  1. No offense, but i really don't understand why people fly flightsims without a joystick. Even a cheap basic usb joystick of a few bucks make a lot of different in controlling the plane. It makes life so much easier
  2. See it more as the HUD is your monitor and the MMC is a your motherboard/desktop In your case it's more like turning on your monitor, but not your desktop. Why it does that when shutting down seems like a bug to me
  3. To my understanding (i'm not an avionics guy) the HUD is a separate unit, but it's a display, so not a processing unit itself. If you don't turn on the other stuff, there is simply nothing to show. The SYM wheel is like an on/off button and brightness wheel in one
  4. How silly now i read that back let me rephrase that... If i'm not mistaken, the tankers in DCS are bearing only on Y band and make sure to set TACAN to A-A, airfields give you both bearing and distance on X band
  5. How far away from the TACAN where you? If i'm not mistaken, TACAN doesn't give range information, if you are out of range, only a bearing
  6. As mentioned above, make sure the canopy is fully down by holding down the switch. If you have the engine still off, you can hear the actuator stop and thats when you release the switch In RL after the canopy closes, the hooks need to rotate to ensure a positive lock (i think thats DCS way of needing to hold the switch)
  7. I think Mavericks and boresighting is fairly simple and easy to use. If you hate it, its fine, you can use the Mavs without boresighting or use different weapons
  8. For those who have this issue, try this: I tried it a couple of times today and sometimes i have this issue where the missiles miss their target. My steps to "fix" this for now is to reset the INU under Util page of the TSD. Works 100%, all of my fired missiles hit their intended target after the reset
  9. It has a reason why they developed bombs like GBU-49 and GBU-54. If you want to be that accurate to take out a vehicle, use laser guidenance or a Maverick
  10. you need to wait until rpm gets to just over 20% and stabilize there and the SEC light goes out. After those 2 conditions are met, advance throttle to idle using Shift+Home
  11. try setting turbo mode to off in OpenXR, before removing headset
  12. Just flew around in Caucusus MP and couldn't hit anything with the L version
  13. Yes, i do use different programs as the stock ones are quite useless.
  14. I know we get DTC one day, but the way it is now, it's just clumsy and annoying, having to set CM every time we start up I mean while we wait for a DTC, ED could have made a temporarily solution like i mentioned above
  15. i wish ED can implement something like in theJF17, where you can set the programs in the "Special" tab under options. It's very easy and fast to use
  16. Yes, because you'll get a caution light as soon as you press the jettison button Only A/A missiles and center line tank are considered CAT I Any A/G stores and wing tanks are considered CAT III
  17. It was more intended for people who think that the F16 works in a similar matter, because Raven answered you that the system is partially implemented, this can lead people to think the F16 should give a tone aswell I know how the Mirage works, it was my first module years ago
  18. The F16 doesn't give you a warning tone, only a caution light
  19. That not what he said in his post. How can i know what he says, if he doesnt say what he means? Noone was talking about when, how or not to commit
  20. This is not true How exactly does briefing know, where the bandits are to be found in the entire airspace? Again this statement is not true See above, the pilot can change what he wants in order to find a target. There is no "magic" setting which works every time to see everything and anywhere on the scope
  21. Tgp won't slave in CCIP at your target, regardless of the bombing profile. TGP will only slave to a SPI, which you don't have in CCIP mode. You have to be in CCRP to do so and if you designate a target on the radar, you can also use the "TGT" button on the MFD showing the radar page to slew the TGP onto the target You can set CCIP or CCRP in any profile by pressing NWS button or set it by pressing the corresponding button on the MFD when it is showing the SMS page
  22. looks good, but the price is way to much
  23. You should ask Lockheed Martin that question.... Like i said some Blocks DO have that feature And if you are pulling 8 G's, you shouldn't be pushing any puttons
