fixed HUD symbols in GND Strafe mode after AGM-88s are fired
Terzi posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
When you fire your AGM-88s, then go to GND Strafe mod, the HARM symbology will still be visible on the HUD, on top of each other, resulting in a quite cluttered HUD symbology. -
When you launch an AGM-88 in POS or EOM mode, the post-launch timer starts counting down. If you go to NAV mode, then come back to AG mode later, you will notice that the timer was not counting down when were not in AG mode.

I understand the necessity of the track replays, but the problem I described above is very easy to reproduce. You have lots of beta testers to try it. I am just a costumer. I spend lots of time in the Viper so I want to help bug reports when I notice something wrong. Usually the missions that I fly are quite long in terms of time, and complicated missions. So that track file wouldn't help much. I need to make a specific sample mission to show any problem. Anyway, I will provide the track file once I am on the PC. Again, sorry for missing track file but I will add it ASAP.

While using mavericks in VIS mode; The HUD SPI marker sticks to the FPM. Then press TMS UP once for referencing the marker to the ground. Now the range value on the EHSI no longer shows the correct distance to STPT, but the weapon slant range. Move the cursor anywhere, value will update. Probably a pointer referencing to a wrong instance of a range object.
-
Well do the triple mavericks as it is feasible in real life. But also add the probability that the third maverick's booster cap can damage the tail stabilisators. Just like in real life. I don't dare to fly triple mavericks. Just unsafe.

fixed HSI distance to INS destination shows slant range
Terzi replied to Frederf's topic in Bugs and Problems
I confirm this and a very similar problem. I recall once I was with mavericks in VIS mode, moving the cursor was changing the range in HSI. In other words, the HSI was showing my weapon's slant range to current maverick SPI. I was too lazy to report it because it definitely needs a track file -
can not reproduce electrical power switch issue
Terzi replied to KL0083's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Re-test the flcs relays when this happens. Just keep the momentary switch up for a second. All warnings will be gone. This problem happens when you set the electric power switch from "main gen" to "batt" or off. And then back to main gen. -
investigating Snowplow mode behavior is inconsistent
Terzi replied to USAF-Falcon87's topic in Bugs and Problems
I gave up using anything related to TGP. Seriously I will just wait until the F-16 is out of early access and we have nice AG radar. Until then, I will only do visual + coordinate based AG missions. Period. From my previous sim experience, I could understand everything, how things work, how the sensors bound to each other, find & track anything. Right now in DCS, it is a lottery... One sensor is looking here and the other one is looking to Africa.. Frustrating -
Additions: DTC and configurable MFD pages Better TGP More official Turkish squadron skins (unoffcial skins are full of mistakes) Other incomplete stuff (like alternative landing gear, flcs bit test etc)

Totally agree with those two statements. Even if the real-like damage modeling is currently not the top priority thing for ED, there should be a mid-state between destroyed and alive, which may be put as "out of service" or "out of use" or "critically damaged" or "light damage" so what this means is that, the owning faction will not be able to use this vehicle unless it goes through repair. Maybe one of those states will be "it can move but cannot shoot" or "it can shoot but cannot move" or "it can only shoot weapon 1 and 3 and can move". This "repair" what I am talking about would somehow be connected to maintenance crew, possibly to be included in the planned DCS: Dynamic Campaign. As for the damage assessment, this isn't yes or no. Your car's battery might have been run out. So your car isn't destroyed but still cannot move unless you do something. So there should be some probability based damage effects. Maybe an APC is 50m from the explosion center but takes no critical damage, while another at 200m takes a critical shot to its fuel tank or ammunition so it gets burned.

I have just watched Wags' video and I can say that for a 2 x 1000 pound area effect anti-armor munition, this damage is sooo little. What you see in the video is just dust and explosion effects. What's the result? 2 to 5 BMP-2s killed? And the tents in the middle? Tents can be destroyed by a single bullet in DCS. Maybe if someone would throw 2000 lbs stone, it would be somewhat similar I was also reading comments on the video. Everybody is like 'wooow that's soooo good weapon, it destroyed everything from 70 miles." which I strongly disagree. I guess it would be good to re-evaluate in DCS what BLU-97 based CBU-87, CBU-103 and the AGM-154A can do in reality. This is an anti-armor weapon (well not anti-heavy armor), and it should destroy light armor vehicles just fine. Maybe its time to check on that? And also implement the rotation speed model (rpm setting) for adjusting it spread vs lethality? From globalsecurity.org: "The BLU-97/B Combined Effects Bomb (CEB), effective against armor, personnel and material, contains a shaped charge, scored steel casing and zirconium ring for anti-armor, fragmentation and incendiary capability."

I think there should be 3 categories: global settings, mission specific settings, and the third category is what you prefer to be default, unless the mission overrides them. A primitive DTC implementation exist in JF-17 so why not the F-16 too

The brightness knob of the HMCS does not increase or decrease properly. While increasing, the brightness will turn on instantly at ~50%, and while decreasing, it will not dim at all until you reach some threshold.

Ah okay now I understand. Probably I was landing downwind. Thanks!

I checked the ILS freq from the F10 map (109.30) and could never get ILS signal to land on RWY 05. Frequency for RWY 23 works. Is that a bug? I suppose so because otherwise I would not get the signal while approaching from the other side.
-
Go to ILS page and set the course to arbitrary number. Then go ahead and rotate the course knob of the EHSI so that it gets past 360 degrees. The EHSI course value will restart from 0 after passing north, but DED screen value will increase beyond 360 (like 361,362.. so on).

Its Kobani not Kabani. Maybe you did a wrong search.

"Subject to Change" should not be the excuse not to make the Sniper pod. If it does exist in the F-16 in question (which it does), it should definitely be added. In case the data is classified or not accessible right now, that's fine to leave it for future opportunities. But when we purchase the product it is an unwritten promise that we expect the full package (all available weapons and systems) just like any other module. It doesn't really change the fact that this F-16 has the Sniper pod, whether ED was promising it or not, whether removing from the list or not. It is a fact that must be there at some point.

Is it possible that ED switches to whole globe model? I really hope so. I know this was discussed before but please take a moment to read some thoughts. Those areas which are not yet done by ED/purchased by the user; would be filled with auto-generated terrain, based on (possibly royalty-free) satellite images/elevations. Then those areas which are modeled as DLC, would override that autogen data whereever possible if it exists in DCS shop. No matter how bad the generated terrain would be, noone has any reason to complain since everyone still has freedom to stay e.g inside Syria, just like they would do today, and enjoy their purchased map assets. In that case one would be able to fly from Iran to Syria to Caucaus etc. Just like northern part of Turkey and Crimean side today in Caucaus Map. No airports (or maybe just important ones, basic structure), no fancy stuff but just sea+terrain. This would at least simulate long range flights and would provide many extra possibilities to simulate long-range airlifts, refuelings, and would greatly benefit the dynamic campaign on the horizon. I assume many will argue about the map size in terabytes, but this could also be done step by step. Currently there is nothing in Africa, well, leave it out for now but make the areas between Persian Gulf and the Channel map, even though it is auto-gen. Or make it just like FS2020. They manage to keep their install size 100 to 200GB. If you ask me, yes I would takeoff from Aviano in Italy, refuel on my way on Mediterrenean, strike ISIS in Palmyra and come back the same way. One good point would be, open the map for community contribution. I would be happy to contribute with 3D drawings to model the Aviano base in Italy. Let's say that person X makes a hangar, or a specific bridge. Once that community contributed asset gets approved by the ED, it is added to DCS->core. Isolate the areas which are being worked on by 3rd parties, so that their financial interest is never shadowed by community contributions. Everybody benefits from that.

Yes, the most produced warplane ever, from ED.

Just reading today's news about the Viper roadmap. There is no DTC mentioned. Is it going to be implemented? I really think that it should be added, but as far as I know, no official comments on it yet (whether its coming or not).

Really nice work! But is it really the best choice to put effort on such details instead of adding missing towns, bridges, villages (like Afrin and Kobani, which saw fierce fights recent years)? I don't criticize this but just pointing out.

Remember how good quality the Syria map was when it was released. I think testing hard before the release is the way to go. I really wouldn't like to see fps loss, glitches or faulty objects but rather wait longer release. I really like the work Ugra is doing. A bit off topic, but north side of the map needs some love. Some towns, bridges are still missing. But given how difficult this map was, I again take the opportunity to thank Ugra and ED.

Thanks for the track. I was lazy to generate one. When there is any obstacle it is a must to use high cruise mode. Long wait until 11nm. Then ups. There is nothing to track. Missile is flying to Mars.
