They seem to be working on fuses, at least something in that direction is being done for WW2 bombs. i‘d be surprised if this wouldn‘t also be done to modern weapons sometime in the future as well. edit: timestamp for bombs around 6:05 in the video

You can absolutely do 100nm with 800lbs of fuel. And you‘ll have about 100lbs left over if you do it right
-
They‘re not really drones per se. Just AI F5E set to fly circles and not engage.

What's this speaker looking thing below the EHSI?
_SteelFalcon_ replied to Amerik's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
You just wanna poke the finger in there, like the fan in the hind -
It does send it over the network (or at least it did last time i tried) but awacs will still call you by your original CS as set in the editor
-
sadly this feature is not yet implemented and you will be stuck in the "flight" as placed down in the mission editor by the creator but if you know your friends callsign, you can still see his targets. Example: your friend is Colt 1-1 and you at Springfield 1-4, he will see targets that you lock up with SP14 above the contact on the Radar screen, and you will see his target as CT11 on radar. however, if multiple guys target the same guy, all you get is an "M" over the bandit

do you use curves on the throttle? cuz if i AAR and sneeze on my throttle, i gain speed instantly, so i have to take the power out instantly again when tanking. that's with full linear throttle axis settings
-
I find the engine to be quite responsive to even small inputs tbh
-
there is no perfect setting for throttle during AAR. you will have to adjust it constantly, especially considering the weight you gain by simply taking on fuel.

Hi, there seems to be an issue with markpoints creation from the HUD. See file attached. Creating the first mark point works perfectly fine. However, if i close the Mark page without pressing TMS aft after creating the Mark point, i get an issue on the next mark point i want to create. while it will instantly save the coordinates of where i'm looking, it completely skips the part of ground stabilizing the circle and letting me slew the circle to refine the mark point. can be reproduced reliably and in the track you can see the issue happening when looking at the DED, you can see the number change on every hit of TMS up i make If i press TMS aft after creating the mark point, the next one works fine with symbology etc. Edit: i havent tested the other mark point options using ag radar or tgp, there‘s a chance it happens there too but i dunno Mark_issue_AG Mode_HUD.trk

make sure you read it.

the uncage switch is the wrong one to align. you need to press the ENABLE switch. it works 100%

there's been posts about excessive drag from pylons and bomb racks, it's being looked at.

Is there a reliable way to reset datalink?

Glad it helped -
Is there a reliable way to reset datalink?
_SteelFalcon_ replied to TheBigTatanka's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yeah switch your Radar from RWS to TWS and back. RWS is utterly broken with datalink at the moment. -
it seems to apply to certain objects only. Nevada Takeoff mission, the target range at WP1 with tons of T55 show the old FLIR. but making a custom mission using BTR 80 as targets the FLIR looks "new". oh well at lest WHOT is now WHOT, which is already something
-
It doesnt drop below 10 anymore i think. As long as you confirm the lat long and elev within the first 2 minutes of the norm alignment, you should be fine setting the knob to nav as soon as align blinks in your hud

Does maverick alignment is permanent?
_SteelFalcon_ replied to nanarr1919's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yeah they keep the calibration. Currently, even if you launch the missiles, land, rearm new mavs, the newly loaded ones will even be boresighted already. I dont know if that‘s correct (i doubt it), but that‘s how it is in DCS at the moment. -
Mount the HTS and turn on on power for left cheek station

it's been the case since the january update in 2022. the radar modes were bugged since 2.7.10.18996 OB before that, the main thing that wasn't working was that bugged targets didn't show on HSD, but this was less an issue than what we currently have with not updating Datalink in RWS and the in this topic demonstrated TWS issue with bugging targets

Flaps have 2 positions. Norm and extended. How exactly would you achieve 6%?

Upcoming flight model adjustments

Or you know, you might aswell want to show us some data to your claim that it‘s gonna be wrong with the new FM… especially the „catering to a complaining crowd that seems to be a scheme lately“ part.- 78 replies

Upcoming flight model adjustments

amazing how people already start complaining before the changes are even live without getting hands on at all.
