Viper Mavericks PRE-AUTO/ MAN handoff
_SteelFalcon_ replied to Reflected's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
For the first thing: if you have auto handoff enabled, it is very important to be within range before attempting a point track and with that, the handoff. Else it could produce a break lock on the mav page. for the 2nd part: if you cold start, boresighting the Mavs is important when using them together with a tgp. This syncs the point of aim for the mav and the tgp to the same location. It has to be done once per station and currently doesnt require to re-do it when rearming mavs. wags has a video about boresighting mavericks i think -
When rearming, do you wait until the ground crew says „rearming complete“? And did you power on the newly loaded harms?

cannot reproduce and missing track file HMCS display vanishing act
_SteelFalcon_ replied to GazAce's topic in Bugs and Problems
DMS down long disables and enables the HMCS regardless of brightness setting. Maybe check if that‘s what happens -
HAD and HSD expand modes are on the roadmap too

reported earlier Unable to hit -3 G
_SteelFalcon_ replied to Hummingbird's topic in Bugs and Problems
Regarding the negative G, this has been reported already here: -
There‘s a button you can set the ready pre contact option to. It‘s in the controls bindings. Bind that somewhere on your throttle if able and you‘re all set
-
It‘s not the latency. Basically it is: mission running and jet cold with no power at all (no ground power, no battery etc) then the time will be off. The faster you start the jet after spawning, the smaller the deviation you have. If you spawn cold, sit on the ground for 10 minutes and then start the jet, the clock will be horribly out of sync

reported AIM 120C Still easily defeatable
_SteelFalcon_ replied to PatatOorlog's topic in Weapon Bugs
not instantly. the beeper will stop, the M wont be flashing but still on your RWR for a little while and then it will disappear. here's an example: notice how the M is still on his EW page while he's roughly in the notch. it is not flashing. there is no beeping. it's notched, but the M is still on the EW page for a while -
Not entirely correct. The cmds.lua contains 5 manual programs, the bypass program and 3 additional programs for semi/auto. And the 3 semi/auto programs are being used when the cmds is set to semi or auto and activated with cms aft. By my understnding it should choose 1 of the 3 programs from the semi/auto category depending on the threat. while the switch is in semi/auto, you can still also use the manually selected program that is set with the prgrm knob (1-4) by pressing cms fwd and you can use the slap switch for program 5 in the early access guide, cmds stuff can be found at page 300

Let‘s not derail this post also with red/blue stuff, pls… -
This looks like the Weapon time on target (time at which the weapon will impact the currently designated target point)in hhmmss

It is strange to me that such a post is moved to the wishlist, especially considering the pinned post in the weapons bugs section states „Examples are missile guidance or FM issues, gun dispersion, bomb accuracy, etc.“ and the OPs post is far from a wishlist item when read completely… sad.

correct as is HMCS disappearing after some time
_SteelFalcon_ replied to Bowman-011's topic in Bugs and Problems
Did you by chance press DMS down long? Cuz that deactivates and reactivates the HMCs, regardless of brightness setting on the knob (obviously you will not notice if the knob is fully left) -
cannot reproduce TGP Ground slave inconsistency
_SteelFalcon_ replied to desertowl's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sounds like he is in INR mode and moving the rdr cursor slew doesnt move the pod unless tms right or up is pressed prior to slewing in some occasions -
not a bug TGP and Markpoint offset

Glad it helped -
not a bug TGP and Markpoint offset
_SteelFalcon_ replied to skywalker22's topic in Bugs and Problems
Before going back to your mark point, did you slew around while having a different steerpoint selected? Afaik you‘d have to CZ to remove any slew deltas. If i‘m not mistaken, the delta carries over to other steerpoint and only gets cleared with CZ -
investigating JSOW speed loss on tandem launch
_SteelFalcon_ replied to _SteelFalcon_'s topic in Weapon Bugs
I just tested it again on the new OB and it still seems to happen. Tandem launch, parallel impact, first pair 1 weapon didn't reach the target at all Tacview and track attached Tacview-20220429-064725-DCS-MG.zip.acmi JSOW_retest.trk -
correct as-is JSOW SMS CNTL page does not open
_SteelFalcon_ replied to Mik75's topic in Bugs and Problems
bug report created separately. thanks -
As mentioned here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/299572-jsow-sms-cntl-page-does-not-open/?do=findComment&comment=4956795 The CNTL page isn't functioning, but the double launch parallel or in trail work and 2 weapons are being deployed. however, during testing, i found some inconsistent behavior with the JSOW. as one can see in the track, sometimes one JSOW of the first pair (very rarely also both weapons) that is being dropped (no matter if in trail or parallel impact selected) will slow down significantly and at times (especially seen in track JSOW4) not even reach the target. see tracks + tacviews attached. so in short: deploying the weapon is not the issue, but weapon behavior is not very consistent when using pair releases. i have not tested single release here, so i don't know if that happens there too at times. not to speak of the rather underwhelming effect on target upon impact, but that's another issue with cluster bombs that aren't SFWs it seems. Also if you‘re running out of gas and your jet is clean, you can extend the range significantly by climbing to 30-40k ft. You‘ll barely burn fuel in military power and can easily sustain 0.8 mach depending on your stores. It‘ll get you almost anywhere with very minimal fuel burn
