Only two more Fridays left in January, and that's when the good stuff usually comes out. I love Normandy, but I find the landscape is a little samey as the terrain there is so flat, also I don't think Nevada always looks its best at my favourite flying height of 500 feet, so it will be nice to have some shiny new hills and mountains to fly round. I'm also hoping that the airbases have received some tlc, with a bit more going on in the various locations, but it looks lovely on the videos. Not long until we find out anyhow. Of the three available terrains, the Caucasus map is my personal favourite so I'm very much looking forward to what's in store.

Being realistic, they're simply NOT going to get the all working perfectly and we shouldn't be expecting it. With something this complex, chances are that there will be some minor issues that we can simply assist with by raising them as issues and letting them resolve them, hopefully as politely as possible.

It's funny that some people think it will be released "any day now". When a general estimate of "somewhere in the last week of the month" or "last quarter of January" is given. Thus far, with Eagle Dynamics, one must look at the absolute latest of the estimate. "Last quarter of January" will mean something more like between the 29th and 31st.

I think it is all done but release is held up by checking all the campaigns, trainings etc. As soon as they have all signed off on it, the go button is pressed. Perhaps at the 31st the button gets pressed regardless.

nah, im going for friday 19 or 26 .

The work could be all done since a month before and they are using all these day to tweak a bit more and why not give us a surprise releasing when we dont expect it. Wouldnt be a crazy move to make us happy on a surprise like that :)

And since they won't be able to complete all of the fixes in time for release, my guess is they will TRY to fix all that they can so this means they will release it as late as possible while still meeting the range they had provided..

So I am guessing the last Friday of the month... Understanding that things will not be perfect...

Would be interesting if the new map got rushed. Upon release, we discover a spot in a mountainside with no collision model, and we can fly under the map. Lol!

After trying many time to land my Harrier on the aircraft carrier off the Normandy coast, I can confirm it's possible to sink to the bottom of the sea and then keep on going under the 3-D model of the sea bed, and you can look back above you to see the ships far above your head. Unfortunately by that point you've lost control of the aircraft though music_whistling.gif

I decided to hold off on the download until all of the feedback is in. Any major change like this has inevitable problems and issues. Plus, I'm interested to see how much it taxes user's systems.

Since the on line play in the current version isn't worth spit at this point and is useless to me right now, I can hold off until the dust settles.

System spec is here

Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i3; RAM: 8 GB; Free hard disk space: 30 GB; Discrete video card: 2 GB RAM (AMD, NVIDIA); requires internet activation.

Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 16GB; Hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 / ATI R9 290 DirectX11 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.

It is the same for 2.3 currently, so if you have that it is a good indication, unless your pc is a complete potato :)

Runs great on my rig, spec below

If I am running the current 1.5.8 with medium-high settings @1080p with hardware under the minimum, does that mean I am a cheater ? :megalol:
