BigDuke6ixx Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 (edited) Hi, people! Can somebody explain is it possible to adjust head turning speed or sensivity, like with TrackIr? I mean, that it is really difficult to turn my head at 180 degrees during dogfights, my neck is under pressure... You're in a VR cockpit now with all the physical restrictions that comes with it. Can't you just deal with it like real pilots do? Edited March 9, 2019 by BigDuke6ixx

Not forgetting real pilots are also strapped in tightly and under G. Both of which restrict movement further, balanced against being provided with grab handles to pull themselves around. Capt_Haddock Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Not forgetting real pilots are also strapped in tightly and under G. Both of which restrict movement further, balanced against being provided with grab handles to pull themselves around. So true. When I fly on my gliding club's humble Ask13, the straps are so tight that looking back is virtually impossible.
yallu Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Greetings, looking for some advice, I have i7-4790K not OC'd. Would any of these cards work decently (keep 45 FPS) with the Rift: Vega 56, Vega 64 (nitro+) or RTX 2070? With high settings (but not very high or ultra), low shadows and reduced trees. I'm looking for guestimates or if you happen to have the same combo...
DeltaMike Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I can maintain 45fps with shadows off, vis range medium. Currently running PD 1.2 and msaa2. Gotta undervolt which is easy with latest crimson driver. Ryzen 5600X (stock), GBX570, 32Gb RAM, AMD 6900XT (reference), G2, WInwing Orion HOTAS, T-flight rudder

No. But what you can do is intelligent use of the recenter button if it is that much of an issue for you. Look to 3 o’clock. Recenter. Looks to 9 o’clock. Congratulations - you’re now looking behind you. Look forwards. Recenter.
cercata Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Looking at my 6 on VR is very hard for me too, but I like it. The problem is when you have a dogfight with someone using TrackIr :pilotfly:

The problem is when you have a dogfight with someone using TrackIr :pilotfly: They are just sitting at a remote drone operating station though. Everything out of VR is just simlite, in my opinion.
Guppy Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Looking at my 6 on VR is very hard for me too, but I like it. The problem is when you have a dogfight with someone using TrackIr :pilotfly: For me, having a bandit in close whether they were on my 6 or about to merge... VR gave me the most tactical awareness possible. I was able to swing my head around, glance at SA page, flip my head around. I think what helps is that you know that natural position of where that aircraft will be since VR is a 1:1 scale. Problem was, target identity. I was chasing a blurry pixel. It just didn't look good and that broke immersion for me. Or, mid fight i needed to feel around for a button that I could not see. With TrackIR I think it is easier to lose exactly where that bandit is in relation to your head movements.Since you're making small movements vs real. Obviously, having used TIR now for over a decade I've gotten pretty good at it, but it can still be a challenge. Also, I dont need to feel around for a control, I can glance in my Simpit and switch a radio in SRS pretty easily and things just look a whole lot better; but its a screen, which breaks that immersion, too. Both offer advantages - but I think VR wins in a in-close dog fight. My Simpit Progress and Update Learn how to build a SimPit like mine: Follow my Blog here!

mcdaniels Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 (edited) Hi, I am using a RTX 2080 coming from a Gforce GTX 1070. I had massive judder studder screentearing, especially online. Never reaching 90FPS (without ASW). With ASW I got ghosting when objects move fast. Upgraded my GPU cause I thought the 1070 ist pretty often running at 100% load. BUT it did not help a bit. Online and offline -> nearly same troubles. Overclocked my CPU and setted my RAM to the correct speed @ Bios. Offline it gets a lot better (running without ASW) Online -> same bad FPS drops, screen tearing,.... -- SOLUTION -- In the last instance I tried different NIC-drivers for my Intel NIC (original ones from the intelsite, not the one from the mainboardvendor). Switched off IPv6 and QoS in the NIC-settings. (unsure at the moment if it was the nicdriver, or the settings -> but it is running for me!) Now running at 90FPS online AMD Ryzen 7 @ 4Ghz, 32GB RAM, SSD, Gforce RTX 2080 8GB. Edited March 20, 2019 by mcdaniels AMD Ryzen 7 2700X@ 4Ghz, 32GB RAM, SSD, Gforce RTX 2080 8GB.
arturojgt Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Hi guys. I have a CV1 with an 1080ti. The colors in DCS are washed, I want to rise a little the saturation but I don’t know how to do this. Is there any guide or can you tell me how to change the color settings? Thank you. Killing time in the bathroom, honey bring me some matches...fewwwwww. Arturo "Chaco" Gonzalez Thomas

ED Team Wags Posted April 3, 2019 ED Team Posted April 3, 2019 Hey everyone, Earlier we mentioned that we have been working on DCS VR optimization. I have good news today! After much investigation and work, we traced the issue back to the terrain engine. We have since adjusted the terrain engine, and this has resulted in a 50% increase in VR performance! We will continue to test and optimize this further, but we hope to have this great improvement to you soon.
