of enabling or disabling a Mod when needed ... it won't know by itself where is the destination folder that it needs, its the user the one that needs to read that info on the Mods documentation.

How did you arrive to that conclusion? My DCS Updater only downloads items that have been updated, I have never seen it download an item that has not been updated.

On my updated DCS the Mirage still works fine: so, it isnt a DCS problem ... you really need to inspect your install and make sure no user mod is conflicting and your antivirus is banned from touch the DCS files.

On my case, I always follow the instructions given by the Mod's author. A Saved Games install is preferred, because then a DCS update or repair has much lower chance of breaking the Mod, but not all Mods can work from that location, for example most Terrain and Weather Mods need to go onto the DCS program folder.
