So: no refueling ext. tanks in MP, no ILS on some missions in MP, no RWY lights in MP,... , no playing DCS almost 2 months.

I am losing motivation to read F18 manual.

These are quite important and I hoped that these would get fixed before stable release.

I am never going to stop anyone from getting more memory, but I think in many cases 16 will do, especially once everything levels out. I personally will be looking at upgrading to 32 myself very soon, not just for DCS, but in general.

That's ALOT of Razbams grease niples TM to fill additional 16 GB :D

DCS 2.5 Release version ???????

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I dont think that the memory leak issue was 100% fixed for 2.5 OB. Then I dont understand how the release version has been launched before fixing a major problem with the game. I have tried every trick but still cannot join populated servers in 2.5 OB.

So, Do we have to live with it or have the memory leak been fixed in the release version ?

Would highly appreciate some asnwers before downloading the release version.

Thanks.:noexpression:

Improvements have been made, but we have more to come in future updates.

Please lemme know, is it recommended to convert Beta to release ? Or should I download from the scratch?

The release version is the one you should "play" with. The openbeta is the one you should "test" with.

Indeed, no update of build number per se. It's just release version being updated to 2.5 yesterday, but it's the same build we've been having for two weeks in Open Beta form.

No.

Beta and Release right now are the same version. So the updater doesnt recognize the need for update Beta to Release.

So, this updated map automatically updates in the OpenBeta ?

I have looked for it to download it, I do not see it available anywhere.

They moved Open Beta to Release, no changes with the branch move. So you have the most up-to-date version, no worries bro

This is pure speculation, but from a sw/hw developer's point of view, moving the open beta version into the release branch does make some sense. More updates are coming for 2.5, and in order to test them out in the open beta branch while still having a mostly functional version of 2.5 available, this is the only practical way of doing it.

The whole "moving to beta" update thread was pretty pointless. They could have just posted it when they actually had something else to update along with it. As it stands, it seems to have confused quite a few people.

All that it did for me was make me think they just needed something to post so that we don't think they're not doing anything. Sort of disappointing.

For me it was the only logical step , holding 1.5 alive for longer would just eat up resources by patching a dead branch. So keep going, looking forward.

That’s right, and when the next module comes out , it should be available for the stable branch too ?!

Not necessarily.

No. It have been normal for ED to test the module on OpenBeta before release. One module that is not working as expected can crash DCS back to desktop and other nasty stuff. I'm pretty sure ED will test every new module thoroughly by introducing them on the OpenBeta branch.
